As Sosako and Tayumi made their way down the path, the town of North Town gradually came into view. The town's grey and red buildings and shops exuded a unique charm against the backdrop of the surrounding lush greenery. The sound of bustling activity could be heard even from a distance, and the duo quickened their pace, eager to explore the new town.
As they approached the entrance, Sosako couldn't help but hear someone yelling nearby. The young man looked to see a figure dressed in a black leather jacket with matching pants and a creepy white smiling mask concealing their face charging straight for him.
Sosako froze in place as the masked figure jumped over him before running down the sidewalk as a young man came running after him exclaiming: “H-hey! Come back with my d-dokomon!" He stopped beside Sosako, struggling to catch his breath. He had spiky red hair, wearing a black and red hoodie with black jeans.
Tayumi, with a concerned look on his fiery face, looked up at the boy and asked, "Is everything okay? What happened?"
The young man took a moment to catch his breath before responding, "I'm... I'm not sure... Some masked person...they stole my dokomon ring...my only monster was inside..." He seemed disheartened by the unfortunate turn of events, and Sosako couldn't help but feel sympathy for him.
The young tamer placed his hand on the stranger’s shoulder responding: “Don’t worry, me and my dokomon will stop them before they can get too far” Fujiura assured him. The red-haired boy looked up at him with hope in his eyes as the tamer took off in the direction of the thief with his pyro bear running beside him.
“Block his path!” Sosako cried out, making sure to keep his sights locked on their escaping target. Following his tamer's command, the monster unleashed a powerful pillar of flames at the end of the street corner, effectively blocking the masked figure's escape route. An intense wall of fire lit up the area, casting a glow over the scene.
The thief came to an abrupt halt, realizing they were trapped. They turned around to see Sosako racing towards him with a serious look in his eyes. The stolen dokomon ring was clutched in the masked figure's hand, and they seemed prepared to put up a fight to hold onto it. “Tssk, you really think an amateur like you can stop me? I can tell just by looking at your dokomon...you’re nothing but a rookie”
The masked man’s voice sounded dry and emotionless as he spoke, giving off a creepy tone. The thief summoned his dokomon, a formidable beast with a commanding presence. This large gray ogre-like monster stood a towering seven feet tall. With every rippling muscle and sharp tooth, it exuded a sense of raw power and brute force.
The dokomon wore nothing more than a simple brown loincloth, emphasizing it’s primal and untamed nature. the eyes gleamed red with an eerie fury. The monster’s hulking form casted a foreboding shadow over the pair as it growled in anticipation, ready to carry out it’s master’s sinister commands.
"Tch, you're in way over your head, kid. Ogrenar, show them what a real monster can do!" The masked figure's voice carried an air of sinister confidence as he made a quick hand motion, signaling the dokomon to attack.
“Ogre...OGRENARRRR! The fierce creature cried out with a thunderous voice. “Tsssk! Normally I'd settle this 1v1, but in this situation...I'll make an exception! Come Venomite!” As Venomite materialized in a flash of purple light, Sosako and his newly acquainted friend didn't hesitate. They were determined to stop this thief and save the stolen dokomon. The purple spider was ready as it stood on Sosako’s shoulder.
"Venomite, use your toxic web to slow Ogrenar down! Tayumi, hit him with your fire ball!" Sosako commanded. The small creature nodded as it began to spew sticky, poisonous webbing, creating a tangled mess to hinder Ogrenar's movements. Meanwhile, Tayumi unleashed a flaming sphere, which soared through the web and struck the ogre. Ogrenar howled in pain from the fiery attack, temporarily held in place by the thick poisonous webs.
The thief's voice remained dry and emotionless as he responded: " Sigh, you're more persistent than I expected. Ogrenar, quit standing around and crush them!"
Ogrenar, despite being hindered by the web, attempted to break free using their brute strength. “Ogrenarrr! The streets shook as the gray brute broke free from the toxic webbing. In an instant, Ogrenar lunged forward, it’s massive hand reaching out and seizing Tayumi by the face. With a deafening roar, the monster slammed the fiery bear to the ground, creating a fierce shockwave that rippled through the pavement. Tayumi let out a pained cry, feeling the full impact of the brutal attack. Sosako watched in shock as his loyal partner was thrown to the ground.
