Chapter 2 The Western Barbarian Lands

Chapter 2 The Western Barbarian Lands

The territory he found himself in was divided between tribes that he could barely consider “human”. Big, burly and savage. Those were his first impressions, yet he had to work with the resources he had available, and they were one of them.

Taking over a tribe was easier than he thought, however, as these uncultured brutes lived mostly for fighting. They almost completely embraced the ways of war and conflict.

It was not uncommon to see two warriors fighting to the death for something insignificant. So, the first thing he did was beat them up! Everyone, from the men to the women. They were beaten up! And it was worth it!

Both the men and women of the tribe lived for the fight, they even selected partners this way, and surprisingly the seconds and third strongest in the tribe were women!

He was surprised at first, but it became obvious after meeting and fighting against them. They used their brain! The women of the tribe were at least somewhat cunning in their ways, while most men only lived for the fight and went head against the wall in most situations.

There were exceptions, obviously, but they were far and few when he arrived.

The lucky thing was, that because of this fighting mentality, everyone was equal in their eyes! Both the men and women could take up a fight, and take anyone as their partner if they just defeated them! This would make a perfect foundation, and could help him immensely along the way, as he did not have to fight for basic rights and things like that with an oppressive class.

He was basically their chief, their sole dictator, and they were going to do whatever he told them!

The first thing he made mandatory was communal eating! He taught these savages how to make tables, and they set them up in the middle of the settlement. Then, he sent out hunting teams, and shared the food with everyone.

They did not know why he was doing it, as they generally hunted with their partners and relatives, but they complied. And after some time, started feeling closer to each other so the number of fights dwindled down.

Boiling water, and things like that did not pose a problem, as he introduced them several different recipes that they instantly worshipped him over for. For savages like them, BBQ, properly made stews, and other sophisticated dishes were unimaginable beforehand.

With using food as a bait, and of course his unsurmountable power, ensured that they listened to him in almost everything. However quite reluctantly, as they still felt that he was not their fellow tribesmen even after helping them so much.

The biggest problem they had was to almost completely cease fighting each other, yet when he promised lots of good fighting in the future and took them hunting magic beasts as they called them, managed to placate them for the time being.

This strange energy seemed to be everywhere, yet not in everything! After analyzing several instances of “magical” phenomenon, he could announce with confidence that anything having it innately was exceptionally rare!

After examining every plant and animal in his territory, it showed that it was possible for animals and in ultra-rare cases even plants, to absorb this energy and harness it in some way!

It seemed to be instinctual on their part, as the living organisms he experimented on did not show any form of higher intelligence level. The most common was for animals to strengthen their bodies with it, and for plants to emit it outside of their bodies and perceive the surroundings in some limited form.

The most interesting things was, that even after killing these creatures, they exhibited the same energy fluctuations and seemed to contain it innately in their bodies with a very slow dissipation rate.

When he fought against the tribe members he was surprised because they were stong, and not just stronger than an average person. Their average fighters were easily as strong as a normal human in his peak condition, yet their bodies were nowhere near as developed.

Sure, constant fighting gave them stamina and a muscular body, but if they had a good nutritious eating habit, and a scientific training regimen, then he really wanted to see what could become of them.

So, he did just that. They did not have to be told twice after he told them that they could become stronger with his ways.

Of course, several of them, along with the previous leader “schemed” to take the leader position with this new and strange ritual that their silly new leader taught them.

Only if they knew how silly it was for them to think that.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

Atos might have been surprised by their strength, but only so much. He defeated them with technique and not strength. If he used his enchanted body to fight them for real, they would not walk away alive!

Yet, he knew that people were important, and even after instantly noticing their “scheming” he did not do a thing. Let them try, he thought, as they would have no chance at all at defeating him.

After he deemed the magic beasts worthy for consumption and prepared them the most optimal way, he started to intercorporate it within himself and their training.

He prayed every night, and even taught a few tribesmen about it, and when he reached the 30th day on this plane he finally felt Him again.

That serenity, and that acceptance he always thought he felt, yet only now could really appreciate. It was majestic, all encompassing, and it was a glorious feeling basking in its light.

Unfortunately, they could still not communicate, God seemed to be hibernating and will be for a long time. Or at least until he can gather a huge number of believers and found a proper church around it. Fortunately, he had plenty of time!

