Deus: The Frontline
Chapter 0: Prologue

Chapter 0: Prologue

About five hundred years ago, our realm was invaded by mystical beings. These beings possessed technology far beyond what the human mind could comprehend. We called them Glows. They tore apart the realm, killing every living creature in their sights. Nothing was spared. Us humans attempted to fight back, but our weapons and armour were too inferior. Our arrows and magic would bounce right off their metal suit, their magic fire had enough power to melt right through our shields. Even an army of our best mages and knights couldn’t take down one of them without suffering major casualties. Humanity was diminishing, there were only a few thousand of us left. Then one day, the war stopped. No more screams, no more explosions. They just vanished. One hundred years of pain and suffering and then, poof, they’re gone.

Four hundred years later. Since then, we set up a research unit called Deus to collect and research Glows in hopes of standing a chance the next time we get invaded. We gathered their fallen comrades, tore apart their corpses, and salvaged their technology. Today, I join the army. Partly to follow the footsteps of my parents who were both Deus. But mostly because I want to see the world which my ancestors fought in with my own eyes.

“I, Alitheia Deus, am part of the research army. I hereby swear to create weapons worthy of the name Deus.  I am a soldier. I am a god. I am a HUMAN!”

And thus, my journey begins in the wasteland known as The Frontline.
