Prologue Part 1
“Life is weird. Sometimes it goes exactly as you have planned. Sometimes all the pieces move in concert just like you planned. Sometimes all the dreaming you do, comes true. But like the calm at the center of the storm it does not last. Eventually the storm arrives, and everything goes to hell.”

“Click, click, clok, click” hummed the machine. I stood gazing in amazement as the project of my life was finally brought to life. Only to feel that amazing moment begin to twist upon itself as it everything began to fall apart. The steady hum of the machine began to clank as the parts smashed into one another. A sharp squeal began to rip through the air, only to disappear as objects began to be pulled toward the center of the room. Instead of a sleek dimensional doorway leading to my other lab that I had envisioned, a huge pit of darkness began to form in the center of my laboratory, I felt a chill crawl up my back as the air turned frigid. Watching the expansion of the dark pit at the center of my laboratory, I heard screams. Snapping out of my shock, I looked over at my students as they rushed to escape the room. Numbly my hands moved in accordance with the safety plans I had prepared for such an eventuality. I began to activate the containment procedures on the control panel that I had in front of me. A blue shield wicked into existence around the lab hopefully isolating the lab from the rest of the world. As I watched in fear from the other side of the room, the void that we had wrought into existence unerringly continued its expansion. It flowed outward in a perfect sphere unmitigated by nothing. Eventually the sphere reached the other side of the room and interacted with the solid blue shield. It felt as if time had stopped. For that moment in time all I could hear was the shuffling of feet fleeing, all I could see was the solid piece of darkness become still. A moment later that darkness exploded outwards instantly consuming the lab and me. In the span of that instant. I felt a piercing sensation followed by a torrent of pain. Energy cackled around me in torrents of cracks. I began to feel a writhing heat until it felt as if I was on fire. Screaming in agony I squirmed, anything to get away. I could not see; I could not hear I could only feel the red-hot agony as it consumed my every thought. Minutes passed, the dark ball at the center of the room slowly diminishing until it was gone. As the seconds passed, I began to feel my body disintegrate. Suddenly a stab of energy broke through the barrier around my soul. The dark energy began rushing into the core of my being. All went black.
