A few days after this incident, the bubbling water slowly calmed down and stopped boiling.
The Grand Elder who was checking on the boy, instantly backed away, patiently waiting for the boy to get out of the water on his own. He'd seen the boy's white hair and instantly known of his heritage.
It didn't take too long for the boy to slowly sit up in the water, his unusual eyes calmly looking around the basement.
This was the first time the Grand Elder had seen the boy's eyes and when he did, he nearly choked on the air he was breathing. The inner two-thirds of his iris were a golden yellow while the last third, the rim of his iris, was blood red.
The Grand Elder instantly kneeled to the ground, with his hand to his chest and his head facing the ground.
The teen saw this but other than looking at him weirdly, he carried on observing where he was. When the teen was happy with what he'd seen, he stood up-
*Splash!*
- A little too quickly, it might seem, as he kicked up a huge wave of water when he moved his body. Realization seemed to dawn on the boy and he started moving much slower than before. His destination; the old man kneeling in front of him.
He quickly arrived, stumbling slightly along the way - his new strength being something a bit hard to control - and when he arrived, he looked down at the old man "Hello, you wouldn't happen to be able to tell me why you're kneeling, could you?" the boy's voice shocked himself a little.
Mainly because he was speaking a different language than what he usually spoke back on Earth - English - but also because his voice seemed much deeper than it once was and much more imposing.
The old man seemed shocked by the question before he quickly looked up and did a double take on the teen in front of him.
The boy's face looked about 15-years-old but his body was tall and quite athletic, making him look more like a man but if the boy was what the Grand Elder thought he was. This was normal as his species grew to tall heights naturally. Then he looked at the snow-white hair which was a symbol for the race he thought about, so he knew he wasn't wrong there.
But it was the eyes that confused him now, from their earlier unusual appearance, they had now become bright yellow, something that while uncommon in the world wasn't as unusual as the boy's earlier eye color.
The Grand Elder became slightly embarrassed and stood up, "Sorry, I thought you were royalty and got a bit ahead of myself, I didn't mean to be rude," the old man seemed scared for some reason and this only further confused the boy who started to curse at the God who put him through the earlier pain and also seemed to put him into some complicated circumstances.
"Why would I be considered royalty?" the boy wanting to cushion the question some more, quickly followed up, "If it helps, the first thing I remember is being in that clearing. I think something may have wiped my memory, so could you fill it in for me?"
The old man was shocked that a High Human was in front of him, a regular Human, and was asking for help, showing none of the usual pride and aloofness they usually do. But just in case he quickly replied to the teen, "Is that so? Then, if you would, please follow me upstairs to my study and I'll try my best to explain some things to you, okay?" the old man quickly seemed to realize something, "Ah! If you don't mind me asking, do you remember your name?"
The boy, glad to finally have a question he could answer, replied with a smile on his face, "Yes, I remember my name. My name is Noah."
"Well, it's good to meet you, Noah. Now, if you would, please follow me," the Grand Elder started walking up some stairs and Noah quickly started following him, being careful with every step as to not break them with his new herculean strength.
As they walked up the steps, the door at the top opened to show a beautiful raven-haired girl holding a tray of food. The girl saw the Grand Elder and went to reply but the words were caught in her mouth as she saw the tall Noah behind the elder.
"Uh...uh, Good morning Grand Elder!" her voice was embarrassed and shy but she stuttered her words out in the end.
She didn't have this reaction because she knew what Noah's appearance meant but sheerly because of the handsomeness of his appearance alone. Noah seemed to notice this and touched his face with his hands, wondering how much it had changed.
"Ah, Risa!" the Grand Elder's face lit up when he saw the girl, "Thank you for the consideration of making this old man breakfast," the old man's face looked to be in a permanent smile as he turned to Noah and spoke, "This is my granddaughter, Risa, she's the one who found you and notified us, Noah."
He then went on to introduce Noah to Risa, who mumbled a greeting back.
Noah smirked at her cute behavior before giving his own greeting in return, "Hello, Risa, it's good to meet my savior," he did a mock bow before putting on what he thought was a handsome smile.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
He got the effect he wanted as the girl's face went bright red and the old man seemed shocked he would even think of bowing to someone.
Noah shrugged his shoulders at the man's bewildered looks and instead focused on the plate of food in Risa's hands. Seeing the food his stomach grumbled and he was instantly reminded of the weakness to his strong body.
The old man heard the growl from his stomach and instantly took the tray from Risa and handed it to Noah. Noah took the tray, feeling no need to be polite in his hungered state and started to devour the simple breakfast on it.
It only took him a few minutes to absolutely demolish the food and he handed the tray back to Risa. Both the Grand Elder and his granddaughter were shocked at the speed of Noah's eating but they soon got over it as it wasn't the weirdest thing they'd ever seen.
