Chapter 4: Living in the academy

Knock! Knock! "Come in!" a voice behind the door said

The girl opens the door and said: "Mr Velvet, someone has an important letter for you."

"Let him in."

Sifrith enters the office. The office is heavily decorated with swords and paintings. There is even a glass piano at the corner of the office.

 He saw a middle-aged man with a moustache  sitting on a chair. He is busy signing some document. There is still  a lot of paper on the table waiting for his signature.

"You can go back to the class Melissa."

The girl left them alone.

"Hello there, you got an important letter for me?"

"That's right."

He pulled the letter out of his pocket.

"Here." He handed it to the principal. The letter is sealed with a red wax.

The principal opens the letter and reads it.

Dear Velvet,

You got a spy in your school. He is after you Chaos Vortex sword.

The spy belongs to the [Shadow Fall Sect]. He is disguised as one of your students.

He is a top ranked fighter in the Shadow Fall Sect. Be wary of him!

Can I request one last thing for you? Please take care of Erze, if something happens to me.

Your friend Wilhelm

"The man who ask you to deliver this letter to me, is he dead?"

"He got killed off by assassins. It was my fault."

The principal is silent for a long time.

"How do you manage to escape?"

"I killed all of them."

"You killed all of them?"

"Yeah there are fifteen assassins and they are all killed by me."

"Are you lying to me?"

"Why would I lie to you?"

Velvet stared at him for a long time.

(They are the wolf squad! Those are the Shadow Fall sect elite assassins.)

"Who is your master?"

"Eh?"

(My master forbids me telling his name.)

"I don't have a master."

"Fine, if you don't want to tell I won't force you."

"How old are you?"

"I think I am sixteen but I'm not sure about that. I lose my memories four years ago."

"So, you got amnesia huh.Can you do something for me?"

Velvet explain the content of the letter and then said

"I want you to pretend to be a student here and find out the spy."

"Why me?"

"It's simple. You are capable killing the elite assassins and you already know the contents of the letter. No one knows you in this school except for me and that girl who leads you here."

"How long will I be here?" asks Sifrith

"How about two months?"

"Of course, I will reward you even if you fail."

(Two months.....)

"Ok, I accept but I have one condition."

"The first one is after the two months regardless my failure or success, I want to fight your school strongest sword master!"

"You are so confident about your skill! Good, I will accept your condition."

"Your room is on the fourth floor of the east block.It's number 420."

"I will do the administrative work for you. You get your student card delivered in your room. Since your sixteen years old you will joining the second grade. It's class 2F. Here is the map your classroom, your room, cafeteria and all the other important places are  marked."

"Do you have any other questions?"

"For this moment no maybe later."

"Go to your classroom then and give this letter to the teacher and he will understand."
