Devil's Encounter
ONE: A deal with the devil

ONE: A deal with the devil

It was a peaceful night, as a town lay asleep. The houses, the bushes, and the seas wallowed to slumber far too deep. As the sky stretched for as far as the human eyes could perceive. When suddenly, a figure jumped onto the sky, all too unexpectedly.

As if looking for something. The figure hovered around the air so aimlessly, adrift and lonely. He had a reddish skin, as scorched as a fiery, messy hair, as difficult as twigs, horns, as pointy as blades, and wings, as rough as bricks. Every structural part of its body was beyond humane, though it took the form of a human being, it wore no clothes for its body was bleeding heavily. As the moon followed every movement he stirred, his face succumbed to fear. His stomach also started grumbling, as it rebelled in hunger. Blemished with the frailty of his wings, eventually, the devil failed to sustain the balance it needed in order to hover steady.

And so, it fell. As if the gates of hell have opened by desire, the reddish creature descended from the sky, landing on a rooftop in a house far adrift from its neighbors. The devil writhed in pain, hanging onto the decking for life. Blood squished out of his body like a stream of water, dripping onto the gutter. Though it nearly took his own life, he gripped onto the rooftop as if it was the most comfortable thing ever. Perhaps it was actually, the journey he had gone through lasted for almost a day of no rest. When an owl hoots from a ridge, he knew he could not stay there any longer. The last thing he wanted was being caught, and so, he crawled into the house. Sticking like a spider. He made his way toward an open window. As he entered inside, all he could see was dark, and gloomy. And the atmosphere bore the stench of something putrid.

Entering at ease so carelessly, since the house had the impression that it was abandoned, he mistook it as it was. As parts of the curtains tangled around his arms. To his surprise, he fell from the sudden resistance making him hit the floor. When a bang from the lightning marched to his landing, the reddish creature squeezed more blood than he should have. As the thunder caught on, a voice from the corner of the room sparked.

"Who goes there?"

Far into the distance, there lied a little girl on the ground, in chains. The coldness engulfed her body, it showed on her skin of how pale she was. She wore almost nothing but a filthy dress reaching down her thin body, which could suffice not even the faintest breath from the wind. She stood on four, practically looking like a skeleton. With her malnourished body, she approaches the window, followed by the clank of chains rubbing against the floor.

To her gravest surprise, she jolted from the sight of a devilish body wrapped like a ball of paper in front of her. Shaken, and frightened, she ran to the farthest corner of the room. Confining herself between the two corners of the wall. Eyes widened in fear, she tries to push further back as if expecting the wall to shift backwards. While hiding herself behind a frail, wet and grimy cloth, presumably a blanket in which she uses. With a weak tone, continuously gasping for air.

"Fear me not, young lady...for I have not the faintest strength to even spare the littlest dread one can do." the devil whispered. "Just let me rest here for a while..."

The girl desperately pushed against her back, as she slips onto her own feet. With all the hasty movement, ruining her filthy dress even more, countless bruises unveiled on her body.

"Oh dear," the devil gasped. "Those must've been hurting...what are you doing in such place with all those bruises?"

"Go away!" the girl responded. Her tone barely counted as a scream, for it was so weak it would take the quietest day for you to hear it.

"Don't worry...I may look scary to you, but rest assured. I won't do anything vile." he protested.

The bruises of the girl began to ooze with blood, mixed with yellow liquid. Although, she felt the slithering pain of it, she paid no heed as there was something more vital at the head of queue. And, these bruises are not the likes of which you would simply procure by just moving so hastily; or due to a sensitive skin, these were a damage from a long ago but were left untreated from within. As the devil spoke once again.

"My looks may already seem familiar to the likes of you, if not, I suppose I'm what you humans call a devil."

The girl was taken aback, certainly she knew what he was, but hearing that directly from him made her scared even more. It was a fear like no other, she could not scream, and she could not do anything. The chains on her feet made her bound to never set loose. All she could do was hide, as she buried her face under her legs, hugging no one other than herself. As she soils herself, warm liquid spread from under. But that only made her grip tighter, and tighter. As she began to weakly cry in embarrassment. Though, no tears were falling, only a whine she could afford for her body was already as dry as summer. As she continue to soak herself in urine, the devil protested.