When the previous patriarch came into his tent, he was surprised as these battle maniacs held him in reverence and were afraid of disturbing him most of the time. There were several instances when stronger people killed those who bothered them before in their past, so it was understandable...yet, here he was.

“””””””

When Bardul stepped into the tent, he could not help but be amazed. Their strange new leader was very...strange! He did not know any other word that could have described him any better!

He was sitting in front of a big and expertly crafted table, that was made by himself, and was holding those white things he called ‘paper’. He did not understand, even after he showed them what it was about, and was supposed to store their “knowledge”. He scoffed in his mind. What kind of knowledge, they have been living here for hundreds of years and they never needed something like that, not even once! And this outsider was telling them that this is going to change their lives in huge pro..propo...ahh, never mind! In big ways, and he was never going to use that strange and new word he heard their leader say ever again. Even with those strange rules and things he made, they might have made life easier, but he never really liked them! They were perfectly fine without them before, and would be even after! The only thing would admit he liked was the food... now, that was something else! He has never heard of things like ‘spices’, BBQ, etc. before! Yet, they were great! If he was honest with himself, after tasting them, anything seemed to be better than what they ate beforehand!

He chased away these disturbing thoughts, and concentrated on the reason he appeared before him. He was here for one thing, and one thing only. Fight! He was going to get back his position, and after this leader foolishly gave away his magic rituals, he would easily take his position and even go around and conquer the other tribes that were once one! His people will get the privilege of knowing this magic ritual, but he will not let everyone practice it......maybe only in special cases.... maybe! He was not cruel, but he believed in strength, and no one could dissuade him from that.

As he looked at the leader, he felt his own muscles bulge, and he relished in this feeling. He never was in such a great shape before, not even in his youth. And this was all thanks to the foolishness of one man, and his weak tendencies to give his ‘knowledge’ away this easily.

Whenever he thought about the prospect of him having this power he felt now, and the future where he already saw himself as the chief of the united tribes with the strongest wife at his side, he could not help but almost have a raging boner on!

Just the thought of it boiled his blood, sharpened his senses, and made him feel really alive just like when he was young! At the tender age of fifty, he was in top shape, bulging muscles flexed with his every move. Several warrior women even came to his bed on their own so they could taste his newfound youth!

Of course, what he did not know was, that the leader sent every woman that wanted to sleep with him away and most of them in his direction...knowing what would happen and that this prideful and simple ex-chief would come sooner or later for another lesson.

“I, Bardul challenge you for the Chief position that you took away from me, are you ready to fight?” Asked Bardul, full of confidence.

When the gaze of the leader focused on him and developed a little killing intent, he felt fear for the first time! When he was defeated initially, it was so fast and utterly crashing that he found himself on the ground even before the fight could have really began, and now he did not know which one was better.

When the leader saw him stand his ground, he received a nod and then a come along gesture when he left the tent.

Going after him seemed to be harder than he thought it would, as the killing intent seemed to be oozing out of him at an even higher degree!

Everyone noticed what was happening, as they could feel a miniscule part of the killing intent. Of course, it was intentional, and by the time they arrived at the middle of the settlement most of the residents already arrived there.

Bardul was getting more and more nervous by the seconds, yet he somehow managed to keep his posture straight and confident looking.

That he saw the many women that visited his bed the previous night cheering him on and sending him looks that promised gifts of the flesh, he could not help but feel a little bit better.

Even the killing intent seemed to be better, but he did not know if it was his imagination or if the leader was being merciful.

And in that moment, he got furious! HE did not need mercy! He carved out his own place in this world and he never needed anyone's pity.

In his riled up state, he did not notice that he somehow managed to concentrate and reach an unprecedent focus! He regained all of his confidence and walked ramrod straight!

His majestic figure seemed to be overshadowed by the leader before, yet now, he seemed to regain some of his splendor! He stood at the height of 2 meters, and had a body full of rippling muscles! With wide shoulders and a roguishly handsome face, it was no wonder so many women were attracted to him.

When he stepped into the recently built fighting round, or ‘ring’ as their leader called it, there was no more hesitation in his eyes. He took up his position and prepared for a hard fight!