The masked thief remained unphased as he looked down at the injured bear. "You should've known better than to challenge me. Now, hand over your dokomon ring or prepare for more"
Sosako, clutched his fist tightly and glared at the thief. "I'll never give my ring to a thief like you!" The masked assailant crossed his arms responding: “You may as well surrender before I have my Ogrenar crush you to bits like the useless stain you are, just like your pathetic dokomon”
“Tsssk! Tayumi isn’t pathetic! He's a strong dokomon...I...I just haven’t been a good tamer to him...instead of training and improving his skills, I’ve been more focused on worrying about him and exploring this island for more monsters to add to my team. I should’ve taken more time to train and relax rather then rushing into each battle unprepared. I’m sorry Tayumi and hope when this is over, we can train and show everyone just how strong you really are!”
Sosako's words were filled with trust and love for his Dokomon. He refused to let the thief win and harm his beloved companion. With a surge of flaming energy, Sosako's heartfelt apology and unwavering trust in Tayumi triggered a remarkable transformation. A pillar of flames rose into the sky as Tayumi's small body levitated into the air, surrounded by an awe-inspiring orange light. His evolution was a sight to behold, and as the light faded, the world was introduced to a new form – Embear.
Embear was like a werebear, a tall humanoid bear standing on two legs with flames emanating from it’s glowing orange eyes as a flame aura surged around it’s black fur. Sosako felt a newfound connection with his partner, and together, they were ready to face the masked assailant and his formidable dokomon, Ogrenar.
As the evolved bear touched down before it’s opponent, Embear turned it’s head to the side speaking in a deep voice: “Tell Venomite to retreat...I want to be the one who finishes Ogernar”
The young boy hesitated with a look of surprise on his face before nodding, raising his ring finger up. “Venomite return!” The toxic spider jumped from behind the large gray brute as it was captured back into the ring. “It’s up to you Tayumi!”
The flaming bear smirked putting it’s claws together manifesting a large sphere of flames between both claws. “Heh, you should’ve finished me off while you had the chance"
“Tsssk! CRUSH THEM ALREADY OGRENAR!” Ogrenar lunged forward, preparing to strike, Embear launched the blazing sphere directly into the brute's stomach, causing it to stagger back in agony.
The thief's eyes widened in shock, frozen in disbelief at the once weak cub’s newfound power. The hulking beast growled, attempting to recover from the fiery blow. Embear stood it’s ground, flames dancing around it’s towering figure as it prepared for the next move. “O-ogernar” The dokomon groaned, still winded from the attack.
Clinching it’s gray fists, the large brute pushed off the ground, launching itself high into the air before coming down like a meteor. However, Embear didn't back down. With fierce determination, it threw it’s massive fist into the air, sending a condensed blast of fire hurtling toward Ogrenar.
The impact was devastating with a fiery explosion enveloping Ogrenar's abdomen, causing the beast to plummet to the ground, creating a massive crater upon impact. The brute laid motionless, defeated by the intense power of Embear's fiery blast. The masked figure stood frozen in both fear and shock. “It-it can’t be...O-Ogrenar is a B-tier monster...even with your evolution, that still means your bear should just be a mere C-tier!”
The young tamer stood beside his evolved dokomon. “Looks like you didn’t care about your dokomon enough to help fix their weaknesses. I may have a long way to go as a dokomon tamer, but this fight shows that only tamers who care about their monsters can ever hope to win the fight”
The masked figure gritted his teeth, frustration evident in his eyes. He begrudgingly tossed the stolen ring to Sosako. With a final glare, he vanished in a ray of purple light, leaving the tamer and his powerful companion standing alone amidst the aftermath of their intense battle.
Sosako grasped the ring tightly, relief washing over him as he looked at his fierce partner, Embear. "Great job, Tayumi! We did it!" The werebear nodded with a visible grin in response, it’s fiery aura flickering around it’s body.