"I understand that you are afraid. To be honest...I'm afraid too. I don't where I am." he solaced. "Even though I want to leave, my wings can't even carry my own weight anymore."

And just as the devil was about to lose his consciousness, the girl murmured.

"I'm hungry..."

Struggling to also keep her eyes open. It was clear that she didn't want to sleep. Not because the devil was on her line of sight, but because she was afraid this would be the last time she will be awake. With her beaten body, and a tummy lacking the nourishment it needed, she knew her days were greatly numbered. To think that a devil would be accompanying her to death was surreal. Maybe she really was bound to never set loose. Freedom was the last thing she will ever get. And that thought scarred her.

So what would you do if you were to die in your loneliest moment of your life, would you rather die alone, or let a devil accompany you till the end? In her point of view, she'd rather have someone to talk to. Either it be the farthest from a human being that is.

"I'm hungry too little lady...I haven't eaten in days." the devil paused for a moment. "About those bruises and chains...why do you have them?"

The girl was left unsure, whether to answer the question or not. But perhaps that thinking was irrelevant, who cares what anyone thinks now? So she answered, with all earnest in her heart.

"My parents...they resent me. So much they hurt me in return for my unwanted birth." she whispered, though the situation was far from being her fault, she said it with a guilty conscience.

"Humans possess so much freedom they cause problems to others...this is why I can't stand them." the devil besmirched.

"But I thought devils were the ones who tempt people to do wrong things? Doesn't that make it your fault?" the girl playfully teased.

"No we do not, young lady. We don't even live in the same realms, therefore interacting with you people is highly a rare occurrence."

"Does that rare occurrence make me lucky?"

"Judging by your state...no."

The girl pouted. But the devil's face remained indifferent.

"You read too much bible, young lady."

"Its a simple fact Mr." the girl argued.

"No, no...demons do those, not us." the devil sighed.

"What are the differences anyways?"

"Pft! Who cares..."

"See? You look way too guilty. So this is your fault after all." the girl chuckled. Though she knew her points were useless, she's in that stage where she would just laugh at anything in order to have fun in her last moment.

"They say that the devils are the natural enemies. The complete opposite of an angel." she was having fun teasing him, so she pushed on.

"Well, our existence is the least of your concern, now if you would...stop prying with my business please." the devil declared, completely defeated by her authority. As he flapped his wings, the feathers cast away like spring-season-leaves scattering around the room.

"Hmmp...you made a mess." the girl pouted once more.

"Sorry to break it to you, but your room was already a mess before I even got here. Though I do apologize for making it even more messier than before."

The two then laughed together. As the doubt, the fear, and the thoughts of what's ahead had now disappeared. All that was significant now was the present. The girl laughed so genuinely for the first time again, that her throat began to ache. But all that stopped as the girl moaned in pain. Her struggle to suppress the throbbing pain from her bruises made it hard for her to endure. With the devil as hopeless as she, he crawled towards the girl. As he reaches his hand.

Suddenly, frightened as to what might happen, she clenched her teeth and closed her eyes.

"You poor thing, I can't imagine how you've been trying to cope up with this all by yourself. You are without a doubt, one of the most bravest human I've ever seen."

As she feel a hand stretch above her head. The devil began stroking her hair, with a warm and gentle graze. Petting it back and forth, was all it took for her walls to crumble. As she began crying. She dove straight to the devil, hugging him with all her strength. As if a dog that had finally gotten its first home ever; the permanent warmth, the presence of an owner, the joy of being cared of, for the first time ever the girl finally felt peace for once. As the two cuddled under the coldness of the starry night, connecting through their mutual pain, they found comfort and solace with each other.

Time passed by. With the pain of starvation, the two resolved with an idle conversation.

"So tell me, Mr. what brought you to my window?" the girl asked with style, of those you would see in a theatre.

"Well...I met a couple foes along my expedition that had led me through countless errors. But upon further voyage, I happen to stumble upon your roof." the devil responded, matching her energy.

The two chuckled again. As the girl hummed from the devil's outstanding delivery.

"Interesting, tell me more about this expedition of yours please." she exchanged.

"I once had this associate of mine. He was blind, but important. When one time, he walks into a house...and a table, and a chair." while telling his story, the girl suddenly interrupted with a question in mind.

"I'm sorry, I didn't understand the part he just walked into."

"Well, he was blind so, he couldn't see. So he walked into the house, and bumped to the stuff inside it."

