Desolation's Call
Chaper 1- Spellstealer

Chaper 1- Spellstealer

I was casually driving along an old Iowa dirt road, on my way to my girlfriend's house, when everything went pitch black. I couldn't feel the wheel, or the seat I was sitting on, or any feeling at all. I was floating in darkness, with none of my senses. I could not feel anything.

I was blinded by the sudden flash of light that soon became dark as I hit the floor face first. I groaned and rolled onto my back. I was inside a brightly lit cavern, with some sort of glowing crystal as light. It was a harsh white light, and they left spots in my vision. There was also a red and blue bar in the top corner of my eyes.

Welcome to the system, Ryan Byrne.

Now, why was there a blue box in my vision? I could move it around with my mind pretty easily. It said:

You have gained the title: Pawn of Darkness

What the hell is that?

The Mistress of Darkness, Lillith, has chosen you to be her Champion. You will receive 150% Experience while in her dungeon, and you will have the full Solid Darkness set of weapons and armor. She is in control of you. Do not forget that.

That was ominous. The "control" bit really creeped me out. I dismissed the window, trying to forget that I was someone's pawn. A new window popped up, this one not as bad.

Choose a class to assign experience. You have enough stockpiled experience to reach level 10

Getting experience always meant getting more powerful. I needed to get more powerful to survive wherever I am.

First, I should take a look at my status. I figured since there was a system, there would be a status. It came up easily, like a reflex.

Name: Ryan Byrne Specialty: Blue Magic Level: 1 Progress 0% Vitality: 10 Constitution: 10 Intelligence: 10 Agility: 10 Titles: Pawn of Darkness Affinities: Blue Magic

Class choices- Specialized-Generalized

"How do I choose my class, System?"

I selected the Specialized classes first. Oddly, there was only one

Spellstealer- Due to your innate specialty of Blue Magic, you can learn spells and gain Insight on them by seeing them be cast. You will have an enhanced ability to create new spells, and a greater ability to control mana. You will not start off with any spells, so you will be rewarded with +1 stat point per level, added on to the 3 base stat points each level

I checked the generalized spells and honestly, I was disappointed. It was just the base Elementalist classes, and they were all about the same power level. I apparently got some armor and weapons from Lillith, so that would take care of my defenselessness. Also, I would be stronger than the other people that were my level because of my extra stat points. Plus one didn't seem that much, but at level 10 I would have 10 more stat points than an Elementalist.

I accept the class: SpellStealer.
