Death Note : A New Story
The First Experiment, Part 2

The First Experiment, Part 2

While writing the details of Ray Banner, I took the courtesy of making him say 'killer' five times before his death. Why? To have an audience at my disposal for further experiments. Plus, my name stands for the transliteration of the word killer. Making the rats in my lab speak of my name would make the other rats think. Wouldn't it be fun to see them squirm before they die?

Now all I had to do was wait. Wait, for an autopsy report. Inmates are often criticised in the media. This makes it rather easy for any information to travel across the public. However, no matter how fast the media works, they wouldn't give a live report on the inmates. I mean, they have other work to do after all.

I spent the rest of the day planning out my set of actions for the future. After checking whether the death note could alter human limitations, I think checking through the laws of physics would be preferable. By covering up concepts of time and space, I could determine whether this notebook could alter time to my advantage. But before all that does happen, I need to verify all the conditions of the alteration of human limits.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

I waited over a week and didn't write any names on the death note. Then, the news was finally covered by the media.

'A 27 year old prisoner, named Ray Banner was arrested a month ago. Sources claim that he died due to a mental breakdown before his execution. During the time of the autopsy, it was noticed that his body had shrivelled up into dry skin. His inner organs were dried out beyond repair. Doctors confirmed that they had never seen such a case even though the prison facility insisted that it was a mental breakdown that caused his death. Could this be case of the prison facilities abusing their prisoners? Stay tuned to Hikari news.'

That was all I needed to know. I switched off the TV knowing that my experiment was a success. Then I thought. This was a case where resources were available. I mean, he always had a brain. It was just that he never used it to this potential. Could a person become incredibly buffed with bulging muscles if he was extremely thin with the power of the death note?

At this point, the death note was merely serving as a form of curiosity that I had in mind. I realised I wasn't using it to it's full potential, but maybe this was for the greater good. If I killed too many people at once, it would become easy to trace my nature.

I ended my chain of thoughts and decided to buy some apples.
