Prologue

A guy without any special traits apart from being slightly attractive, barely graduating from middle school with meager grades, a weird person whose room is filled with disgusting figurines and novels, that is what people talk about behind my back.

I have spent most of my life completing numerous games and reading countless novels, because of this, both my grades and friends are always low. Although I’m already satisfied with my way of living, my parents had a different opinion.

‘Go outside and make friends!’ That is what my mom usually says. Yesterday was no exception. But I ignored her and played games all day and night instead, though now I regret not listening to her. As of why, well…

"Wait, isn't it Monday!"

Sitting upright from the bed, I looked at the clock on the wall. The arrows pointing that it was 7:50 am.

My class starts at 7 am so I was now considerably late even if I don't count the time to get there. Being a normal individual, I did what any normal person would do.

"Guess I’ll skip today"

 "Hoh? I don't think so"

Standing next to the halfway opened door. My mother scowled and threw me my unwashed uniform.

"Wear that"

"..."

Smelling the uniform that I FORGOT to wash last week. I scowled at the scent and was about to push it away when I saw my mother looked at me more menacingly as she stood there with crossed arms.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

Unwillingly, I stood up and wore the creased uniform and hugged my father.

"Thanks mom, if not for you I would have done something I would regret for the rest of my life"

"Hmmm mmmm alright alright!"

She tried to push me away but I held on tighter and tighter. After hugging her for a minute I separated from her and walked downstairs towards the kitchen while laughing.

"Chris you forgot your lunch"

My dad approached me from behind and gave me a boxed lunch while smiling amicably. Smiling wryly, I thought of how my mom and dad became a couple when their personalities are worlds apart.

"Thanks dad, bye"

Opening the door outside, I looked back. My mom and dad now stood next to each other urging me to go on.

Saying my final farewell, I closed the door and headed towards a bus stop. Walking to school from home usually takes about 30 minutes so I decided to use a faster way of transportation.

After arriving, I combed my hair using my hands and took out a five dollar bill from my pocket. Walking towards a nearby vending machine, I was about to insert the five dollar bill when a strong gust of wind blew it away towards the road.

“Nooo!”

I ran without caring for my safety and did not notice a speeding car heading my way. I jumped up and grab my source of happiness and only noticed the car as it sped up and nearly hit me.

Wiping my forehead that was filled with cold sweat, I thanked the heavens for letting me keep my precious life and did not notice a truck that suddenly appeared from a corner.