The devil then grinned knowing what he just did. As the girl weakly chuckles again, while completely enveloped by his presence, she rolled around his arms playfully. And as to when everything was going great, a loud noise of what seem to be an argument resounded from the outside of the room. Scared, the girl hid her face to his chest. The devil glared at the door, while slowly flapping his wings, preparing for what might come.

"He's going to hurt me again, Mr!" the girl whimpered.

"Who will?" instantly, the devil asked in concern.

"My parents. They resent me, remember?"

The devil paused for a moment. Not knowing what to do.

"I give you every ounce of my money you stupid fucking bitch! How could you do this to me?! I work my ass off for this damn family, and this is what you give in return?!"

A voice of a man echoed. His tone was in fury, and it was matched by someone else in the same room as him.

"WORK?! YOU CALL YOUR THREE MONTHS OF ABSCENCE A WORK?! You left me all alone with that stupid brat and you have the audacity to come back! What's with that?! I bet you've been enjoying yourself with your bitches aren't ya?!"

It was his wife. As he slapped her on the face. Making her fall to the ground. "Don't you dare talk to me like that! Are you forgetting something?! If it weren't for me you'd be off in trail markets selling your fucking body you useless bitch! I can send you back to your country anytime I want so watch your damn mouth!"

She looks at her husband in disbelief, as she held her bleeding face. "You're a sad man..."

The man then finally reached his limits, he couldn't bare any further noise from the woman. As he went to her, he began stomping every fiber of her body. The woman screamed for help, but no one would ever hear. While stomping at her in anger, he spouted his rage with every strength.

"Loook at you! You disgust me! Even I like your daughter way better!" as he finished his last sentence, he stopped to spit on her wife. But the woman was no longer moving, she was far asleep, with blood coating her body.

As the man turn to look toward a door. His face gave off an obnoxious grin. "Ain't that right, sweetie?" he sneered with sheer excitement on his face. As his voice softened. "Don't sleep yet, okay? Wait for daddy to come in. You still have to keep me company till morning, daddy has been missing your body after all. I'll be there in a minute okay?"

The girl then grips her stomach, as if hurting. Though it wasn't from hunger. It was from fear.

"No! He's gonna enter my tummy again! I don't want this anymore...It hurts...It hurts....it hurts!" she whimpered.

The devil gripped the girl's hands, trying to keep her racing heart from leaping out of her body.

"Allow me to help, young lady." said the devil. Narrowing his eyes, as he strengthened his resolves.

The girl paused hesitantly. What does that mean? Help? It was the first time she had ever heard such aiding words. 'What even is help anyways? Assistance, service, cooperation, obedience...I don't understand!! All of these had only involved with daddy's troubles!' was all her mind could think of.

"Deal with me, and I'll protect you for eternity!" the devil insisted.

Footsteps of the man had gotten closer. As the girl began trembling even more. It was the sound she hated most. The sound of the creaking floor, with every step he made toward the door. The creaking stopped, and the shadow of the man loomed behind the door. And there, the girl decided. Without thinking of anything, neither the present, nor the future. She figured this moment might just be the one and only chance. And so...

"Please! I no longer want to feel pain, help me!"

The devil smiled, his expectations were all met. As he covered the girl using a blanket. He placed his hand on her chin, and whispered.

"Close your ears, this won't be pretty."

As the door bashes open, the bright light from the other side of the door emphasized the heavy silhouette of the man, taking his belt off.

"Sweetie, daddy's been really sad lately, will you comfort me?" he recited.

When suddenly, the devil appeared in front of his face. With so little distance to each other they could feel their nose touch. There the devil smiled, wider than his mouth could handle.

"Good evening daddy, I've missed you so much." he pleaded, while using the vocal of a child with his deep, and screechy tone which made his voice even more creepier. "Lemme comfort you to your heart's content, how about that?"

As the man succumbed to fear, every will to move in his body had left him. His mind was blank. It was a devil right in front of him after all. What the hell was he suppose to do?

"What's wrong daddy? Have I grown big over the past few weeks? Hihi, I've been a very bad girl. Will you punish me?"

Finally, the man's head caught on. He felt nauseous from terror, from the devil's face. As he flipped over, screaming on top of his lungs. He runs straight to the hallway. As the devil followed, like a hamster in helium; the devil crackled maniacally while crawling unto the wall. The man runs to his wife, unconscious on the ground. As he kicks her to the waist.

