Chapter 293

CHAPTER 293

Madeline only hesitated for a moment before she nodded. "I am very happy… You have given me things I never ever dared to dream of before. Just like what you said, I feel calm and at peace with you by my side. And also… you give me a sense of security. You are like a mountain. The children and I don't have to be afraid of anything as long as we have you."

It was just that she always felt an unease about how this 'mountain' might someday leave them.

She was afraid this happiness wouldn't last long.

It would probably have to take them after the wedding for her to stop thinking this way.

Hearing that, Sebastian nodded with a smile. "Sounds like a great evaluation to me."

She quickly avoided his gaze and said in an embarrassed tone, "I am just speaking the truth."

"It is settled, then." He murmured, "First, set aside some time. I will bring you to meet my friends so that you can get to know each other. And after that, you can liaise with the planning department to see whether you like the wedding ceremony procedure they have planned. The last thing we have to do is let my father help us set a time for the wedding."

"Mm, alright." Madeline nodded and came to a brief pause before she thought of something. Hesitantly, she mentioned, "Should we tell my… parents about this?"

"Sure," he replied cheerfully. "Let's do it according to the custom here in Dusktown. My father will pick out a few suitable days and after we invite your parents to have a meal together, we can ask your parents to choose a day to hold the wedding out of the choices available. Since we are going to get

married for real, we should follow the custom in Dusktown. You should bring it up to your parents when it is convenient for you. Our families can have a meal together after my father chooses the dates for our wedding."

"Okay, I will." Madeline nodded.

Seeing her being sweet and well-behaved, Sebastian couldn't help but rub her head like he was patting the heads of their children. "Such an obedient girl!" he cooed.

Weirdo! She immediately wondered if he had been drugged or was drunk to behave this way.

"Are you sleepy?" He looked at the clock. "It is time to sleep. Don't you women always talk about how you can't stay up late and that you want to get your beauty sleep?"

Madeline looked at the clock too, and it was only then that she realized it indeed was late already.

Still, they couldn't possibly sleep here!

"Shall we go back to the master bedroom to sleep?" She sat up and continued, "If we sleep here, Buddy will get grumpy if he doesn't see us tomorrow morning."

"Sure, let's go back to the room to sleep." Sebastian also sat up. "When are you going to tell Aldo and Buddy that they have to move to the children's room to sleep? They have grown up. It was fine when we didn't do husband-and-wife things before, but since we will be a real couple after the wedding, it may be inconvenient for them to sleep with us."

How is he so unabashedly talking about something so embarrassing? Madeline quietly whined. He is making me look as if I am not an open-minded person because I am shy.

I can't help but feel shy, though!

"Let's talk about it after our wedding, okay? Buddy has a trauma about staying in the children's room. He will be unhappy and even have nightmares if we were to tell him to sleep there," she mumbled.

"He has to come to terms with it somehow," Sebastian replied after hearing her words. "He is a boy. It will be inconvenient for him to keep sleeping in the same bed as his mother."

Madeline then tilted her head and looked at him. "Then why don't you talk to Buddy instead of letting me talk to him?"

"You and him have a better relationship. He likes you more. What am I going to do if he doesn't like me anymore after I go to him?" Sebastian huffed arrogantly.

Upon hearing that, Madeline was at a loss for words. This man and his blatant schemes!

"Fine," She finally sighed resignedly. "I will think of a way."

In fact, there was no fault in what Sebastian said. Quincy and Joel were no longer young children after all. It might not be appropriate to always let them sleep with her.

Especially… If it really is like what Sebastian said about us having a… proper married life in the future, having the children in our bedroom might make things difficult.

Madeline suddenly thought of his passionate performance earlier, and she immediately blushed and started to wrap her clothes tightly around her body. She left the guest room after she got out of bed and put on her slippers.

When they arrived at the master bedroom, the children were both sound asleep.

Seeing this, Sebastian leaned over to take a closer look at them as he commented softly, "Aren't they both sleeping just fine without us? Us not being here doesn't seem to bother them much."

She thought for a while and said, "It is because I accompanied them to sleep, so they must think I am still beside them. They don't feel safe sleeping by themselves. It is easier for them to wake up at night."

"Should I arrange for two bodyguards to sleep with them?" Sebastian suggested. "Won't they feel safer if they have someone with them?"

Madeline paused for a beat before muttering, "That should be fine."

"Yes, sounds like a plan to me, too." The more Sebastian thought about it, the more he felt that it could work. "To be honest, I don't feel good about letting them leave us and go to sleep alone. What if someone decides to steal my adorable sons? I will have the wall between the children's room and the guest room knocked through, and I will let two bodyguards stay beside the boys' bedroom. Emory and the other three will do. With two in every shift, they can take turns to sleep with Aldo and Buddy."

Madeline couldn't help wondering how anyone was supposed to steal the boys away when Sebastian had those top-notch assistants around him, and had more than 10 bodyguards that kept the perimeter of Sun Garden surrounded like it was a prison.

He really is too… Forgive me for my lack of vocabulary, but I really can't find the proper word to describe him.

However, this seemed like a good way to go about things.

Nodding her head in agreement, Madeline said, "I think that would be fine."

"Okay, we will do just that!" Sebastian pecked the boys. After a slight pause, he turned to kiss Madeline before he wished her good night.

Her cheeks turned red again at that. "G-Good night."

"Why do you get embarrassed so easily?" Sebastian chuckled, in which she only replied after she calmed down, "Isn't this normal? After all, you are my first boyfriend."

"I am not your boyfriend." He kissed her again and said solemnly, "I am your man!"

He soon laughed when she didn't answer him. "You are a woman who has a man from now on. I will be your shelter to whatever storm that may come your way!" Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

"It is weird for you to talk like this," Madeline grumbled, to which Sebastian asked, "What is so weird about it?"

"A noble and aloof man wouldn't say something so down-to-earth! Your words don't match your vibe at all!" Madeline exclaimed.

"You will get used to it," he said. "I have many friends from all kinds of backgrounds. Strictly speaking, I am not the kind of wealthy and noble kind of untouchable young master that you think I am. As you said, I am down-to-earth. You will see what I mean after we get closer."

She gave a small nod at that. "Oh," she muttered.

"Oh?" Sebastian's eyebrows were raised as he turned to look at her and ask, "What is your type? Do you like aloof and cold guys, or do you prefer your men to be humble? If you like aloof ones, I can put on a show for you."

Madeline did not know how to respond to that. Put on a show? Seriously?!

It was probably because she had been bickering with him too much tonight that it was beyond her capacity to continue. "I think you are good. There is no need to put on any show. It is going to be tiring for you. Just be you."

"True. Isn't it sad how I have to fake it even when I am in my own house with my own wife? But…"

His gaze lingered on her face as he continued, "I am willing to fake it if you like it. I don't care if it is tiring."

And once again, Madeline could not find the words to answer him. Did he just flirt with me again?
