[Edward]
"Ayhhh." I yawn as I slowly meander down the silent street. The dark shaded pathway provides a place of silent thought and contemplation that I find lacking in the loud and busy life I lead. I have much to think about.
From a young age Edward had always loved art, math, and psychology, anything that required abstract thought tickled his fancy. He was always quick to laugh and crack a joke and as his parents' only child, they delighted in him and he loved them dearly. For nine golden years they lived the perfect life, picnics together on the meadow by the hill, singing and dancing every Manolla festival. He had thought it would last forever. It did not.
At the age of nine both of Edward’s parents had been killed by bandits on their way home from a large trade deal in Port-Dinas. Edward had been left his parents estate, wine brewery and a large fortune. The only person Edward had left was Gustav, his parents' butler and servant. Over the years Gustav had grown close to the Lorenzos. He and Edward were good friends and after his parents' deaths Edward had decided to fire all of the house staff except for him. So he remained on to help Edward with running the estate and brewery and to keep Edward safe from the cruel world of men.

Today is a special and somber day for me; It is the day that my parents died, eight years ago. When I returned home Gustav will be waiting with his wife, ready to share memories of my parents' life and grieve together. I love them so much. Turning my thoughts to happier things I daydream of my best friend, Aliea, who I had begun to see in an entire new light recently. Her smile makes me grin and her laugh gives me a strange fluttering sensation. But when she looks at me, I feel as if the whole world is falling away. Until it is just her, those deep brown intelligent eyes staring deep into my soul, as if to discover the deep well of love and care that resides there.
If someone was watching Edward walk his daily route towards the docks, they would notice the air of happiness and joy that seemed to surround him.
