Borrow your mana?
Yeah. They want to kill you. And even though you are regenerating right now, you aren't invincible. And, the humans are going to be very suspicious. An imp of your level isn't supposed to be able to regenerate.
I looked down. My shiny black skin tissue was wriggling like a nest of maggots, then began knitting itself together.
One of the humans stumbled away in surprise.
So....you need to use my mana and blast your way out of here, Lucifer finished.
The one who stumbled away started saying something.
That's...interesting, I thought reservedly, a tinge of excitement flushing my cheeks.
The man who had been towering over me and pointing was still facing the other way, talking. I grabbed his finger tightly and-
Wait how do I do this again?
Use your emotions, Lucifer ordered.
I thought about the time that I had been picked last for dodgeball in PE class.
Lucifer reprimanded me in a stern manner with, Um...I mean like an event in your life which extremely pissed you off.
I mean.... I jokingly tried to explain.
Lucifer cut me off. No. Something else.
The man noticed my hanging onto him and, annoyed, grabbed me by my shirt and hoisted me up.
I thought about my current situation.
That works.
I grasped his other wrist. The adult male yelped and dropped me.
Lucifer added, Just so you know, I'm not as powerful as I was in my Demon King form. I just remembered that you will only lightly bruise with your attacks. I rolled my eyes, but the news didn't keep me down for long.
Laughing in exhilaration and also out of relief I hadn't had my lights punched out, I reached out with my scale-crusted hand and touched an ankle.
The man fell over, a yellowish splotch suddenly coloring his skin, face scrunched up in clear pain.
Stolen novel; please report.
Now that his height wasn't as intimidating, I grew more bold, grabbed his head with both hands and thrust my knee into his left nostril. Another human let out an angry sound and lunged at me.
I dropped my victim and dashed away.
I gotta get out of here, I thought, forcing myself to stop breathing so hard. The grass whipped at my chest, as my head barely cleared the top of the leaves by three inches. If I get into a fight with them surrounding me like that...I'll look worse than Mayweather's girlfriend.
I ran, feet pounding the ground. I was looking straight forward so I didn't see the dip in the landscape when I reached it. One second I was treading grass and the next I was zipping through the air. Unsteady, I hit the ground with bad balance and tumbled into a tree, which put a stop to my momentum.
There was yelling behind me still, so I knew I couldn't stay down for long. Bracing myself, I hoisted myself up with the help of a branch. I tried to jog forward and rammed into a wall.
Getting up again, I touched the wall, football tackled it, and fell to the ground while clutching my head. Okay so I thought brute force would solve this...but it isn't working. Señor I'm-so-helpful-except-when-I-could-actually-be-helpful, please help me out here.
Lucifer replied, Honestly? I don't sense any mana so your guess is as good as mine.
The green wall in front of me wasn't giving any hints, so of course I jabbed my finger at it.
The voices were getting closer now.
My nail stuck itself into a crease, so curiosity, of course, dictated that I pry it open. It struggled against my ridiculously weak hands (was I this weak as a human? I hope not) before it gave way. Underneath was white.
Abruptly the two green parts shot up.
I hadn't been fiddling with a wall.
The monster's pupil swiveled down to stare right at me.
