Chapter 1 beginnings

In the beginning, there was nothing but an endless darkness. But from the darkness, a bright blue light appeared at the center of this darkness, and out came seven gods with six angelic beasts. Using the angelic beasts as weapons the gods shaped our world starting with the stars. After marking the stars they made the sun to light our galaxy, next came the four plants. Having chosen the second planet that is where they cultivated life.

The life that they had created had split off into humans and beasts due to a god rebelling against the others. After the god was killed his angelic beast disappeared along with the god of life and the god of the sun. A man with his face hidden closed a large book and whispered “But that was over ten thousand years ago that won’t affect you.”.

Looking up at him after looking around the yard I whispered back saying “Do I have to know this?”. As the man was gonna respond a man walked out of the nearby forest next to the yard. The faceless man had disappeared without a trace turning to face the man who came out of the forest. He had a giant cut across his stomach and bite marks on his legs. Walking up to him as he fell so I could help him but he put a necklace in my hand. As he was passing out he yelled at me “I know you're still young but you have to take this and run, don't turn back!”.

After getting scared I ran inside to talk to the village head so he could help me. After running up to him he started to try and calm me down “Calm down can you tell me what happened?” After taking a deep breath I started to calm down. I started to tell him “A man came out of the woods and gave me something and told me to run.”. He asked me “Show me what he handed you, it could be dangerous?” Pulling out the necklace it had a ring as a pendant that I had just seen. As I showed him he just sat there looking at it. Looking around he picked me up and whispered to me “Let’s go out for a bit, I want to show you something.”.

As we left the house we went into the yard and walked past the injured man to enter the forest. The village head began to talk while he carried me further into the forest “Listen no one was supposed to find that so we have to put that back.”. As we walked past piles of skeletons there was a giant stone box left open. As he put me in the box he looked down at me and said “You had to touch the necklace so please just stay in here and don’t come out.” While Trying to get out of the box I started to scream “Wait don’t leave me here!”. As he closed the box I began to have trouble breathing as I was running out of air and it became pitch black. After a few minutes, the air began to run out and I started to gasp for air. I began to hear yelling coming from outside.

After the noise disappeared all I could hear was my gasping then the box began to open slightly. the light that began to shine through the opening blinded me. The person who opened the box was the faceless man who was telling me the story earlier. He pulled me out of the box and told me “I can’t come to see you anymore so I need you to do me a favor.”. As I began to slowly pass out I said “Yes I can.”. He put me down on the floor and sat down next to me “I need you to stay here and protect that” he said as he took the necklace and put it on me. “Just remember one thing: never break the ring on the necklace.” Was the last thing I heard as I passed out.

When I woke up I was next to the stone box but all the skeletons were gone. All there was around me were trees, bushes, and a small rusty dagger. I picked up the dagger and it had a small inscription. All it said on the dagger was “the favor” As I said it aloud I heard rustling in the bushes. I tried to get to my feet to run but I couldn’t get up so I pointed the dagger at the bushes. Out of the bushes came a small brown squirrel holding a nut. After seeing the squirrel I put down the dagger and let out a sigh of relief. I began to think about how long I would have to do this favor. I decided on an idea and started crawling over to a tree. Gripping the dagger I carved into the tree my name and age. After I was done carved into the tree was a cazlid and underneath that was the number eleven.

After I was done I leaned against the tree and tried to tree and stand up. After I got on my feet I started to try and find some place to sleep as the sun was starting to go down. Walking past some trees I couldn’t see anywhere to sleep and the sun had just gone down. In the dark forest, the night began to slowly be illuminated by hundreds of floating lights of all kinds of colors. I gave up on trying to find somewhere to sleep and lay down under a tree. To fall asleep I started saying the colors I saw “red, blue, green, yellow, pink, orange, purple, white” I repeated that until I fell asleep.