After this, the Grand Elder told Risa he and Noah were going up to his study. Risa just nodded before walking away to somewhere else in the house. Noah, meanwhile, followed the Grand Elder - who introduced himself as George Belgre - upstairs and into a disorganized study.
"Please forgive me for not cleaning up in here, Noah," the old man motioned around the room with a wry smile on his face.
Noah put his hand up to show he was fine and there was no need to apologize before he took a seat across from the sole desk in the study. George sat down across from him and started to explain somethings.
"So, if what you say is true and you don't remember anything from before being found in that clearing, what do you want to know?" George leaned over the desk, resting his weight on his elbows.
Noah smiled a bit before leaning back into his chair, his hands held together on his lap, "I wish to know why you thought I was royalty and why you continue to look extremely apprehensive around me? Or is the latter just because I'm a stranger?"
The Grand Elder quickly swiped his arms in front of him, "Nononono! That's not it at all. It's because of your species, it's just a little unnerving for me to be around you is all," George felt cold sweat form on his body when he envisioned what would happen if Noah became annoyed at him.
Noah looked curiously at George and also confused at what he said, "So, what am I? A non-human or something?"
"No, in fact it'd be better for me to say that we're both of the same species, you're just from a higher caste than me," he spoke in a matter-of-fact way but seeing Noah's expression become even more confused he elaborated, "I'm a Human, two castes below you who seems to be an Elite High Human, one caste above a High Human and one caste below a Royal High Human."
"Wait...since when was there a caste system for the Human Race?" Noah seemed to understand what he was, and it seemed his wishes could all be fulfilled if he became an Elite High Human, what he didn't understand was why there was a caste system in the first place.
George's wrinkled face emerged in surprise as he really looked at Noah, "You really don't know anything do you?" Noah watched as George's demeanor relaxed incredibly, "I truly thought you were a Royal Guard who had come to investigate something..."
Noah didn't know what he was going on about and he didn't really care either, so he motioned with his hands for George to carry on about the Caste System, "Ah! Of course...Where to start..." George seemed to think for a moment before he opened his started again.
"Well, eons ago, the Human Race was made by a group of Gods who wished to make a race with infinite potential. The Goddess of War, God of Magic, Goddess of Possibility and God of Invention, each came together and added little bits of potential to the new race they were making. Little did they knew that the more potential you add to a Race, the weaker it starts off, so the newly made Humans struggled heavily against the other races at the time," George seemed to be reciting this out of a textbook as Noah listened and felt like he was back in class again, "but as time went on and the Human's persevered and the survivors of the harsh conditions bred amongst themselves, new Human's were made. They usually had light colored hair, from light blonde, to light brown and the such and they were magnificent. Faster, stronger and overall just better than normal Humans. These people were soon called High Humans."
Noah listened intently and went over the information in his head, "So, wait, why were High Humans just randomly made?"
George chuckled at this, "They weren't just randomly made, Noah, they were the product of thousands of years of Evolution," George thought of a better way to put it to the oblivious Noah, "Let's see...Ah! Imagine, Noah, that each Human has a small bit of talent and inherent power and when two Human's make a child, that child has their parents talent and potential power imbued in them from the get-go. This continued as the Human race propelled itself to new heights and eventually each person had such power and talent in them that they produced something that was above and beyond what could be achieved beforehand."
"Okay, so why aren't you a High Human? And why isn't everyone a High Human?" Noah felt more and more confused by this caste system the more he knew about it.
"Well, that's the problem; High Human's have expanded lifespans, so their fertility is lower as a result. They can still, you know - do it - but they have a much harder time making a child from the union of man and woman," George seemed a bit embarrassed that he had to explain this but Noah didn't care - the man was a grandpa, and he had a granddaughter, so why was he embarrassed?
"Hmm, interesting, but you didn't answer why you thought I was Royalty?" Noah felt that the caste thing was partially cleared up and he could probably wait until he found about the more detailed parts, but he wanted to know how to tell which is which.
"Umm...I thought you had the Eyes of Royalty," George seemed awkward as he said this but he quickly went on to explain what he meant, "Golden Inner Iris and Red Outer Iris, but you only have a Yellow Iris which puts you at a High-Purity Elite High Human - Nearly on the same status level as Royalty,"
"Hmm, what is the difference between me and a High Human then?" Noah wanted this to be over quickly; mainly because he wanted to test his powers out, but also because he was getting weirdly bored.
George, as if sensing Noah's bored state, quickly answer the teen, "High Humans don't have white hair like you higher ranked Humans. But they usually have light-colored hair and blue or green eyes. You probably won't be able to tell the difference unless you either fight them or ask them."
With that, the rest of the conversation was George telling him to come back for a check-up regarding what happened to him in the previous days - red skin which was boiling hot - George even went as far as to tell Noah he thought he knew what had caused it. He didn't elaborate, he just told Noah to come to him if he developed any unusual abilities.
Noah quickly said goodbye, before walking off, intent on testing out his powers.