"Get up you stupid bitch! Do something!"

The devil leaped onto the man's back, pushing him hard to the floor. As he lands onto another wall. The man screamed, peeing on himself.

"What the fuck are you?!"

The devil then giggled, trying hard to imitate a voice of a child. "Nasty daddy wet his panty."

"Fuck you! FUCK OFF! Somebody help! Heeeelp!!"

The devil then looks down to the man with a disgusted face. "You are not but a waste of oxygen."

"Wait! I'll do anything you want, so spare my life, okay?! You're a devil, right?! You look like one! So what do you want, a sacrificial lamb or something?! You can have my wife then, you can have that small brat inside that room too...so please! Spare my lifee! I don't wanna fucking die!" the man offered, crying his heart out.

"On account of your freedom of choice, I have brought you two options. Burn eternally, or suffer perpetually, which one do you prefer?"

"HA?! What the fuck is that?! Fuck that shit, man! That's unfair!! Anything is fine, so please, just don't put me straight to hell. I'm begging youu! "

The devil then smirked. Humming to his pleasure. "'Suffer perpetually' it is then. Let me give you this piece of advice. Get used to the pain as soon as you can, or you'll seriously break."

"Huh...what do you mean?"

"Hmm, let's see. Have you ever tried to get fucked by dogs with 12 inches and no stop? Yeah, that's about the gist of it. Don't worry, you wouldn't die at any rate, since no matter how hard you try. In this world of mine, your body will always regenerate so even them destroying your butt wouldn't be much of a problem. All it comes down to, is you." it was an overly glacial statement coming from a voice of a devil.

As the devil gestured his hands with a few chants along the process.

"Allow me to take on this work. And please, help build a barricade against the heavenly kingdom, to let no angel descend from heaven. For this is not God's work, it is mine." as he finishes, a round portal then opened in front of the man. There, blazing flames loomed over from the other side. Welcomed by impatient dogs drooling at the sight of the man's below.

"Chip, chip. I brought you guys your new toy." the devil called to his pets.

As he dragged the man inside the portal. With how hot the ground was, the man screamed from his skin being peeled off. However, his form really did regenerate. To think this was just the beginning, the man couldn't express his feels. He was doomed. And there was no other way of saving it. As the devil strips his clothes off, chaining him with an unbreakable shackle against the ground. With no chance to move, the dogs formed in line. The first one in queue leaned onto the man's back, as it began to pin down his legs, breaking his every will to resist. It was a feeling of no other, as he feel a colossal tube enter his under, his mind broke and he fell to the ground. It was indeed just the beginning, the dogs would have to take turns, again and again, forever. Unfortunate enough, It was a beginning with no end. As the devil walks back to the real world, leaving the man inside. He listens to his screams as if a fine melody soothing his taste. With not much regard of what was inside, the devil closed the portal, forever leaving the man behind.

"Is it over now?" the girl crept from the hallway, hiding behind a wall.

The devil approached the girl, kneeling in front of her. "Yes my dear, you are now free."

"What about mommy? Is she going to be okay?"

"It depends." the devil looked at the unconscious woman. "Convince her to repent, in that way I'll keep my hands off of her. I've got more horrible plans if she gets in the palm of my hand. Best leave it to your God, okay?" said the devil.

"What's going to happen next?" the girl asked.

"I wonder... I can't stay here for any long. As I said, I got a mission to withhold.

"Can I go with you?" the girl asked once more.

He stared hesitantly. That was an unexpected question. He couldn't find the exact words to fit her idea. Since neither did he want to leave the girl, nor take her to such dangerous adventure.

"Tell me child, would you be happier if you were with me?" the devil asked.

"Would it be bad for Jesus if I said yes?"

"...I'm afraid so."

Her heart twisted, as she feel a sting of melancholy. She turned her head toward the floor, as she watch her tears fall down. There was not much more to say. It was goodbye.

"Well then. Once again, good evening, young lady. Hope you have a wonderful life. I will be taking my leave now."

The girl then smiled, forcefully, as she looks up. Perhaps she wanted to bid goodbye, and thank him for all he have done. But as she turn to look at him, he was nowhere to be found. The devil disappeared. Leaving not one ounce of trace in her life.

The End.
