DEMON KING IN MAKING
Some more things about this world

Some more things about this world

[Tarun's POV]

My mind was so absorbed in my thoughts that I did not realize that she had finished her work and was standing beside me.

She cleared her throat and asked, "Shall we go now?"

Her voice broke me out of my thoughts. I looked up at her and nodded, then got up.

After some time, she started walking, I followed her until we stood in front of an old house.

As I entered the house, I heard a voice of a woman.

"Lisa, is that you?"

"Yes, Mother," she replied and turned to look at me.

She said, "Please wait, I'll bring some clothes for you," and went into a room.

A few minutes later, she returned with a pair of clothes and gave them to me.

Taking the clothes that seem to fit me perfectly, I turned to see her.

"Those were my husband's clothes" I could see she looked sad when she mentioned him.

It surprised me; she looked so young to be married.

"You can change into that room," she said, pointing to one room.

I stepped into the room, closed the door, then looked at the clothes. They were a pair of black pants and a black shirt. I quickly put it on and went outside.

After I exited, I saw a woman holding herself up with clutches next to Lisa. Both of them looked at me at the same time.

I looked up at Lisa and she smiled and said, "You look good". Then she turned around to see that old lady and said, "Yes, this is the man I told you about."

"You are about the same age as my son," she smiled at me and said, but she sighed and stopped talking. I saw that both of them were looking quite sad.

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

I couldn't resist asking, "What happened?"

It was an old woman who spoke to me and said "He was a soldier, a year ago he died while defending the beast tide." She sighed and I could see the tears in her eyes.

"Oh!!! I am really sorry for that." I said.

The woman shook her head and said, "Oh well, it's already in the past. Lisa told me about you, come and have dinner with us."

We sat down at the table where the food was arranged.

The old lady served us the meal and said.

"Even though it is not much, it is good."

Shaking my head, I said, "It's the thoughts that count."

In response, she smiled and said, "I heard something happened to you. Maybe someone wanted to harm you"

My mind pondered for some time and then asked, "Is killing someone easy?"?

"When you have power, everything becomes easy," she said while reminiscing.

We finished the meal after some time.

As I stepped out of the house, I saw that night was approaching. There is no electricity in this world, and people are still using candles and lanterns.

"It was only yesterday that I was in a palace, and now I am here. Within a day, I have seen both highs and lows in this world." I thought to myself.

"Are you okay?" Lisa asked me as she stood next to me.

I shook my head and replied, "Nothing. I was just thinking about what I would do. I even forgot the rules of this world; whether I was from this place or another, I do not know." I lied.

Her eyes lingered for some time before she said, "Maybe you should go to town hall and register yourself, so you could check your skills there."

"Townhall?" I muttered and looked at her.

"Could you please tell me more about this world, I really seem to forget everything," I asked, wondering whether she could help me as I knew nothing about this world?

She thought for a moment before she replied, "I know little about it since we are commoners and we have little power," She paused for a moment before continuing, "But one thing is certain, everyone is born with a class and a skill"

"So you have skills too?" I asked her and was quite surprised by her response.

She smiled and said, "I am a commoner class with a magical apprentice skill"

As I raised my eyebrows, I thought she would be quite valuable if she had this skill.

"I know what you're thinking. Not every magical apprentice can be a mage. Once a skill is upgraded, you change your class, but only one in a thousand could do that."

Her words made sense to me, and I nodded when she continued

"I indeed work for a mage as an apprentice, but in reality, I am a maid. Many people are working under him," she said.

I understood some things about this world. I can learn more when I visit that town hall.

I looked at her and said "Thanks for telling me all this"

She smiled and said, "No problem, but anyway, I will prepare the bed for you. You can sleep here." After that, she left.

As I looked at her diminishing figure, I thought,

"Innocent"
