The higher being sat in front of the magical screen projected on his wall, his favorite in Divine Diversions was being attacked by several smaller realms, and sadly was losing.
"Come on, you idiot! The assholes are sneaking up behind you!"
There was a pshitzzzz sound of a bottle of carbonated beverage behind him, as a shadow quickly sat beside him taking a large drink of it's newly acquired beverage.
"So your man is losing eh Bart?" asked the newly arrived being.
With a snort of shock and recognition Bart looked over, "Yeah, gettin' his ass handed to him, so what brings you here Simon?"
"My son," was the reply, with a heavy dose of regret mixed with sadness and resignation.
"Is it really almost that time?" Bart said with a shake of his head, his eyes dimmed with sadness.
Simon nodded, then took another swig of the carbonated ambrosia within. After a few minutes of uncomfortable silence between the two, the screen in front of them turned pure white with some black dots and lines on it. The lines and dots squiggled around until they formed a very basic face.

"You know, there is a way to help him," the face said, its eyes shifted back and forth rapidly.
"System," said Bart, "what way, and why do I think you have something to do with the problem in the first place."
The face's dot for eyes shifted back and forth even faster, "Ummmm, because, ermmmm well you see, I was watching when the twins formed and welllllllll..... I noticed that Tobias' soul was not only very very new, but not fully formed, so to keep it from disappearing, I kind of ... *mumble mumble*"
Simon shot out of his seat, hands clenched into fists at his side, he screamed at the face, "WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY SON!"
The face flinched, then replied, "I added some random soul fragments I found laying around."
Now Bart was also standing, his face purple with anger as he advanced towards the face, "I will shut you..."
"Wait, please, if we put him in the games he will have a body the soul can sync with," two stick hands appeared on the screen, covering the scared, crying system face. This was followed by a few minutes of absolute silence, when a new voice, a feminine voice entered the conversation.
"That could work for our grandson," followed by murmurs of agreement from four other people, who were just now noticed inside the room.
