Scene 5
INSIDE MAMITHA'S APARTMENT -HALL
Mamitha sifted through every email and file on her laptop, hoping to find some trace of the eerie video that had played. She told herself it was probably just a glitch, maybe some clip left running after the last movie she'd watched. But even as she tried to dismiss the whole incident, a lingering unease settled over her—it had felt disturbingly real, too real to ignore. She shook her head, trying to brush it off, but the unsettling sensation lingered.
Just as she began to let herself relax, her phone suddenly buzzed, making her jump. She glanced down to see Rishi's name on the screen. Smiling, she reached to pick it up, but the call ended. She dialed him back, switching to speakerphone as she moved to the mirror, brushing her hair and touching up a bit. The phone rang a few times, and finally, the line connected.
"Rishi?" she called, waiting for his familiar voice. There was nothing but silence. "Rishi, are you there?"
The line crackled, and a low, distorted voice echoed from her phone, a stretched-out whisper that unmistakably murmured her name, "Maaa-mii-thaaa..."
She froze, her heart pounding, eyes fixed on the phone. Just as she was about to end the call, Rishi's voice cut in, his tone warm and lighthearted.
"Mamitha? Hello? Are you there?"
It took her a moment to shake off the chills. "Y-Yeah, yeah, I'm here!" she stammered, forcing a laugh. "Sorry, I think the call glitched or something."
"Hey, sorry if I startled you. It's raining like crazy here, so I might be a bit late," he explained, sounding slightly frustrated. "Roads are completely jammed."
Mamitha smiled, her nerves beginning to settle. "That's alright, just be safe. But just so you know... I don't think I can wait much longer." She lowered her voice, a playful tone seeping in. "I... miss you. I... want you, and I'm starting to go a little crazy here."
He chuckled, a hint of eagerness in his voice. "You're not helping my drive, babe. Now I'm even more tempted"
She laughed, feeling some of the tension melt away. "Good! Now, hurry up, but drive safe, and get here soon. I'll be waiting."
"See you soon, beautiful," he replied, his voice warm and reassuring before he ended the call.
She decided to freshen up, adding some light makeup and a bit of body lotion before throwing herself back onto her bed. Pulling her laptop closer, she queued up some of her favorite music videos, letting the comforting rhythm and familiar lyrics wash over her. Time slipped by as the songs played one after another, and before she knew it, nearly half an hour had passed. She glanced at the clock—it was already 3 a.m.
Yet, despite her efforts to relax, she couldn't quite shake the sense of being watched, that same prickling feeling on the back of her neck. Shaking her head, she focused on the screen, trying to lose herself in the music, hoping it would drown out whatever unease lingered in her mind.
MAMITHA'S APARTMENT - HALL
Mamitha's attention was focused on her laptop, the glow of the screen filling the quiet room, when a faint knock echoed from the front door. She ignored it, assuming she'd imagined the sound. A few minutes later, a second, louder knock interrupted her focus. This time, she wondered if it could be Rishi. She was sure the watchman wouldn't allow visitors up without a call, but the thought of Rishi waiting outside made her heart skip.
Feeling a surge of excitement, she ran to the door and pulled it open, ready to welcome him. But there was no one there. Just as she peeked around the corner, Rishi suddenly jumped out with a playful grin, making her gasp.
"Rishi!" she snapped, clutching her chest as her pulse raced.
He raised his hands in surrender. "Sorry, sorry! I just couldn't resist." He smiled sheepishly, and Mamitha shook her head, a mix of relief and annoyance.
After a few more playful jabs at him and scolding him for a moment, she softened, and he stepped inside, closing the door behind him. Rishi placed a six-pack of beer on the coffee table, popping one open for her. She took a sip, feeling the cool liquid ease her nerves as he wrapped his arms around her from behind. She closed her eyes, savoring the moment as his lips brushed against her neck, his hands gliding along her waist and chest over her t-shirt. with each touch, she felt the stress of the last few weeks melt away.
