Surprising News?

BEN'S POV:

I rushed up to my sister as everyone cheered, taking the microphone out of her hand gently. She shot me a confused look but walked over to Chad. "Thank you, Briar, thank you, everyone, for coming out here to welcome our new arrivals. We will be leaving shortly but first I wanted to ask someone very special to me an important question." I took my girlfriend's hand in mine as my heart raced a mile a minute. "Mal, this is the exact spot we first met three years ago, I feel like I've known you my whole life." I smiled and stepped back. "But did I mention, that I'm in love with you?" Doug began to play his guitar and I heard Briar gasp. "I met this girl who rocked my world like it's never been rocked and now I'm living just for her no I won't ever stop. I never thought that it would happen to a guy like me and now look at what you've done you got me down on one knee." I went down on one knee and I heard Briar give out a supportive cheer, causing Mal to laugh as tears built up in her eyes. "Will you marry me, Mal?"

"NO!" I heard Audrey exclaim.

But Mal wiped away her tears and nodded. "Yes!"

Everyone erupted into cheers as we kissed and I felt Briar tackle us in a hug, almost throwing us off the stage as we pulled away. "Oh my gosh!" She pulled away and grabbed us both in individual hugs. "You guys!" She took Mal's hand to see the ring and grinned. "It's beautiful!" She gave Mal one last hug before I pulled her down from the podium, leaving Briar confused as I gestured for her to stay.

CHAD'S POV:

I took a deep breath as I watched Briar look around, confused. "When we were young we would always talk about how we were going to get married on day, having mock weddings in our best clothes and sneaking off to play families with the younger children. Now we're older I can't think of anyone I would rather spend the rest of my life with than you, when you were taken I was heartbroken and turned into a player who used girls to hide my pain. But now that I have you back I don't want anyone else." I heard Audrey scoff as I began to sing. I finished the final note and bent down on one knee as Ben did. "Briar Elizabeth Rose Beast, will you make me the happiest man alive and become my wife?"

"YES YES YES A THOUSAND TIMES YES!" Briar exclaimed as the crowd cheered again, I sighed in relief and took her delicate hand happily in mine and slipped the ring onto her small finger as everyone crowded us in a hug.

THIRD PERSON'S POV:

As everyone pulled away, smiles on their faces, people approached and began to congratulate the pairs.

Briar managed to get away for a second to talk to Audrey only to freeze when she hear the scolding words her friend's grandmother spoke. "Your mother can hold on to her prince even in her sleep."

"I know." Audrey sighed disappointedly.

"Is everything alright here Audrey?" Briar asked in concern.

"Thanks, Briar, but everything is okay here. Congrats on the engagement!" Audrey responded, a little too happily for Briar's taste.

"Thanks, we're heading out now so I should head back." Briar excused herself, walking over to the others, Audrey watched as she walked away before grabbing Mal as she tried to pass.

"This isn't over, Mal." She growled menacingly before she let Mal go with the others.

On The Isle Of The Lost

They collected the new four that would be going to Auradon rather quickly, all of them being excited to leave the Isle, which is understandable. Rose sat next to Briar as they drove on, just passing through the barrier before Mal screamed for them to stop. "Get out!" Mal exclaimed as they all looked out the window and saw Hades, God of the Underworld, his upper body halfway through the barrier.

Briar went pale and Chad was quick to notice. "Are you alright Briar?" he asked, placing a hand on her shoulder as they were all safely out of the limo.

"I'm fine." Briar lied. Chad knew she was lying but didn't press the situation. Mal transformed into a purple dragon and began to throw fire at Hades as Briar recited every spell she had learned that would do anything in this situation, anything she could use to stop him or at least slow him down. Soon enough, he was pushed back through the barrier, closing it behind him and sealing him off from them. Everyone shakily got back into the limo and continued on their journey home.

Back in Auradon

As soon as they arrived back in Auradon Briar grabbed Chad, Ben, and Mal and dragged them to their office where Fairy Godmother stood with her parents. "What do we do?" Belle asked worriedly.

"I think there's only one thing we can do, to ensure everyone's safety." Mal looked them all dead in the eye. "We need to close the barrier... for good."

"What about the other kids?" Briar stressed, running a hand through her already messy curls.

"We have to protect Auradon from another attack," Mal explained.

"No, we made a promise to those kids!" Ben exclaimed.

"I do not want to take away your dream, because it was so beautiful and it is why I fell in love with you. But as King and as Queen it is your guys' duty to protect Auradon." She looked at both Briar and Ben with a tear rolling down her cheek.

"She's right." Briar reluctantly agreed as she sat down at her desk, resting her head in her hand. "We have to do it."

Ben sighed dejectedly but nodded.
