"Over five billion light years from the closest known lifeform. That's what the monitor says, look!" The Dungeon's technical expert, Kevin, eagerly turned the adjustable stand on which his monitor wobbled around to face you. Indeed, as he had said, it showed just over five billion light years in dim yellow letters, and the longest line you'd ever seen between the supposed location of the ship and the galaxy you called home.
"That can't be right. We've never observed a randomly occurring wormhole before, and crossing that kind of distance on a vessel of this size would require an absurd amount of energy." You heard the prompt engineer counter.
"Well, if David's cynicism is still intact, we hardly have much to worry about whether we're five billion or five hundred away, eh captain?" Charlie added.

David scoffed. "Am I a cynic for believing we're not suddenly stranded five billion light years from home?"
"You are when we just so happened to land on an interesting planet on the other end!" Charlie grinned, pressing a button to open the windshield's blast doors and revealing that he wasn't lying with a vibrant display of foliage.
"Five billion or not, that's difficult to explain." David said thoughtfully. "Still, that I'm a cynic hardly seems to follow." he muttered, walking past Charlie and out of the command center.
Kevin seemed entranced by the monitors, looking them over to try to become familiar with their new situation. Charlie shrugged and followed Daniel out, leaving you to consider what should be done next.
