he was someone, someone no one had seen before. he was kind, nice, patient and helpful but he was shallow, too shallow. the eyes full of dark circles and eye bags didn't have any dream, nor did his palm. he was only 18 after all, how could he suddenly understand everything that is about life and take decisions? but even without dreams and aspirations, his eyes were just too beautiful. they were grey, like bunch of clouds gathering at one point in the sky during monsoon, like it is sweeping you up into a storm. a storm so calm that one could only consider it a breeze. he was beautiful, agonizingly beautiful. But, his eyes lit up for the first time when someone considered the storm inside of his eyes as a storm instead of a breeze and tried to dissipate it. although, no one can really dissipate the storm.

For the first time, they have seen that new boy smiling after getting to know the outer world which was out of his perception. For the first time, they have seen that new boy not caring about what the world had in bag for him and for the first time, they saw hope and dream building up in his eyes.

"you look even more handsome when you smile, my friend" that 18 year boy heard his friend Jake say. his voice was deep but not too deep to scald him, just enough to make his ears perk up. his voice was something he truly adored, to the point, he wanted him to sing him a lullaby. Of course, there was no response from this newly adult boy but Jake knew better than everyone else so he just gave him a smile and changed the subject.

The air was humid, the clouds were clear and the air smelled like lavender. That 18 years boy is now 21 years. he's doing a job and being well paid. Needless to say, he got bigger and better but there were some moments when he'd fantasize about his childhood. The childhood which is no more. He had some new friends aswell but Jake being the most favourite. His grey eyes cleared a bit, storm dissipating into experience, memories and loss. his smile is also brighter now, like some apricity reaching towards the infinity, which is beyond any human's comprehension. Undoubtedly, he was an adult now and he was truly grateful towards Jake for showing him the way of life but being an adult has it's own burdens, that adult's eyes had more dark circles than before and he looked constantly drained. Life sure is unpredictable and amazing.

It was drizzling when that 26 year old adult got a call and was told the notice of his friend's, Jake's demise. it was suicide, they said. Apparently, he overdosed on pills and killed himself. that 26 years old boy didn't believe them though, Jake was always bright person, he'd constantly reassure him, he'd give him advice, he'd play video games with him, he'd always motivate him, he would cook for him and most importantly, Jake made him feel like he was a child again. Spoilt, loved and innocent.

He felt a lump form in his throat but he didn't cry, no, he couldn't cry. When he was 26 years, he once again lost the purpose in his life but he still moved along like a zombie. Not really dead but not really alive either.

when he was 34 years old, he married a beautiful woman. She was smart, kind, lovely and adorable. He truly loved her with all his heart. She made him feel as though he was enough.

when he was 36 years old, his son was born. He looked just like his wife, brow eyes and serene face. his wife watched over them with a lovely smile as he held his son's tiny fingers in his large fingers. The magic of life quite visible. then he smiled a bit, it the brightest smile of his.

When he was 60 years old, his son married a woman and moved out whereas his wife fell ill. so terribly ill that he wouldn't be surprised if she falls into eternal slumber one day but he didn't want that, he wanted to be with her. by her side. however after 2 days, she took her last breath and fell into eternal slumber. He felt as someone was ripping his chest apart, it was unbearably painful but he didn't cry, no, he couldn't cry.

when he was in his 80s, he fell ill aswell and knew that he didn't have much time left. during his last days, he recalled everything that he had experienced and tears started to stream down his cheeks. a painful sob escaping his throat, and getting louder every minute. he thought about his life, he thought abou Jake, the one who showed him light and the one who always stood by his side. He thought about his wife, who taught him what love and happiness really means. and he also thought his childhood, each of them being snatched by him. life is really too Cruel. However, he was happy since before his death, he finally got to realise that he is only a human, not an adult nor a child. life is transient but it's long and painful.
