The entire carcass of the snake was devoured by Gabriel without leaving any trace. Standing up, he yawned and returned back towards the Cryogenic Craft which he considered as his home.
Sitting on the chair, the door of the Craft closed and the mechanical voice which sounded robotic changed into a feminine one, that said, "Welcome back, Son"
A semi-transparent screen displayed the figure of a young woman whose visual appearance looked to be in her early twenties. The young woman sweetly smiled and Gabriel who stared at her couldn't understand why he felt such a sense of familiarity with her.
"I am sure that by this time since the Guardian Angel Activation Sequence was activated, you have definitely landed and also met some danger..." The young woman frowned, "But don't worry. Mother is here to protect you! Just listen to mother and you will definitely survive!"
"M-m-mother...?" These were the first word that came out from Gabriel's mouth. His voice mellow and filled with the innocence and the longing of a child. Staring at the semi-transparent screen, he obediently nodded his head and as if detecting his consent, the young woman cheered.
"That's my good boy, listen to mother okay? So the first thing that you need to do is to find out if the place that you landed is suitable for human life..." She knew that Gabriel wouldn't understand what she was saying, but she still instructed him.
"Find something that looks like this, and press it." She held her hand up in the air and the image of a small, red button appeared above his palm.
Gabriel looked around and found that red button as he stretched his index finger and gently tapped on it.
[Scanning the surroundings]
[Soil Condition: Infertile and Harsh]
[Air Condition: Harsh and Deadly]
[Global Temperature: 43 degrees Celcius]
[Evaluation: Unsuitable for human life]
The same mechanical voice that Gabriel first heard upon descending echoed out. The young woman displayed in the screen reacted with a sigh as she said, "The first thing that you need to find is a source of water, so find this button and press it."
Gabriel complied and the system reacted once again. Another semi-transparent screen floated in the air, indicating the location of water that he could possibly consume.
"It looks like there is water. But before we go there, I need to find out if you returned back to Earth or you're currently at another habitable planet, somewhere outside the Solar System,' The young woman's words were gibberish for Gabriel. However, the instincts inside his body told him that he could rely on this young woman whom he called as his mother.
"Find this button and press it."
Gabriel obliged and numerous mechanical voiced resonated inside the Cryogenic Craft. The young woman frowned upon hearing the mechanical voice, "Son, it seems like you're back in Earth, according to me and your father's prediction, any source of water will definitely be guarded by those bastards..." Her tone suddenly became harsh by the mention of those bastards.
Gabriel's eyes shone in complicated emotions. As if detecting his worries, the young woman consoled, "Don't worry, don't worry, this Craft has state of the art weapons attached to it, and they're powerful enough to annihilate those bastards."
If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
"But since those water sources may be compromised, I hope that my good little boy will remain obedient and stay inside the Craft until the Artificial Intelligence completes its task, okay?"
She stared at him with expectations and Gabriel nodded his head in response. Clapping her hands together, the young woman furiously tapped in the air before her as the Craft suddenly came to life.
[Activating Secure Lifeline Activation Sequence!]
[Location Marked!]
[Passenger inside, please prepare for a bumpy ride!]
Gabriel panicked upon realizing that straps came out of his chair and forcibly detained him. The young woman saw his sweaty expression and she lightly chuckled, "Don't worry, my little boy. This wlll be over before you know it..."
She said and the Craft's jet engines came to life as the Craft flew towards the direction marked on the map. Within several minutes, they arrived at the location and Gabriel, along with the young woman saw a pristine lake whose waters shone in a deep azure color.
"Woah..." Surprise came out of her mouth, "I didn't expect that a water source that is so clear and delicious looking like this would still exist...Could it be the work of those beasts?" She wondered and the beasts who casually enjoyed themselves noticed the arrival of the intruder.
Resplendent lights shone on their bodies as a warning, yet the Craft remained indifferent, floating in the air. Its body transformed and numerous weapons appeared on its side.
[Target found!]
[Annihilation in Progress!]
A deafening roar consumed everything along with the constant miserable shrieks of the beasts. Their blood dyed the azure colors of the lake into a deep crimson hue as hundreds of them fell on the ground, one by one.
An excited light shone in Gabriel's eyes when he saw, numerous food falling on the ground. A glistening drool dripped from the edge of his lips and the young woman chuckled upon witnessing his antics.
"They look delicious, right? But you must not eat them raw! You need to cook them!." She pointed with her finger and warned, "I'll show you how it is done with the Craft,"
The massacre ended and the surrounding beast that observed didn't dare to approach the Craft's vicinity. The excited Gabriel came out of the craft and dragged a two-meter tall crocodile as the young woman said, "Good, good, put it there and press this button,"
Gabriel with the prospects of food, happily obeyed as the Craft turned its laser weapons and charred the crocodile meat to perfection. The fragrant smell of cooked meat wafted out and the beasts who observed at the side couldn't help but greedily drool.
They wanted to approach but when they remembered the scene of carnage that the strange piece of metal did. Their footsteps halted and their expressions, looked miserable as if their relatives lost their lives.
Hearing the crunchy noises from Gabriel's mouth worsened their mood as they retreated with their hands covering their ears. The Gabriel who was oblivious to the fact that he just sent a group of beasts away due to hunger, continued eating and even finished them all.
The young woman turned speechless as Gabriel stretched his body and started yawning. Rubbing his murky eyes, he returned back to the Craft as the young woman suddenly said,
"Before you sleep, I'll introduce you to someone that will help you in learning the techniques that we implanted in your mind..." She gave a small, mysterious smile.
Gesturing with both of her hands, she presented the figure of a middle-aged man whose appearance greatly resembled Gabriel. The only difference was he looked colder and strict.
"Hello, young man. Since you returned back to home, I'm gonna start training you so that you can fight back against those bullies, you understand?" He spoke in a gentle, yet harsh voice which made Gabriel, who heard what he said, repeatedly nod his head like chicken pecking rice.
"Good, but you need to sleep first and digest everything that you ate. When you wake up later, we'll start the hunt for playmates..."
"What playmates? Are you saying that those damnable bastards will become my precious boy's playmates?"
"No, I didn't mean it like that, Dear, what I meant to say is that those beasts shall become my boy's plaything, you do know about how bad am I with words, right?"
"Okay, fine I accept your apology," She didn't bother about him anymore. Instead, she turned around and stared at the sleeping visage of her son. The middle-aged man's expression softened as tears started forming in his eyes.
The two pairs of husband and wife detected each other's emotions and they shared a mutual embrace.
No matter how much they wanted to caress their little angel's face. They knew that it was impossible for they were already dead.
The only thing that they could do right now is to help their son, survive the treacherous condition of the Earth and the beasts around him.
