The party has found the source of the corruption, a wild magic zone. Using math and magic they found the centre to be approximately 2 miles from the boundary in a specific direction. Marking the direction and the area using fire and blood magic due to overlapping ideas, they found their way back there the next morning.
The zone had expanded a little. It wasn't much in travel distance so once they found their markers, they began their travel. It was an uncomfortable experience for The Warlock and The Sorcerer. Their own magic felt 'off' when travelling through the wild magic zone. It felt agitated, stirring within them. The interaction was completely internal, but as The Warlock pulled on her channel to cast a spells, she felt the difference. She didn't lose control of the magic, it just felt 'affected'. With her relatively low power spells it wasn't so bad, she hadn't tried to actually cast yet, but she felt it would probably be fine.
The tense atmosphere was annoying and keeping their guard up for the entire walk was exhausting. Not even 10 minutes into their walk their morale was at an all-time low. It made the entire trek much more difficult. They had decided to keep close when walking through the wild magic, no longer splitting like they did previously. The other decision was to keep silent; it may make it more boring but all three felt this was the safest option. It was still a very exhausting hour before anything else happened.
The Fighter was the first to spot it, he had been keeping the most alert between the three of them. The beast was instantly recognisable as corrupted. It had the frame of its previous form, a rabbit. Since then, it had grown to at least 3' high. Its fur mottled with splotches of shifting colours. Its eyes shifting as well. It also had massive teeth and was even growing tusks from the side of its maw. The monster spotted them soon after and turned fully towards them.
The corrupted rabbit shot forward like a cannon in a single leap from its powerful legs. The Fighter, walking on the front was quick to react, but it was a close call. The tusks from the rabbit gorged his vest and left a red line on his chest. The whole party was alert now and before the rabbit turned, two spells flew at its back. However, instead of the force and fire that the bear had faced not two days ago, a shower of sparks and spray of acid hit the rabbit. The sparks did little damage but remained in the air. The acid was far more effective. It began to melt the fur and where it touched the splotches they shifted to acid as well, further spreading the acid over the body of the rabbit.

Seemingly oblivious to its near demise, the rabbit jumped forward again and this time The Fighter wasn't fast enough. His leg got clipped from the rush and even this brief contact made him instantly lose his balance and cry out in pain. He fell to one knee and tried to keep his head in the fight, but it was unnecessary. The rabbit soon died from acid, exacerbated by its own body. The Warlock and Sorcerer regrouped with The Fighter, who seemed to be at least able to walk, and set off back towards to eye of the zone.
They encountered no more animals after this and soon found an orb floating above the canopy, visible waves of magic coming off of it. The Fighter by this point was truly done with this whole thing. He had been walking on a hurting leg for an hour, likely even more and it showed. He really needed to lie down and was not dealing with another magical bullshit artifact. Before either The Sorcerer or The Warlock could stop him, he threw an axe right at the orb.
It struck true and the orb exploded outwards in a shower of light. A wave of force briefly pushed them all back but not much else happened. Whirling on him, The Sorcerer began to yell.
"ARE YOU INSANE?! DO YOU REALISE HOW LUCKY WE ARE THAT WE ARE NOT FUCKING DEAD?! THAT LEVEL OF MAGICAL POWER WOULD HAVE KILLED US ALL."
The Fighter fully accepted the tirade from The Sorcerer as he decided to lie down on the ground. He was really done with all this magical bullshit. Just when he realised that he should have been looking for more infected animals, the quest paper in his back pocket vibrated.

They had only a couple more second to consider before they quickly grabbed their nearby gear and were back on the road of light, back to the planet. The short trip back was in silence, none of them understanding that magical backlash from the crystal being destroyed was a lot more effective on the animals than on them. Soon after The Warlock found herself back in her room, ready for some lunch and a good shower.
