YEAR XXXX,
Casket Way Avenue, Subway entrance
My body is roughly lifted by strangers in white garment, nee-naw-nee-naw the ambulance blared incessantly, the men in white entered the ambulance after placing my body inside, as I stared in confusion they departed the scene.
Nameless young man: (thought) Was that me?
Shaking my head in disbelief, I looked around only to spot a flickering ball of light, near the subway entrance. The ball moved in a circular motion like a beacon. I followed the light as it weaved a path in the darkness, my movements became irregular as I traverse the subway stairs. Minutes became hours as I trudged behind, until the very light I followed vanished leaving nothing but darkness in its wake.
Nameless young man: (panic) hello, anyone?
Stranger wearing a top hat: (bows) welcome, I have been waiting for you, Jack.
Jack: (swivels his head in surprise) who are you, and how do you know who I am?
Stranger wearing a top hat: (smiles) I am Judge Dread, your guide, and biggest fan.
Jack: (nervously walks toward Judge Dread) Do you know whats going on?
Judge Dread: (smiles evilly, revealing a toothy grin) its very simple, my dear Jack, you are neither dead or truly alive therefore I have been tasked with guiding you toward “Carnival” and bestowing you the title “Deathless”.
Deathless Jack: (fall to his knees) how, my life was just starting, everything was falling into place, I even had......
SzzzzzzzzzzzzzSTTTT!
Deathless Jack: (turns around) What was that?
Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
Before I could utter another world, Judge Dread grabbed my hand, pulling me toward him.
Judge Dread: (sweats slightly, looks at his watch) Their here, WE NEED TO LEAVE, NOW!
Deathless Jack: (frowns while struggling) whose here, let me go!
Judge Dread: (releases Jack) there no time to explain, you need to trust me and run!
My footsteps echoed within the subway tunnel, as me and Judge Dread swiftly made our way north, ever deeper into the darkness.
Deathless Jack: (breathing heavily) where are you taking me Dread?
Judge Dread: (ignores question and stops) were here.
Judge Dread smiles, pointing at a large piece of glass, laying abandon on the subway floor.
Judge Dread: (jumps in excitement) There it is, our escape!
Deathless Jack: (blankly stares at the piece of broken glass) I don't understand?
Behind us shadowy figures appear, their bodies congealing with the darkness.
Shadowy figures: Give us the boy, Bison!
Before I could utter a word, Judge Dreads thick set arms arbitrarily shoves me toward the man-size mirror, I gasp in surprise as my body merges with the mirror, swallowing me whole.
Shadowy figures: (trembles in anger) noooo, you will pay for this, Bison.
Judge Dread: (laughs hysterically) its too late, the games will once more start anew!
In front of me is a endless desert, in the distance a circus top illuminates the darkness.
