Book 2, More Lyrheans, Chapter 8: A Third and Some Revenge (Part 2)

“Y-you don’t have to do this, Olga dear.” Haruto half begged as he unconsciously took a step back, his face trying to show compassion but instead showing fear. “We can find someone who can make you Human again, so just come with us and-.”

Olga, or rather the being formerly known as Olga, shifted her foot forward and a thin, nearly imperceptible, and jagged line of frost rocketed out across the ground, splitting right before it reached Haruto’s closest foot and then exploding upwards in a spiky mess of jagged ice. Haruto managed to jump back before the ice impaled his foot, but the speed of the attack had forced him to move in a way that he was not ready for and he toppled over onto his back, his robes catching on his flailing body and tying him up.

He cursed a bit before managing to right himself, barely reaching his feet and still crouched over by the time a cry of alert was sent his way. He looked up to see the wrathful face of a reborn and remade 12-year-old just a few inches away and he only ten felt the deathly chill of a sword made of magic ice just a few insignificant spaces away from his neck.

“Ah!” he half gasped and half screamed as he once again fell backward, the chill causing him pain as his skin bumped against the ice blade when he jostled himself around. As he found himself on his ass, he unconsciously reached up and touched near his jugular, wincing and retracting his hand as the pain from a sub-zero frost made itself known.

“Good show, girl!” Lyrhea yelled as she gave two thumbs-up. “Kick his ass!”

Haruto looked around to see where ‘Olga’ had gone off to, but wherever he looked she was already gone. The natural buffs to a person that came from being a Ranger combined perfectly with the traits of the new species that ‘Olga’ had become, and then this was added to by the fact that she was remade with the traits of a Boss-tier monster, complete with its mastery over Ice and Cold.

A normal Lyrhean of her build would need to run, jump, and bounce around to achieve this speed and maneuverability, all while burning significant reserves of fuel in the process. ‘Olga’ though was picking up speed with little effort at all, drawing the world around her into a chilled state to freeze the ground and let her skate across it, with small bumps of ice forming to give her miniature ramps to aid in getting airborne.

“Damn it!” Ralph yelled. He slammed his tower shield on the ground and let out a roar, and ‘Olga’, Luxnilae, and Lyrhea scowled as their gazes switched from where they once were over to Ralph, who braced himself for the attack.

“Cleanse!” Shouted Luxnilae as she countered the Heavy Knight’s Taunt with an ability of her own, the Taunt fading faster than it had any normal right to just before Ralph could finish winding up to try smashing ‘Olga’. With the Taunt canceled by Luxnilae, ‘Olga’ no longer was driven to attack mindlessly from the front, and skated around the side of Ralph that carried his tower shield and got behind the heavily armored and slow man.

As she got behind him, she slashed at the less well-armored joints in his armor, drawing blood, though only barely, as she ran her curved ice-swords across the underside of his knees. The pain and shock of this attack dropped Ralph to the ground, though not for long, as he quickly got back up and twisted himself to try and swat his former victim away as a true abuser would.

‘Olga’ was already gone, though, and had tossed one of her swords like a Frisbee, the added speed and inertia gained by spinning a few times with nearly zero friction thanks to ice and cold used to the extreme. Johann barely was able to register what was happening in time to raise his kite shield before the thrown blade slammed into it with force fit more for a melee attack made with a mace than a thrown sword made of ice.

The blade slammed into the shield and then erupted into a mass of ice, dragging the shield and the arm it was now frozen to down to the ground due to the added weight. Johann cried out in pain as the sensation of frostbite began to seep in through the affected limb, and he tried, again and again, to smash the ice away, to little, if any, effect.

“Shit! You little bitch! Is this how you treat your lovers?!” Ralph yelled as ‘Olga’ skated away.

“I never loved you.” ‘Olga’ retorted coldly. “You turned me into a doll, so I’ll show you the feelings I truly have for you. You know, the ones you made my doll of a body lock away along with my mind!”

“Ungrateful monster!” Haruto screamed as he managed to buff Johann enough for him to smash the ice that had covered both his shield and his left forearm. Johann, though, might have done better not to smash it so quickly, though, as the cold and ice had done some rather nasty things to his flesh, blood, and bone.

“DAMN IT!” Johann yelled out in agony. “MARY, YOU BITCH, HEAL ME!”

Mary, having been freed from partial mind control, reborn as a Lyrhean, and then renamed to Luxnilae, smiled sweetly and responded with a short and curt, “Go Fuck Yourself.”

Haruto looked around in a panic as he began to realize how fucked he and his fellow pedos were, and he tried to get up and run. He managed to get to his feet and bolted as fast as he could, but in so doing his foot caught his robe and he tripped on it, falling flat on his face.

He got up again and tried to run, this time holding the robe up to allow him to avoid stepping on it. He then heard a chilling, yet almost cruelly affectionate voice coming from behind him.

He looked back, his eyes widening as he saw ‘Olga’ skating after him with a manic expression of malice and fury.

“Haaaaaaaarutoooooooo! I’m coooomiiiiing for youuuuuuu!”

Haruto turned, screamed like a little bitch, and ran even harder, but in so doing forgot that he needed to hold up his robe, which his feet caught and caused him to fall and skid to a stop just inches from a door frame that was missing its door. He scrambled into a panicked crawl and grabbed the edge of the door frame as a fast-moving jagged tendril of frost rocketed up and around him, connecting to the place where he had placed his hand and erupting into a mass of ice that locked that hand, and the arm attached to it, in place.

Haruto turned his head and screamed again, and then screamed harder as a curved sword made of ice slashed across his face, cutting his eyes open and freezing them solid in one swift motion. Endlessly screaming, Haruto flailed around with his only free arm and kicked wildly with his legs, but no more attacks came.

His ears did pick up a sound that he didn’t know was good or bad, though. The sound of a body falling to the floor and not getting up, combined with ragged, haggard breath that sounded like a mix of extreme exertion and someone near death.
