Smells like a conspiracy

Smells like a conspiracy

Light blinded me for a few seconds as I furiously blinked trying to see clearly.

Last thing I remembered was biking across the street and then a car honking at me. Wait shit is this a hospital? Am I paralyzed why can't I see? I panicked.

The world finally came into focus as I felt someone wipe something from my up I saw a gigantic face staring down at me causing me to freeze in fear.

"Oh it seems the little one already opened his eyes." said the giantess holding me. "Here you go doctor" she said, passing me to someone else.

What the heck what's going on? I thought as I was passed to an older looking gentleman who smacked me in the ass. "Fuck" I screamed out but all that came out was "wah"

"What a set of lungs he has Mary. Laughed the old man."Here hold him for a second before we take him for some more examinations". I was then passed to a very pretty brunette woman.

"Hello Marcus, welcome to the world "she said, lightly pinching my cheeks. The lady held me in her arms rocking me for a few moments while my mind reeled with revelations I'd been reborn somehow but what kind of world is this? I need more information.

I was interrupted from my thoughts when the doctor made a light cough "Ok mary time for him to go into the crib so that we can take him". I was then taken from my mothers arms and placed in the crib while they wheeled me out of the room. I didn't have enough strength to escape the swaddle burrito they tied me in so I couldn't look around but I did listen in on the conversation between the nurse and the doctor.

"Another male and he's pretty big. What do you think? Do we have another laborer on our hands?" said the female who I assumed to be a nurse of some sort.

"No, I highly doubt it. We've already got the laborers covered for the next few years. Besides, it's up to the mayor to decide" said the Doctor. The crib stopped abruptly and I heard a knock before I was brought into a new room.

"Ah so this is Mary's kid huh let's take a look at him" Said a new male voice as I was finally picked up again coming face to face with an old man with white hair and an equally white beard. "Ah what a big little fellow might easily be the biggest youngin in his generation" he laughed holding me by the body.

I however did not give a single crap about what the old man was saying because at his side was something infinitely more interesting. At the old man's side was a Gardevoir, a real honest to god Gardevoir. I let out an excited squeal. "I was in Pokemon and I could become a is a dream come true."I thought. This dream however shattered within seconds at the old man's next words.

The old man carrying me let out a deep sigh. "He has the eyes of a trainer,'' he said softly, rocking me in his arms.

" Why not let him be a trainer we cou–". began the doctor.

The doctor's words were cut off however when the mayor screamed suddenly startling me. "We could do what? Send him and all the rest of the children off to slaughter it doesn't matter how many of us there are that thing out there can't be beat!".

A white hand extended, touching the mayor on the shoulder."Gardevoir." I felt the mayor's shoulders sag at that.

"You're right girl, I gotta calm down". He looked me back in the eyes and spoke again. "For what it's worth, I truly am sorry little one, maybe in another life you can be a trainer."

He placed me back into the crib as he turned to Gardevoir "Gardevoir he is to be a Karp jumper let him at least have a taste of the trainers lifestyle".

"Gardevoir". It said nodding stepping toward me

"And of course the standard rules: No going out on the full moon. No going into the water off the island. No training of any pokemon except from your profession." He said then turning to look back at the doctor. "I'm sorry about my outburst Hector but we cant fight it again we lost more than half our population last time and gained nothing it didn't even seem damaged by the attempt".

It was then that the Gardevoir stepped even closer standing right above my crib. I cried out in fear with my mind reeling from the revelations "Wait what's going on am i gonna get mind controlled no this can't happen"i raged but all that came out was crying and screams.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

With that the Gardevoirs eyes glowed. I cringed, shutting my eyes waiting for something. Only for nothing to happen "uh wait i don't feel mind controlled what's going on" I thought opening my eyes once again.

"Gardevoir,'' it said as its eyes stopped glowing and stepped away from the crib.

"She said the seeds were planted just fine, now take him for his tests," the mayor said, speaking once again. "What the hell is going on here?" I thought to myself.

The next few days were a blur. Besides that encounter nothing was weird, no more secret conversations about a secret threat or anything just a mother swaddling her child and more tests and observations. There were also no more pokemon either much to my ire. I expected there to be a Chansey or Audino since it was a hospital but nothing just the same nurse named Janice who would routinely come to check on us.