Setting her beer down, she turned to face him, their eyes meeting before she leaned in, drawn by his warmth. His hands slid into her boxers onto her bare back, pulling her closer as he pressed his lips to hers, the kiss deepening with every second. She felt her body relax and give in, feeling his heartbeat in sync with her own. He gently lifted her t-shirt, his eyes lighting up as he took her in, admiring every curve. His lips found their way along her neck and shoulders as her hands explored his chest, she helped him slip off his shirt, and running her hands over his chest, savoring the warmth of his skin against hers.
MAMITHA'S APARTMENT BEDROOM
He picked her up effortlessly, and she wrapped her legs around his waist, her hands sliding into his hair as they kissed with growing urgency and he carried her to the bedroom. He laid her on the bed, and she helped him remove his jeans as he slid her boxers off. They moved in sync, lost in the moment, clinging to each other as if nothing else mattered, the room seemed to grow warmer, she wrapped her arms around his neck as he leaned in, their lips meeting in a kiss that grew deeper, filled with longing neither wanted to end. They lay entwined, Rishi's touch soothing away the weight of the past few weeks. He traced gentle kisses along her neck, chest, waist, his warmth helping her forget every worry and tension that had built up over time. Slowly, he moved down, his kisses, his touch delicate and attentive.

Mamitha closed her eyes, surrendering to the sensations, Rishi's hands traced down her body, resting gently on her thighs, his touch both calming and electric. His fingers pressed deep into her smooth skin, firm but tender, grounding her in the moment as she let herself relax completely. His gentle, steady pressure, she breathed deeply, feeling tension melt under his touch, her worries dissipating as she feeling the pleasure, in his presence, she found a release that words couldn't capture—a peace and pleasure that left her feeling free, they continued together in a rhythm that brought them both comfort and closeness, letting go of everything else in that moment.
The room filled with warmth as they moved together, bodies entwined despite the cool air outside. They were lost in each other, an intensity building between them that seemed to fill every inch of space, leaving no distance between their bodies. Even as the night grew colder, a layer of heat clung to them, their skin damp with sweat, the bedsheets tangled and drenched in the closeness they shared.
They held each other as if they'd never let go, each touch and kiss a wordless expression of everything they shared. The night stretched on, the hours passed in a haze of warmth and pleasure. Eventually, they lay still, chests rising and falling in tandem, their breathing slowly settling. Wrapped together in the afterglow, they both felt a quiet peace Mamitha nestled into his chest, drifting off with a smile as Rishi held her close, the world outside forgotten.

Scene: Afternoon Serenity, 1:00 pm.
Mamitha's Apartment Bedroom
A gentle glow fills the room as Rishi stirs awake, feeling the warmth of Mamitha sleeping beside him. He takes a moment, captivated by her peaceful beauty. Slowly, he reaches out, tracing his fingers along her cheek, and leans in to place a soft kiss on her sleeping lips. Reluctantly, Rishi rises, stretches, and quietly makes his way to the bathroom. he splashes some water to wake himself fully and freshens up. Feeling refreshed, he heads to the kitchen. As he prepares breakfast, the comforting aroma of fresh coffee fills the air. He carefully arranges everything on a tray and heads back to the bedroom.
Rishi opens the shades on the glass walls, letting streams of golden sunlight flood the room. The warm light rouses Mamitha, who stirs, blinking at the bright room and then at Rishi, who stands there holding the breakfast tray with a smirk.
Mamitha: (smiling) "Morning..."
Rishi's gaze lingers on her, admiring her, and despite all the times he's seen her like this, he finds himself in awe. She notices his stare and, pulls the blanket up, covering herself.
Mamitha: (grinning) "Thanks for breakfast."
She sits up, reaches for him, and asks for a morning kiss.
Rishi: (teasingly) "First, brush your teeth."
