"So I was right the card with the picture of the coins and the number gives me Market coins that I can use to buy items from the store. Then that means….."
He went to the storage tab and on one of the 50 slots, there was an image of the snake's vertebrae bordered by a grey halo.
As Oreth wondered more about the vertebrae a small box appeared giving him some information on the item.
-------
-[Snake Vertebrae Whip]
Grade: common
Sturdy Whip made from using an unknown snake species.
-------
Since he was able to access this information mentally he figured that he should be able to pull the whip out of the storage and he was right. As soon as he gave a mental command to bring the whip out it appeared into his hand.
He was impressed by the beauty of the whip, it had a length of about 9 feet long which was actually a little longer than the one that he had killed. The handle of the weapon was a beautiful black color with a green snake pattern that almost seemed to glow in the dark. At the end of the handle was the skull of the snake which brought the look together.
Oreth swung it for a little and then put it back into his storage.
"So I get items and the Market coins from the beasts that I kill, but how do I get core points. Do they also come in as cards or can I touch magic cores and convert them?.... The Mirror Strike Snake separates its body and transfers its magical core to the side that isn't in danger. The one that I killed didn't have the core, is that why I didn't get any of these core points? "
He made the status screen disappear and layed down on his makeshift bed, "Wish that the coin rewards would be a little bigger. After killing the snake I only received 5 market coins, and if I remember correctly I need 5,500 coins to get the mana pool expansion potion. Doesn't that mean that I would have to kill 1,100 times? I don't have time for that, the academy entrance tests will begin soon and I have to get in to be able to get out of this hell. I still have to hire a merchant and see if that can help things move along. For that, I need to find out if I get cores the same way that I get coins and items so that I can unlock them."

Oreth sighed and looked at the ceiling, "Though it's not the desired method or situation it seems like things can go smoothly as long as I don't screw up like I did today. Vernes doesn't seem all that trustworthy but I don't have much of a choice now that I signed the contract with him. So far he has shown to be pretty damn smart, everything went according to plan today.

(( 3 ½ hours earlier in the infirmary room ))
"Alright, summarize everything that I just told you about to make sure that it goes as planned."
Oreth nodded and began retelling his understanding of Vernes' plan, "When I leave this room I have to go back to the classroom, there I should be able to find my spear inside the magical space of my desk. Once I have it I have to go to the forest and follow my normal trail but on the fork I take the way that leads to the Ah-dom River. Oh yeah, I need to make sure that I take my time so that I can meet up with my so-called assistance in the middle of his fight or something. This way if your brother or the lackeys of Turgas are watching I would have a reasonable story to tell about my sudden so-called friendship with this demon. Then you somehow know that there will be some kind of snake that I have to save him from? Lastly, I have to follow him back to the market where he will kill Anithal in front of witnesses so that we don't get in trouble with the Academy. And since I saved him and he saved me we became friends which gives him the excuse to protect me and help in whatever I need.
Vernes nodded, "Yeah that's it, pretty simple right?"
"Well I don't know If I would call it simple, how do you know that your brother doesn't know about your mysterious connection with this other demon, What was his name by the way? Oh and what does he look like? Not to mention that you still haven't explained how he would know I'm around if I take my time. How do you know that he will be in the middle of an attack and that a snake is going to attack?"
The blue-haired demon smiled and shook his head, "You don't need to worry about all that, just stick to the plan. As for how you will know who he is lets say that he's pretty hard to miss because of his unique choice of weapon, if you can call it that. Anyway, you better be off now, and so do I, I'm supposed to be in my carriage which should be getting back to my home soon."
The blue demon stood up and looked at Oreth, "Remember that you are not allowed to speak about me or anything that has happened. Also for the next few days act normal in class, and make sure you pretend to be frightened of me, I did threaten you in a way after all. I expect great things from you, till next time."
Vernes walked into a portal that had appeared behind him and left Oreth alone.
'Alright then, It's pretty obvious but this shit is a lot scarier when it's happening to you. In Manga's or in Novels you know that the reincarnated dude is going to be alright because of plot armor but I'm not a character in any damn story.'

(( Present Time In The Forest))
A green-haired demon was on top of a tree branch looking at the star-filled sky. Suddenly on another branch, a grey oval appeared, and out came a blue-haired demon. "I hear that things went well. Apparently, he wasn't followed by anyone other than two of that idiot's dogs, if my brother ever gets suspicious he'll most likely interrogate them, and then our fabricated story can keep me out of all of this."
Ernath shrugged and dangled from the branch upside down using his legs, "I guess, but in my opinion, you just over-prepared. I just don't get why you chose that weakling. If you want him to be some kind of recruiter then why him?"
Vernes sighed and sat down, "I have to prepare for all cases, if even one of my plans gets seen through and tied back to me then this whole charade is up. As for why him I have two reasons, the first is that he's weak but even weak demons have their uses. I have plenty of strong demons out in the light having some trump cards never hurt anybody. The second is that something in my gut is telling me that making a partnership with him will be beneficial someday. Oh right speaking of that, that archer that shot the overgrown cat and Anithal, who is he?"
The green-haired demon quickly became serious and raised himself from his dangling position, "You mean that it isn't the assassin or the tamer that I met today to make up that whole show? If it wasn't them then I don't know who, you know that other than you who I owe my life to I don't tend to have friends/"
Vernes laughed and nodded, "That's one of the reasons I don't make you a recruiter, but if it wasn't you then could it have to do something to do with him? Looks like I'll have to reinvestigate everything about our new friend. If there is a mistake in any of the information that was gathered, someone is going to pay."
"Do you think that your brother might have sent him?"
Vernes shook his head, "No if that was the case he would have been killed as soon as he signed the contract. I might considerate of those that work for me but I'm not stupid, I have several countermeasures to make sure that they don't leak out anything. What I'm more worried about is the chance of having wrong information, if it happened this time what stops it from happening again."
Just as he had arrived the blue-haired demon disappeared, leaving the green-haired demon with an interested expression."So this Oreth might be more than he seems, huh, well I guess that we'll just have to find out tomorrow. If it turns out that he really is, I pity the fool that gave Vernes false information, that's something he takes very seriously."