“Let’s hurry and get this back to that other tamer” Embear nodded as the pair ran back to the entrance of north town where the red-haired tamer was waiting. The tamer looked relieved as Sosako and Embear returned with the stolen ring. "Wow, thanks a ton! I thought I'd never get my ring back from that creep"
Sosako nodded, happy to have helped. "No problem at all. We can't let thieves get away with this stuff. Take care of your dokomon, alright?" With a nod of gratitude, the red-haired tamer replied, "I will, for sure! Maybe we'll run into each other again"
“Actually, why don’t you join us, it’d be nice to have our own duo, plus it would add more strength to our team if we teamed up rather than going solo” Sosako's invitation caught him by surprise. He blushed and spoke in a shy tone, "I've never really been in a dokomon fight before, so I'm not sure I'd be much help. But if you think I'd be a good addition, I'd be happy to join you. Just... don't expect too much from me, alright?"
Sosako smiled warmly, "We'll help each other get stronger, and I'm sure you'll do great. Welcome to the team!" Still a bit shy, the young boy introduced himself as Sora Yusa. “I just got my monster and capture ring here in North town by my father who’s a scientist that works in his laboratory researching and studying all the different kinds of dokomon on this island. He’s actually one of the one’s who worked on the prototype of the capture ring so tamer’s could carry their monsters around with them without citizens freaking out every time they saw one walking around. As you’ve probably noticed, non-tamers can be very scared of dokomon given their destructive power. Here in North town, we’ve all grown up around monsters and have studied many of their habits to know which are hostile while people who live in fear of dokomon don’t even try to understand them. No one can ever hope to understand monsters if they just see them as destructive creatures”
“Wow, you and your father really sound like you’ve put a lot of work into understanding them and trying to create a place for both humans and monsters to coexist” Fujiura commented with a surprised expression.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
Sora smiled, "Yeah, my dad's research has been a big part of my life. It's important to me that people see that dokomon aren't just destructive creatures. They have their own lives and personalities, just like us. It's also pretty cool to have the chance to explore the world with my new partner, Cryolume"
The dark-haired tamer tilted his head to the side confused. “What’s a cryolume? I haven’t heard of that kind of dokomon before” Sora smiled, "Let me show you, it's easier to understand when you see Cryolume in action" With that, he summoned his dokomon. A small, duck-like creature with soft, blue fur and bright aqua blue eyes appeared before them. It had a cute, round body and short legs, waddling around with a playful and curious demeanor.
"Cryolume is an Ice-type dokomon" Sora explained. "It can create ice and use it for various purposes. Watch this!" He motioned to Cryolume, who suddenly exhaled a frosty breath, creating a small, sparkling ice sculpture of a flower in the air. "It's a bit mischievous, but we make a great team"
Fujiura’s face lit up with excitement as he watched the creature’s little ice creation float in the air. “That’s amazing, I bet Tayumi can do something similar if we worked hard and practiced. Right?” He asked the fire dokomon with a smirk.
Sora grinned, "Absolutely! With training and practice, I'm sure Tayumi can achieve amazing things. We can learn from each other and grow together. It's going to be an exciting journey with all of us as a team!"
Embear nodded in agreement, it’s flaming mane flickering with enthusiasm. It seemed to sense the excitment in it’s tamer and was ready for the adventures to come. Sora led Sosako to North Star Lab, the laboratory where his father worked. The lab was a hub of research, housing many scientists and researchers dedicated to the study of dokomon and creating a harmonious coexistence between humans and these incredible creatures. It was a place where people like Sosako and Sora could learn more about the dokomon world and it’s many mysteries.
As Sosako and Sora entered North Star Lab, they found themselves in a clean and sterile medical lobby. The walls were a pristine white, and the floors were polished to a shine. It was a place that gave off an air of professionalism and advanced research.
They walked towards an elevator at the end of the lobby, which took them down to the lower levels where the heart of the laboratory was located. As the elevator doors opened on the lower floors, they were greeted by a bustling scientific environment. Researchers in lab coats were busy at work, studying various dokomon specimens and analyzing data.
At the center of the lab, they encountered a middle-aged man with short red hair and hazel eyes. He wore a white lab coat with the North Star Lab logo on it: the letters: “N.S” in bold purple letters within a silver circle. in This was Mark Yusa, Sora's father and a prominent scientist in the field of dokomon research.
Mark looked up from his work, his eyes widening in surprise and joy as he saw his son. "Sora! You're back," he exclaimed, rushing forward to embrace his child. Then, he noticed Sosako and extended a hand in greeting. "Welcome to North Star Lab. I'm Mark Yusa, Sora's father. It's a pleasure to meet you" Mark had a warm and welcoming demeanor, and he seemed genuinely pleased to meet his son's new friend and fellow tamer.