She raises an eyebrow, pulls him closer, and plants a playful kiss on his lips.
Mamitha: "Don't want to."
They laugh, and he gently nudges her out of bed. As she stands, draping herself in the blanket, she starts toward the bathroom. She lets the blanket slip to the floor, glancing over her shoulder with a sly smile as she walks away, giving Rishi a view that leaves him grinning. She disappears into the bathroom, and he takes a deep breath, savoring the moment.
A short while later, Mamitha emerges, fresh and glowing, picking up Rishi's long shirt from the floor. She slips into it, the oversized shirt hugging her curves just enough, leaving him unable to look away. She notices his gaze and laughs, tossing her hair over her shoulder.
They settle back on the bed, enjoying the breakfast together, talking and laughing between bites. Eventually, Rishi checks the time and sighs.
Rishi: (reluctant) "I should get going."
He leans in, giving her a lingering goodbye kiss. Mamitha wraps her arms around him, not wanting to let go.
Mamitha: "You don't have to go..."
They share another moment, lips lingering, before he finally manages to pull himself free, chuckling as she lets him go with a playful sigh. He gives her one last look, waves, and heads out the door. Mamitha watches him go, then leans back into the bed, smiling.
After a few minutes, Mamitha picks up her phone and dials Vaishnavi. The phone rings, and Vaishnavi answers.
Vaishnavi: "Hey, Mamitha."
Mamitha: "Hey! Just checking in. How's everything going with your brother? You left so quickly last night."
Vaishnavi: (sighing) "Yeah... he had one of those episodes again. It's strange—they stopped years ago. Dad said He just fell, wide-eyed and unresponsive."
Mamitha: "It started again, that sounds serious. What did the doctor say?"
Vaishnavi: "The doctor thinks it's just stress from work. He advised us to let him take it easy for a few days."
Mamitha: "That's a relief. Take your time. I can cover for you here if you need more time."
Vaishnavi: (grateful) "Thank you, babe. I should be back by tomorrow night."
Mamitha: "Take care, Vaishu."
They end the call. Mamitha, now more at ease, decides to call Priya next.
After hanging up with Vaishnavi, Mamitha feels a quiet moment of solitude in the apartment. She takes a deep breath, trying to shake off the lingering concern for Vaishnavi's brother. As the silence settles, Mamitha grabs her phone and dials Priya's number, hoping for a quick distraction.
Priya picks up after a few rings, her voice lively. "Hey, what's up?"
Mamitha smiles, glad to hear her friend's energetic tone. "How did the opening go?"
Priya on the other end. "It went well. Me, Ravi, and Vikram were there. Thought you would show up, considering this was mainly your project."
Mamitha's answers, "I was tired. Rishi came over after you guys dropped me off."
Priya teases, interrupting her, "Oh, all night, huh?"
Mamitha laughs softly but rolls her eyes, feeling a bit embarrassed. "Shut it."
Priya laughs back. "No, seriously, I thought you'd be too busy for that kind of thing. Anyway, what are you up to now?"
Mamitha pauses, "I'm alone. Vaishu left last night to see her family, and Rishi won't be coming over today, want to come over."
Priya's voice turns playful again. "Oh, look at you, never thought you were into girls also isn't that cheating."
Mamitha sighs, and says "hey, stop it."
Priya, "ha-ha ok I'll stop but sorry, babe. I'd come over, but I have to go to a party with a client. You know, business stuff."
Mamitha, now settling into the idea of a quiet day, responds with a resigned smile. "Okay, enjoy. Hope you have fun."
Priya, sensing Mamitha might need a little cheering up, offers, "Why don't you come with me? You could use a night out."
Mamitha shakes her head, leaning back on the couch. "Nah, I'm going to rest."
Priya's voice softens, her playful tone fading into something more sincere. "Alright, babe. Take care of yourself. I'll catch you later."
"Take care," Mamitha replies, feeling the weight of the conversation lift just a little as she ends the call.
