Chapter 1

[Okutama Town]

"Oka-san...Oka-san"

The boy shouted to grab the attention of his mother who was walking a bit quickly to reach the adobe of Kamado on Mt.Kumotori.

Watching her leave at this time in the chilling days of winter he became a bit worried. Even though he knew it was supposed to be a task given by his father.

His mother was inherently weak due to which she was prone to the regular lapses of illness. 'Fortunately, husband got the offer from the merchant, In these difficult times, it was becoming increasingly difficult to keep our family running without a proper source of money.'

Tasked with an urgent errand she had to move by herself in the biting cold. Though it would have been easy work if not for the fact that the sun was close to setting down.

They were a small family of three, including her husband and her only child.

Her husband was a Blacksmith.

Like every man with a dream, Asahiko also went out to explore the world, to widen his horizon. Asahiko on his journey met many people. But the people who had an effect on his life would amount to be less than the fingers a human could possess in one hand.

One of them was a master blacksmith from a village hidden in mysteries.

While the other was his wife, Natsumi.

One made him experience the joy of crafting while the other made him experience the never-ending taste of sweetness known as love.

Asahiko after learning the art of smithing from the mysterious blacksmith was confident that now he and his wife would be able to endure the hardships of this world... together.

Although the popularity of such a profession was decreasing day by day due to the advancement of a giant known as industrialization. Where everything was gradually transforming slowly but surely into something that would make the work of men easy, a profession like smithing, which required manual labor at every step would surely not be any more popular.

But for a family of three, it was sufficient enough.

Lately, with low orders and requests from the community, it was becoming certainly difficult in the times of Cold, but luckily, a merchant from the city ordered a huge stock of utensils.

If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

For that, they need coal, and what's better than asking her friend Kamado Kie for they are one of the only sellers of coal in Okutama.

While she was hurrying she suddenly heard the shout of her only son, her cute little potato. Turning around she grasped the sight of a young boy with short black hair and red eyes, eyes that shined just like hers.

He had a short stature among his peers but a good look nonetheless. With a scarf in his hands, he trotted towards her.

[Natsumi POV]

Turning around I found my lovely little potato running towards me with a scarf in his hands

'Oh my, I must have forgotten wearing one, but how could my husband allow him to chase behind me at this time... for all the paranoia he has against the night... humph this calls for a worthy punishment.' With the thought of punishing Asahiko-san, I moved toward my little monster.

"Okaa-san... Look I got your scarf... you must have been cold."

'Look how cute my little monster is...'He surely did go on me rather than that smelly old man. Taking the scarf from his hands I sighed "Maa-chan, mama is not feeling cold at all... and why did you come out at this time??? See the sun is also about to set. Did Maa-chan forget what papa tells you about going out late???"

I looked at him for answers, though I know I'm being a bit too strict on him even though the cute little monster bought me my scarf. 'Maa-chan loves mama so much... hah on your face old man...'

"But ... but you will get cold, then you will get ill too and then... and then you will have to eat porridge... yuck..." Maa-chan told me his reason and it was totally not fair being this cute.

Picking him up I covered him in the scarf he bought for me," NOO... I bought it for you..."

"Hai-hai" Holding him together in my arms I bought him close to my face and said, "But healthy Maa-chan is more important for mama..."

Seeing a blush creeping on his cute little face was enough for my heart. "Maa-chan let's go together, this way you can keep mama warm and safe... okay?"

"Really???" he said.

Pinching his nose softly I exclaimed, "Yeshhh, now let's go... we will be back before Sun completely sets okay..."

"Hmmm"

"Oka-san why does Oto-san not allow us to go out at night?" 'Hmmm, how do I say it... even I don't completely believe what he says ... Of course there is no such thing as demons who crawls at night...' Plotting my points, the best answer that I could provide is "Maa-chan after the day ends everybody goes back to his/her home... So that they can be with their family, Similarly papa wants us to be together at night like everybody okay..."

'For now this much should be enough... Sorry, Maa-chan ... mama cannot tell you the real reason... yet'

'Oka-san does not say the truth... just like Oto-san...' I wonder what actually happens at night...

Hello readers

yours truly here...

i have been preparing a plot for my demon slayer fanfiction since a long time.

But lack of time, engagement, and for sure my Novice ass makes it kind of difficult for me to write ... HAHA

Anyways I'd like to complete the novel as per the plot I had decided.

But do not expect a Masterpiece... Though I'll create many when I would be able to.

Till then sign out...