Sora spoke with enthusiasm, "Dad, this is Sosako. We met in the forest while I was looking for Cryolume. He helped me get my stolen dokomon ring back" Mark's eyes lit up with curiosity, "Oh, that's fascinating! It's not every day we have a new tamer join us, especially one with such a strong sense of justice. Welcome to our research facility, Sosako. I hope you find your time here both enlightening and enjoyable"
The lab was abuzz with activity, and it was clear that North Star Lab was a place where both humans and dokomon were treated with respect and care, fostering a sense of cooperation between the two worlds.
Mark noticed the young tamer’s ring and asked if he could see it for a moment. Sosako was hesitant at first since Venomite was inside but nodded handing it to him. Mark carefully examined Sosako's capture ring, taking note of its design and specifications. After a brief inspection, he commented: "This is an older model capture ring, but it seems to be in good condition. However, if you're interested, I could offer you an upgraded model that is more advanced and user-friendly. The new version includes additional features and enhancements to improve your dokomon-taming experience. Also, as a token of our appreciation for your support, I'll provide it to you at no charge. What do you say?"
Sosako's eyes lit up with excitement. "That sounds amazing! Thank you so much, Professor Yusa" Mark smiled warmly. "You're very welcome. We're always looking to support young tamers like yourself who are passionate about understanding and coexisting with dokomon. It's part of our mission here at North Star Lab. We'll get the new capture ring ready for you right away"
Sora, thought for a moment before asking his father, "Are you sure, dad? Giving a brand-new prototype to a D-rank tamer? Isn't that a bit much?" Professor Yusa chuckled heartily, shaking his head. "Don't be jealous Sora, it's not about the tamer's rank...it's about their dedication and potential. This young tamer has the enthusiasm and curiosity we need to help push our research forward. Plus, it's a great opportunity for us to get feedback on our latest technology from someone who's just starting their journey"
Sora shrugged, still a bit surprised but understanding his father's point of view. "Okay dad, if you say so. Just remember, you promised to upgrade Cryolume's abilities soon too!" Mark ruffled his son's red hair with a smile. "You got it, Sora. We'll make sure Cryolume gets the enhancements they deserve as well"
"Hold on a moment, Sosako. I almost forgot to mention some key features of your new capture ring. This upgraded model is equipped with a scanner that can detect nearby dokomon within a 50-foot radius, making it easier for you to locate and capture them during your journey. In addition, we've transferred all the data from your previous capture ring to the new one. Your captured dokomon, their profiles, and all the information you've collected will be available at your fingertips. Lastly. It can also estimate the combat power of any nearby dokomon just by scanning it”
Sosako's eyes sparkled with excitement. "That's incredible, Professor Yusa! Thank you so much. This will make our journey even more amazing!" With a warm smile, Sora's father replied, "You're very welcome, Sosako. We hope this new technology will assist you in your adventures and contribute to the coexistence between tamers and dokomon. If you would excuse me, I must get back to work”
With that Professor Yusa walked back over to the other scientists around a large table with a black egg in the center. Sosako was interested to see what kind of egg it was, but Sora pulled him away as they made their way back outside.
Sosako turned to Sora with an eager gleam in his eye. "Hey, Sora, I'd love to have a battle with our dokomon. I want to see just how strong Cryolume is" Sora scratched his cheek shyly. "Well, sure, but I have to tell you, Cryolume is in it’s base form, it hasn't had much battle experience. But I'm up for it if you are"
Sosako grinned. "That's perfect! It'll be a great way for both of us to learn and get stronger together!” Sora led Sosako through town, making their way to the impressive monster dome which stood in the north end of the city. The large white dome stood out prominently in the city. As they entered, Sosako was in awe at the sight. The battle arena in the center resembled a colosseum, rows of seats surrounded it, giving it a grand and imposing appearance.
The arena floor was circular, comprised of hundreds of shiny black tiles, with the North Star Labs logo proudly displayed in the center. The monster dome was a place where tamers and their dokomon could put their skills to the test and showcase their abilities to the world.
