Prologue

The grey wolf panted, its heavy paws making loud thuds on the forest floor. Its been running for more than a week and it was definitely feeling the consequences. Just a couple of miles ago, it experienced painful cramps; two days into its journey, it puked from loss of water and food.

But, it pushed on. It had to reach the white wolf known as Alaska.

Just then, lights appeared in the distance, those of a house. With renewed vigor, the wolf pushed past the borders and it burst through the wall of the house. The occupants shrieked and scrambled out of the way of the flying debris. "Elaine!" Someone shouted, before the wolf faced a lady with pale blue markings on her body, wielding an obsidian spear. An albino male stood behind her protectively, glaring at the wolf. The wolf whined at the Alpha as she stared it down to submission. It bared its neck and rolled on its back, tucking its tail between its hind legs. The Alpha, Elaine, lowered her spear but kept it tightly in her fist. "Shift." Was all she ordered.

Where once lay a grey wolf, now kneeled a naked pale man, scrathes and claw marks marring his upper chest and face. He turned his head, looking for the one he knew would be by her Alpha's side. And he made eye contact with eyes that mirrored his. The same light green eyes met hers and she gasped, before grasping her head, moaning in pain.

Elaine looked to her delta in confusion and an albino girl was by Alaska's side in a second. Her hands glowed and the kneeling man growled at her, "Don't touch her! Get away from her!" And he lunged. But he didn't get far as Elaine grabbed his neck and with strength he didn't know she possessed, she shook him until he whined and lowered his head.

"You do not talk to my mate like that. Now, state your name and business. Make it good or I won't hesitate to throw you in the cells and give you pain you can't imagine from my own hands," Elaine harshly whispered before he was let go.

"A-alpha, do-don't. That's, he's my brother," a small voice whimpered. Elaine's eyes widened. The albino girl gasped. The other occupants of the house that he completely forgot about had varying reactions: a girl with blonde hair stood next to an Asian man with purple hair gasped and her hands flew to her mouth; two older looking people had crouched down next to Alaska and the female hugged Alaska tightly and the male looked over at the kneeling man, searching his eyes for any signs of deception.

Alaska, even in the older woman's arms, only stared at the man and it was like looking in a mirror.

The man cleared his throat, "My name is Sebastien Smith, the older brother of Alaska. Or as she was named, Sophia Smith."

And with that, Alaska succumbed to the darkness.