While sleeping I had a dream about the faceless man, he was sitting on a throne looking off in the distance. When I tried to turn and see what he was looking at I couldn’t see anything but a green light. Even when I tried to get close to see, I still couldn’t see anything. Turning back to the faceless man he was looking directly into my eyes I still couldn’t see his face. But I could feel our eyes looking into each other's eyes. He stood up and pushed me away and I began to fall into a deep darkness. I was screaming non-stop as I was falling when I was about to hit the ground I woke up to a pain in my legs.

The squirrel from before was crawling on my leg scratching it. Startled I started to yell “Get off me, stop go away” while kicking my leg. After the squirrel was thrown off my leg it scurried away. After a second of thought, I decided to make a place to sleep. After getting up I started to gather materials to make a bed. Out of boredom, I started to sing “Little Boy in a Raft”. Bending over to pick up a pile of leaves I continued to sing “rowed across the lazy shore”. Hearing another rustling in the bushes I engorged it thinking it was another squirrel. While putting down the leaves I heard a low growl coming from the bushes. Hearing the growl I tried to grab the dagger but fog began to form around me.

After picking up the dagger I pointed it towards the bush where I heard the growl. But there was nothing there but that was where the fog was coming from. Walking over to the bushes I started to talk to the bushes “Hello buddy I’m not a threat” while a wolf came up from behind and bit my shoulder. I let out a scream but when I turned around it was gone. Gripping the dagger with both hands I started to yell out “Help is there anybody around!”. Right after I yelled the wolf took a bite at my calf and barely missed. I tried to jump on the wolf but I fell through the wolf and it was gone.

Rolling over onto my back the wolf leaped down from the sky through the fog. Holding up the dagger pointing it at the wolf. The wolf fell with the dagger ending up through its head. The fog began to dissipate and all that was left was a somewhat see-through gray wolf with black markings on its body. After catching my breath I pushed the wolf's body off me. I was covered in its blood. While trying to get up my wound started to get worse. I grabbed the leaves put them on the bite and tried to get up again. I grabbed a branch to help me stand up and I started to use it as a cane. After looking around real quick I pulled the dagger out of the wolf's head.

After pulling out the dagger I ripped off a piece of fabric and tied it to the makeshift cane. Using the cane I tried to move the wolf's body away from my leaf bed. I yelled “What was that wolf” as I was moving the wolf's body. Thinking back on what the faceless man had said I spoke out what I had realized “That thing was a beast, why was there a beast like that.” After I moved the wolf I sat on the ground and tried to relax. “Why does a wolf need to be able to turn into a fog!?” I yelled out while holding my wound. “And why does it need to be out here!” As I got back up to go back to the leaf bed I heard more rustling coming from the bushes around me.

Gripping my makeshift spear I pointed it around at the bushes. From four different bushes fog started to pour out surrounding me and the trees. Frantically looked around to see if I could spot the wolf before it struck but as I turned around two wolves bit my legs and pulled me to the ground. As they were pulling I started stabbing the spear into the ground so I could stay in the same place. The sound of ripping skin rang through the fog as the wolves ripped off pieces of my skin. Letting out a scream from pain I bit my lip to try and get ready to swing my spear but when I did the wolves were gone. All that was there was a puddle of blood. Seeing my blood I started to have trouble thinking All I could do was panic and swing the spear around frantically. Tears ran down my face and yelled “No go away! Leave me alone!”.

The four wolves formed above me and leaped down at me. Each of the wolves bit into one of my limbs and tried to pull off a bit. All I could do was scream feeling my limbs being mauled and my tears running down my face. I couldn't even hear my screams, my voice had gone silent, all I could see was the sky, and my white hair was covered in my blood. I started to pass out screaming “Help I don’t want to die!”. As my eyes began to close I saw a purple light shine right after everything had gone dark and I couldn’t feel anything, just an endless darkness. There was no light. I couldn't remember anything but the pain I felt as I was being ripped apart. Just as I remembered the purple light it had appeared in front of me lighting up the endless darkness.
