Chapter 13

The Queen
~
Unconcerned about any plan Teng charges straight in. The ants are immediately alerted, and surround their queen. There seems to be three guarding the queen as the last two charge Teng.
Not flustered by more than one opponent attacking Teng lifts a disposable spear and throws it at the closest one. Before it can react it carapace it smashes open with many cracks, the spear piercing a metre of so in. Large amounts of green blood flow out at its head. Before the second one is upon him, Teng lifts his second spear, and throws. It seems this one isn’t lucky either, with its head becoming dazed, and its carapace a mess. Both a heavily wounded, but not dead.
As the others notice the situation the three guards rush to help. Teng not willing to waste his opportunity, quickly rushes with his main bone spear, killing the two elite ants and retreats before the others get too close.
The ants not wanting Teng to escape chase.
While at a distance, Teng stops and throws another spear. This time the ant dodges to the side. Since its still pretty big it hits its front leg. Teng continues kiting, until he feels an extreme sense of danger. Not waiting to look he bursts his legs with laws, shooting to the side. Not soon after he feels a gust of wind, and the Queen bulldozes here he had just been.
Seizing the moment to counter Teng rushes to the queen’s side aiming for one it’s legs, he aims for a joint. The carapace cracks apart, but only a shallow wound appears. Not wasting anytime for a second attack, he speeds away. The queen being angry, chases.

The fight continues for another few minutes, Teng and the ants racking up injuries. Mostly faring worse are the ants, with most of the Queen’s guards being dead. The queen is truly furious now. At the moment its a battle of endurance, and no one is better at it than Teng.
Sweating and covered in blood Teng moves around the cavern, inching towards the exit. Truly although Teng can do damage, the Queens vitality is enormous. It has cuts all over, even missing an eye. It seems the Queen is more used to being directed by its antennae though, as most ants are, it seems unaffected by the lost eye.
Teng is running out of energy even with his treasured bandanna, and is wondering whether he should retreat or not. Perhaps he can defeat her another time. However just as he thinking that, the Queen starts to slow down. Obviously, the wounds are starting to make the difference now.
Even though Teng is covered in wounds, he can stop blood loss with his Law, the Queen cannot. He also keeps water imbued with his laws in his pouches, making it easier on him.
Seeing the Queen stretched to its limits, and Teng not wanting it to escape, or have reinforcements to perhaps arrive and interfere he resolves himself to attack.
Darting forward he positions himself in front of its left leg, which is cracked and injured. He lifts his legs and kicks, his powerful body strong enough to affect the Queens balance. The Queen goes to lash out with her mandibles, but Teng’s spear blocks them.
Soon the Queen tumbles, and in the chaos Teng stabs his spear straight through the eye into its brain. The Queen slowly slumps to the ground, and with that Teng receives an extreme concentration of energy, having a breakthrough in his energy levels.

Treating his wounds as best he can for now Teng looks around. It seems there is a small pond of water here pure in energy, but other than that nothing of note. Not wanting to waste anything, Teng cuts the queens sharp mandibles to be used as a dagger or another spear in the future. Too heavy to carry the carcass, he might have to come back if he wants to make a different type of armour.
Tired and exhausted Teng leaves the ant nest. Although he meets some ants on the way, he usually leaves them be unless they attack. Without the Queen, they will soon die out, making his island one more step safer to the paradise he envisions.

As it’s getting late now, he heads home.
