Chapter 2

'AAAAHHH… Damn, I'm blacking out again. And just when I thought I had a chance to survive.’

I went into dreaming state again. It felt miserable, blood and bones and weapons everywhere.

Fuck. I really want to get out of here. Everything became black again. The dark atmosphere is suffocating me…. I know this is a dream but everything feels so real.

The bone chilling cold, the wind is cold and every time it blew past me I started shuddering uncontrollably.

'what is this place, what was that black slimy liquid. DAAAAMN!!’

If I was awake right now I would destroy that stupid liquid! What the fuck did it do to me?

My nose started to bleed and my chest hurt. I don't know what was happening to me so suddenly but it definitely didn't look good.

“COUGHH !! COUGGHHH !! COUGH….”

Shit.

I brought my hand to my mouth. I touched my mouth and brought it under my vision. My hands had a tint of red and it looked especially dark.

Damn I coughed blood out, it didn't look too bad though.

I looked around and found myself in that accursed street again. The street looked as gross as it did before.

The dead man, the blood everywhere and the walls and ground which looked like somebody had blasted it with grenades.

'i need to get to the hideout before they find me.’

'HELLO’

Damn!!

The police found me already!

I looked around but nobody was there.

“Where are you? Come out.”

I didn't hear anything back. What was going on? Was it just a hallucination?

No! I heard that voice clearly. I became fully alert and observed my surroundings but nothing happened. People need to be patient with this kind of things.

Nothing happened after fifteen minutes.

“Fuck it I don't care whether it was a hallucination or not.”

I need treatment right now, I can't waste time here.

The wallet was still lying down there. I picked it up and shoved it into my pants.

I was topless right now except for the cloth that was being used as a bandage.

My jacket had a flower of blood on it but I didn't really care, I just took it and wore it.

Although I was really tired I couldn't rest right now.

I started walking out of the street and I was welcomed by another fork. These alleys were creepy and not even one human could be found around here but I was still thankful to them. If not for this maze like structure I could be potentially dead right now.

I kept taking the right turns and after i sometime found three different lanes but I just kept to the right. It was not like I was going around in circles. The structure was a bit complex and I had to do it.

I finally heard some honking noises. Guess I found a busy street. This was pretty good for me. I kept taking turns according the noises and finally found alley that had some people in it.

All of them were shady looking but Its not like I care. I just went out on the main street. And looked for a taxi.

The street was unexpectedly bustling and had many people in it. There were bright neon boards everywhere and it blinded me for a second.

It was dark in the alleys so it took some time for my eyes to adjust to the lighting.

“I AM NOT YOUR ENEMY”

“Who?!”

Damn I heard that dark voice again.

The people around me were looking at me with strange gazes and the children seemed to be distancing themselves from me.

They were probably shocked by my sudden scream.

I quickly stopped a taxi and got into it.

“Hey mate, where do you wanna go?”

A black guy asked me with a smile. He looked friendly.

“114 Gr-grove Ave”

“Ohh, that's a pretty remote area you're livin in.”

“. “

“Hahaha not much of a talker eh?”

“. “

“You heard about the recent news man? Apparently a national fugitive got out of prison. It's supposed to be a rumour or there would pictures of the guy all around the place.”

“. “

“OK.. I'll just shut up”

The ride was silent from then on. After about an hour or so we finally reached the place, I told him to stop at a location one kilometer away from my hideout.

“How much?”

“That would be 15 dollars”

I took out that man's wallet and handed him a 100 dollar note and took the change from him before walking out of the car.

“Have a good day man!”

I didn't want to do this but…..

“Craashh”

The car’s window broke and I took gripped my fingers around his neck.

“Huuuff puuuufff”

SFX: suffocation sounds

He struggled for a bit before passing out.

What I like about the corner I told him to stop was a blind spot in the roads. So nothing could be captured on cam.

I took out the taxi’s camera before destroying it. I put the man in the back seat before starting the car and driving it away to another blindspot in the area and parking the car there.

Then I wore that man's clothes and walked to hideout. The places near my hideout were all badly managed and didn't have cameras and many other facilities.

I knocked on the door.

“What’s the code?”

A cold and enquiring voice came from the other side.

“. “

“What's the code?”

I really didn't want to say this but I don't have a choice.

“I am gay and one day gays will rule the world”

My sound was monotone and I really struggled to say this.

“Hahahaha”

A middle aged man opened the door and laughed out loud. He looked at my face and started laughing even more.

“I have to say Carter you always struggle to say it don't you?”

“Shut up and let me in, I am not in the mood for jokes.”

“Really now, hasn't your temper gotten worse.”

“. “

“Again with your depression…. It happened long ago Carter just let it go.”

“Shut up.”

“Oh well, welcome back.”

The young man in front of me had glasses and brown hair he was wearing a lab coat which is probably very casual to him.

He walked up to me and gave me a hug.

“I am not gay.”

I pushed him away, I was slightly annoyed with this guy.

“Ohohoho~ that's not what you said at the entrance now did you?”

“. “

“Alright enough with this don't you have anything to say to your best friend after being separated for years?”

Although I felt annoyed at him he is the only family I have, not that I would ever say it to him.

“Its-its good to be back”

“Well that’s a lot coming from you.”

“i got poisoned, check it up.”

“Oh you should have mentioned it earlier you know!”

This guy is my only friend left and the only person I truly trust. Jason miles, a doctor of high skill but doesn't like to be in the spotlight. Even after so many years, time hasn't changed him.