Sosako couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement. "This place is amazing! I can't wait to have a real battle in a dokomon tournament here!" Sora looked at Sosako with a serious expression. "Dokomon tournaments are no walk in the park. The participants are some of the most skilled tamers with B-A tier monsters. I've seen many new tamers come here, confident in their abilities, only to be defeated by elite tamers with powerful monsters. It's not something to take lightly"
He paused for a moment before continuing, "But it's a great way to test our strength and learn from experienced tamers. We'll get there someday, but for now, let's focus on our own training and becoming stronger together"
Sora and Sosako clenched their fists and bumped them together in a gesture of their new camaraderie and building rivalry, a symbol of their shared determination to grow stronger together. With newfound energy and resolve, they stepped onto the arena, ready to put their skills and their dokomon's abilities to the test. Even with no one watching, Fujiura couldn’t help but feel his heart racing with excitement.
Embear voiced it’s concerns, their fiery mane flickering with worry. "Hey, Sosako, isn't it a bit unfair for you to have me battle Cryolume when it’s still in it’s base form?"
Sosako considered Embear's point and nodded, understanding the sentiment. "You're right, Embear. We should have a fair match. I'll have Venomite fight in your place, so it's a fairer battle"
Sora agreed, "That sounds fair. It'll be a great way to see how our monsters perform and learn from each other" The young tamer raised his hand into the air. “Embear, return!” Sora watched as the intimidating monster was pulled inside the ring in a flow of orange light before he then aimed his hand in his opponent's direction. “Come, Venomite!”
As Venomite materialized in a flash of purple light, Sora couldn't help but take a step back, clearly uncomfortable with the sight of the creepy, spider dokomon. However, he stood his ground, determined to support his partner in the upcoming battle. Meanwhile, Sosako prepared for the match, a confident grin spread across his face as he eagerly awaited the battle to begin.
Sora took a deep breath and pushed past his fear of spiders, determined not to let it affect the battle. He raised his fist into the air, summoning Cryolume in a ray of pale blue light. The ice dokomon emerged with a determined look in it’s aqua blue eyes, ready to showcase it’s strength and abilities.
Cryolume let out a confident quack before launching an icicle from it’s beak straight for Venomite. The icy projectile sped through the air, aimed directly at the spider-like dokomon. However, Venomite swiftly evaded the attack, leaping out of the way with remarkable agility. As it dodged the icicle, Venomite retaliated by spewing webbing from it’s mouth, attempting to trap Cryolume in it’s sticky strands. The battle had begun, and both tamers and their dokomon were determined to prove their strength.
Cryolume quacked in a panic as it struggled to evade the barrage of webs from Venomite. However, one shot of webbing managed to land on it’s foot, trapping it in place. Cryolume desperately flapped it’s wings, struggling to free itself from the sticky strands as Venomite rapidly closed in.
Sora, his voice filled with panic cried out for Cryolume to freeze the webbing quickly before the enemy monster could reach them. “Hurry Cryolume! Don’t let it reach you!” Cryolume, with a determined quack, nodded releasing a breath of cold air from it’s beak. The web quickly began to freeze before abruptly cracking apart, utterly shattered.
The ice dokomon managed to break free just in the nick of time, narrowly evading Venomite's pounce attack as it attempted to bite it’s target with it’s sharp fangs. Just before the fight progressed, a familiar figure emerged from the entrance slowly approaching them.
A tense atmosphere filled the air, Sora couldn't help but notice the anger in his friend's expression as the man with spiky blue hair approached the arena. Akira Valestrum, with a smirk on his face, seemed ready for the battle ahead. His smirk unwavering, couldn't resist taunting the young tamer as he looked at Sosako. "I thought you would've given up on becoming a dokomon tamer with such a weak monster as a partner. But here you are, trying to prove yourself. Our battle should’ve taught you that you’re not caught out to be a tamer"
His words held a challenging tone, it was clear that the battle between Sosako and Akira wasn’t over. Sosako, his fists clenched, and his eyes filled with confidence and a hint of hatred, stood before Akira who wore a smug expression. The tension between them was intense. Sosako wasn't about to back down; instead, he took a step forward and challenged Akira to a battle, his voice now serious: "I can beat you, and I'm going to prove it"
Akira's voice was filled with overconfidence and arrogance as he walked onto the arena, his every step exuding a sense of superiority, challenging both Sora and Sosako to a one-on-two fight, pitting his powerful Zapto ball against their two dokomon. “Hehe, I'll show you how a real tamer deals with weak monsters like yours”
Sora and Sosako stood together on the right side of the arena, determination in their eyes, ready for the challenge. Akira, on the other hand, stood confidently on the left, summoning his Zapto in a flash of yellow electricity. Sosako returned Venomite to his capture ring, and with a burst of flames, he summoned Embear to his side. The flaming werebear dokomon stood tall, it’s flaming mane casting a warm glow across the arena as it prepared for the battle ahead. The one-on-two match was about to begin, with Sosako, Sora, and Akira ready to put their skills and dokomon to the test.
