I am Megzie, I was gonna turn 20 this year and was in the third year of college. I’m 5’8″, study in college and I don’t remember how I was transported to this place… When I opened my eyes, I was already where I am. Although, I had no clue where I was. It looked like I was inside a cave. But how did I get here, and where exactly is here? I heard a ‘swoosh’ sound behind me, and I saw something that could only be found in RPGs… A gooey, white slime. I stared at it, as if I saw a ghost… Well, it did resemble a ghost, sort of. Anyway, I knew I had to kill it, but I didn’t know how, I mean I didn’t have any weapons…
The slime was slowly approaching towards me, I had no other choice. I started looking for sharp stones and throwing it on the slime. So far, it was working. I noticed a red bar above the slime, it was barely 10 per cent. One more stone through later the slime, um… Evaporated? It left behind a small white marble size ball. Out of curiosity, I picked it up and put it in my pocket, I guess it was a monster drop? The thought crossed my mind that I was totally unprepared for this world, no money, no weapons and no knowledge of this world… I hope that I at least have some good luck.
I guess I had a little good luck, I could hear human voices, at least I thought they were humans. I had better listen for a while before appearing in front of them. So, I closed my eyes and listened with concentration. “…. No…. *sniff* please… stop… no…” came a feeble voice of a boy. “Heh, heh, heh.” sounded another voice. I could hear movement, there seemed to be only two… “NO! Help! Please, somebody! Help me! Help…!”
I quickly opened my eyes and quietly approached the voices, I saw a man in his forties and a boy in his teens. The man was assaulting the boy. Without thinking, I, who knew only the very basic of self-defense, kicked the man with a round house kick, with all my might in his head. He got blown over and landed on the ground two feet away. He held his head and looked up at me in anger. I glared at him, “Leave, before I kill you.” He quickly got on his feet and stood up. He was an average built but I was taller than him. He was double my age, but I analyzed that I was stronger. He didn’t have a big build nor muscles, I just prayed that I would be able to kick his ass.
I charged at him with anger and gave him a punch, he was taken aback, and started to block. But, it was a feint… I gave him a kick in the groin instead. He fell over in agony, and I said, “Leave, before I make it so you will never have any urges to do such things.” He widened his eyes in fear and crawled a few feet, before finally getting to his feet and running away.
I don’t mean to brag, but I barely learnt any martial arts… But, I had the strength, height and weight to put behind my kicks. I have good athletic abilities, hand-eye coordination and am a fast learner, so I managed to beat him up (mostly by taking him in surprise).

I turned towards the boy, who was sobbing and clinging to what was left of his clothes, which wasn’t much. I swear, if I was a guy, I’d be getting a hard on for this sight. Luckily, I’m not one of those people who get nosebleeds either. I just thought of something and then, the prized ‘item box’ immediately appeared in my head. I thought of a storage place and it contained a dagger, a change of clothes, some food, a cloak, a small knife, some bandages and a bed sheet. I thought of the bed sheet and voila, lo and behold it appeared in my hands.
‘I should have done that earlier’, I thought. Moving on, I slowly approached the boy and sat down in front of him. He was cowering and crying. I frowned, and spoke, “Do you understand me?” Another thought crossed my mind, ‘I can understand their language, so can he understand mine?’ I got my answer when he feebly nodded. I placed the sheet on him, and wrapped it around him, gently. He stopped crying, but was still sobbing and whimpering. I said, “Hush, it’s gonna be alright, I’ll take care of you… It’s fine now, it’s over… You’re safe now.”
I patted his head, and he looked at me, with teary eyes. I’m not Japanese, but he was exactly what anime terms as a bishounen. I got a strong urge to protect him. Now the real problem arises, how to get him to safety. I asked him, “Do you know how to get out of here?” He nodded. I sighed in relief, “How far is it?” I finally heard his voice, “It’s half a kilometer to the entrance, and another kilometer to the nearest town.” I nodded. Another problem was how to get there, as he did not look like he could walk. Thankfully he was shorter and skinnier than me, so I said, “Can you walk?” He slowly shook his head, I figured. I asked him again, “Are there any monsters that we may encounter?” He shook his head again.
With no other choice, I carried him, princess style. He didn’t resist, just clung onto me. He gave me directions to his inn, turns out that he was not from the town. About half an hour later, in the dead of the night, we arrived at his inn. The inn keeper looked surprised, but handed us his room key and we went up. He opened the door and I entered and finally set him on the bed. Damn, even though he was light, my arms ached. On the way to the inn, I got several messages in my head.
Messages like,
A few seconds later I let him out. By the dim light of the lantern, I could make out that his eyes were red. ‘He must be exhausted and traumatized…’ I thought. I told him to get to bed, and asked if I could borrow his bathroom. After I washed my face and went back to the room, I saw him asleep on the bed, wrapped up in my sheet.
So, I took the sheet which was kept at the bottom of the bed, and laid it on the floor. I had no other choice, I had no place to go and no money. So, I decided to sleep on the floor. I woke up because of the light, I blinked and got confused, ‘Where am I?’ Then I remembered last night, ‘So it wasn’t a dream…’ And I got messages in my head
I blinked, ‘overload, I’m getting a head ache, anyway I thought Y…’ Then this table appeared in my mind...