Finally after three full days of bed wetting and milk drinking we were released from the hospital. I was placed in a back facing stroller so I couldn't see anything but it was a long walk from the hospital to our home at least 40 minutes if my counting was right. I almost nodded off due to having no stimulation and having energy reserves of a newborn but I was awoken when mother finally pulled back the sun hood from the crib blinding me momentarily.

"Were here Marcus "she said, pulling me out of the stroller prison. "This is our home,'' she said. Looking out I saw a home surrounded by an orchard of different trees with a bunch of different colored fruit. I assumed they were berries considering this was the pokemon world.

"Venusaurrrr" came a voice to my left .Swiveling my tiny head to the left I saw a giant ugly frog looking thing with a flower on its back trotting over.

"Ahh there you are Petunia. I missed you so much,'' she said, going up to it. "Here look, this is Marcus, he's our new family member".She said, holding me out for Petunia to inspect.

The venusaur let out a venusaur in a sort of cheer like manner as it stuck out one of its vines caressing my cheek with it. I let out a giggle at its toothy grin on second thought it was the ugly kind of cute like a french bulldog.

"Now then girl i hope you took care of the orchard with me gone , everyone's counting on us to farm for them" my mom said getting back up and putting me in the stroller.

Hmm seems my mom was a berry farmer. Interesting I guess a Venusaur fell into an allowed pokemon as it could speed berry growth up with the pollens from its flower.

For the first week at home nothing happened with my mother just tending to the grove with me in a pouch in front of her. The berries smelled delicious but I had no teeth so sadly, no eating for me just yet. We did however walk back into the town proper where I saw a variety of different people and even some more pokemon.

"Ah mary how are you" called a lady with a Meowth. "I'm fine, hello Joyce". She politely said , stopping to say hi. " Ah this must be little Marcus," she said, pinching my cheeks.

I however did not care about this random lady as I was busy looking at the Meowth and noticed it had a round stone on its collar. The lady saw my gaze and said "Ah, it seems he wants a pet. You let me know if you want one there's plenty of small little pokemon who would make a perfect pet for him".

"Maybe when he's older, Joyce, if I got one now I'd be the one taking care of it," she laughed.

As we kept walking I saw more and more people with pokemon but they were all single stage evolutions all with stones in their collars. This drew me to the conclusion that they all had everstones. 2 days later however is when the interesting thing happened. See we would usually sleep with our blinds open looking at the moon before bed and according to my moonwatch tonight would have been the full moon. Instead of looking at the moon however, my mom returned Venusaur into his pokeball which she never does and shut the door, putting up all the blinds and turning off all the lights and candles in the house.

This left me very confused but then it started. There was a loud roar that sounded like it may have emanated from the very island itself before it started absolutely pouring causing me to freak the hell out. My mom however was calm and opened a book deciding now was the perfect time to read to me.

I'll spare you the rhymes and hidden meanings. But the moral of the book was that the god of water roamed on full moons and if it caught you outside you would get eaten. The book didn't describe what the god was, however simply dubbing it the Leviathan. From what I could gather from context clues it must have been some huge pokemon if its roar sounded throughout the island and it could make it rain with such force all night.

The days fell into a routine in the months leading to me being able to crawl. In this time something new happened as we went to the mining outpost to deliver some berries and I saw some Onix Steelix as well as a Gigalith. I added the Gigalith to my list of pokemon I needed since it could learn gravity, a must need move for strength and speed training my pokemon.

Fast forward to 11 months old when I could finally talk fluently. I had said my first words at 9 months and had now finally progressed to the point of being able to talk full sentences. The Karp season also apparently started up again and I was finally taken to the giant arena-like building I had seen while in town.

The stadium was chock full of people and I noticed practically everyone I had seen was there although it still looked pretty empty which was odd.

The skeevy mayor came on the microphone a second later. "Hello everyone it's your wonderful Mayor Karp here and I'm happy to announce the start of the friend league matches."

What followed was a literal Magikarp jump fest where participants would send their Magikarp out and compete for who's could jump up the highest. The magikarp however were a little odd as they all had different colors and patterns. That's when I realized why everything seemed familiar. I was in the game Magikarp Jump. This was literally Karp Town.

I was pulled from my realizations by my mom's cheers as she bounced and shook me in her lap "Look Marcus you're gonna be just like them when you're older" she said.

"No mama,'' I said, turning around to face her. "I'm going to be better," I said, smiling sweetly.