Sosako's voice held a determined edge as he addressed Akira, "It's time to put you in your place. Just because you have a strong dokomon, you have no right to treat others as if they're beneath you!"
Akira, on the other hand, couldn't help but laugh in response, taunting Sosako and Sora as he retorted” "You really think a couple of D-tier tamers stand a chance against my Zapto? You're in for a rude awakening...Zapto...use electro ball!”
“Zap! Zap!" As Zapto surged electricity through it’s body, it lunged straight for them like an electrified bullet. However, before it could make contact, Embear threw both arms out, manifesting a ring of towering flames around itself and Cryolume. The flames acted as a protective barrier, shielding them from the incoming attack. Zapto collided with the thick flames created by Embear, getting burned in the process. The powerful impact sent it tumbling backward onto it’s back, with minor burns from the fiery barrier.
After a moment of lying there, it quickly got up angerly flailing it’s arms with an annoyed look on it’s face. “Grrrrr! ZAP! ZAP! ZAP!” Akira glared at his opponents, his confidence unwavering. He swiftly threw his arm out, commanding his monster to use lightning Strike. Zapto raised it’s furry palm towards the ceiling, and a fierce bolt of yellow lightning came down, striking Embear head-on. The powerful impact causing the poor werebear to howl in pain, falling to it’s knees covered in bruises as the ring of flames surrounding the duo was extinguished, leaving the fiery dokomon vulnerable.
“I-I'm sorry” the pyro dokomon groaned beside Cryolume. The small blue duck began to quack franticly, worried about it’s friend before standing between Embear and Zapto ball, guarding them with an angry look on it’s face. Sora watched in awe at the sight of Cryolume guarding Embear with determination. He was taken aback by the depth of the small blue duck’s resolve to protect it’s fellow dokomon, something he hadn't seen before in his partner. (Cryolume... I've never seen you like this...You really want to protect them, don't you?)
Cryolume, still resolute, let out a hostile quack manifesting three icicles above it’s head before firing them straight toward their enemy. Sadly, Zapto ball quickly dodged each projectile with electrified speed. Akira couldn’t help but mock Cryolume for it’s fruitless efforts, convinced that he had the upper hand. "Is that all you've got? Such basic attacks won’t get you anywhere. You might as well submit before you’re defeat as well, just like that mere cub when we first fought"
Sora, witnessing Cryolume's struggle, couldn't bear to see his partner's determination go to waste. He felt a surge of emotion and began to speak with passion and encouragement to Cryolume. His words were filled with hope and belief in his dokomon:
"Don't give up, Cryolume! I know you have potential! and I know you can be so much more. It's time to push your limits and become the powerful dokomon I believe you are! We're in this together, and together, we'll show them what you're truly capable of!"
Cryolume quacked in response, seemingly inspired by Sora's words and determined not to let his tamer down. A wave of cold air surrounded the arena like a faint blizzard as a turquoise hooded cloak slowly formed like ice before fully manifesting into a cloak with it’s body growing to four feet. Cryolume had evolved right before everyone's eyes! The atmosphere filled with excitement and anticipation as the dokomon had evolved into it’s second form, signaling a significant change in the battle.
Now, with newfound strength and enhanced abilities, Cryolume was ready to face Zapto ball and Akira on equal terms. Sora's speech had ignited a spark of potential within Cryolume, showcasing the unbreakable bond between tamer and dokomon. The tide of the battle had shifted, and it was time for Akira to face two evolved dokomon...
