Chapter 2

"Well the reason I'm here[http://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png], other than I wanted to see you, is. As official messenger of the High Court, Elaena Fellwitch, have been presented with a letter of attendance and recognition. And are to appear at the Fallen castle within twelve hours of reading the letter." Marinette said in formality as she fished the letter from her brown knapsack, that contrasted with the colours from her light pink and blue outfit. I flicked my attention to Kai Hashimoto, just in curiosity. The colors that graced the middle of his forearms and lower legs all the way down to his finger tips and toes, (the same as the rest of the rest of us ghosts), along with it being orange, they began shifting, signifying his confusion. His throat bobbed and then he opened his mouth.

"Stupid question. But are you two in some kind[http://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png] of relation ship, you know romantic wise?" Both his and Marinette's color changed to light pink, and blushed was clearly seen on their ghostly white faces. The blue on my arms and legs snapped to purple. Before my answer was spoken, I took the packed letter from Marinette, and began to walk away.

"Right that was an idiotic question, but no we're just really good freinds." Was my reply, and I began to get further away, but closer and closer to my home.

"Aww come on Ena, we're at least best freinds!!" Mari, my nickname for her, called after me in a whiney voice. Sariel, now flying above cawed for my response. Sariel is my raven as well as my familiar, it does make sense[http://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png] I am a witch. I sighed willing to calm. I paused, crouched down to jump and did so. From where i stood in the cobbled street i jumped up onto one of the many tiled roofs of the town of which I live.

I kept bent at the hip, as I ran and leaped across the houses. Until I reached one with black tile, and a red brick chimney and walked up to it, only to dive through it, as this was my house. And the fire place was never used as long as I have lived here. With Sariel following after I barreled into my living room, lights off and everything in order. I didn't bother with lighting the candles and went straight to my bedroom, leaving a trail with the clothes I had on, except for the undergarments of course. I sat on my bed. I looked ashamed at the bandages wrapped around my chest. "The lengths I go through just to hide them." I sighed and started unwrapping the bandages. Like the other clothes I threw them on the floor. I put on a bra for the occasion of going to the castle.

But for actual clothing, I put on a frilly white sleevless crop top, with gold lace, and a purple long sleeved vest, and buttoned it only once across the middle of my chest, the vest had a gold trim to match the shirt[http://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png] like clothing underneath. Then simplly just put on white shorts that went mid thigh. And simple knee high lace up brown boots. Nothing fancy.

I got up again and opened up the letter, took the two pages in it. Then walked to the front door, beckoned Sariel to my shoulder, and walked out. As I walked I read the letter, not needing to look where I was going, as I know the path by instinct.

The letter read,

"Dear Elaena Fellwitch, You are cordially invited[http://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png] to the ball veterans and protectors, you Elaena are both. But seeming as you never wish to attend this event, we at the court gave you another reason to come here. Well that's all see you in the hour, no doubt that you're walking while reading this. See you soon, your friends at the High Court." The letter read, and more, two pages for the different matters. I sighed and crumpled up the pages and through it away in a near bin. I looked ahead, and from where I stood the castle was half an hour away, if I were to walk. Well if they expect me to be there within the hour I guess I will run.

I picked up pace and ran with the wind, and reached the castle in fifteen minutes. At the gate, the guards didn't stop me, they even tried to start up a conversation, "Hey, Elaena what's the business today?" Asked the younger of the two guards. I didn't give a response let alone acknowledge him being there as I walked through the gate. I saw no gain[http://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png] out of talking to most of the people here, and so I usually keep my mouth shut. Not to mention the people here know me well enough that they can just send me a letter, and I'll go do the contract.

Although the letter they sent me was correct, I do need to come to the castle to complete the contract. But I shoved through the castle doors to be greeted by maids, as they directed to my suite in the castle, that I guess they prepared before I arrived. To be honest I was grateful for the room, but the problem was. The entire room was overly decorative and lavish, not to mention the color sceme was not to my taste, and the room it self didn't give me a sense of security, not at all like my little cottage.

None the less I thanked the maids, and entered the room and began my look around. At the end of the entry way was a wooden perch imating a tree, no doubt intended for Sariel. And so I shift my arm moitioning her to go onto the perch, she obeyed and flew over. Once again I wander around, leaving the entry way, there were two other rooms, the bed room and bathing. As soon as when I left the entry room through an arch way sheilded with a curtain on the outside. I entered the bed room and my emotions shone vermillion at the sight, although it seemed one of my special friends at the High Court, had been here. All around the room, in my favorite colors, high hanging ribbons adorned it, them all meeting in the cent, forming a makeshift hammock.

It added a nice touch of colors to the plain and distasteful rooms. A faint smile spread across my lips before I realized it. Immeaditly I threw off my shoes and jumped up to the ribbons and plopped myself down in the center, curling up in a ball. Before to llong, about five minutes actually. There was a knock on the wooden door to my rooms, and then the curtain was brushed aside, reaveling a man, as well as my freind from the court, Malakhi Vellsword. As he pushed back the curtain reaveling his beautiful features. His skin was sun kissed, he had a fair build not too muscular. His eyes a peircing sapphire eyes, and a hair of silver. His race would be elf as his drooping ears, were caught with light by the peircing in one. He looks a year or two older than me but none the less he was rather fine.

"I see you like the bed, and Sariel likes her perch." He stated as he petted Sariel on the head before walking over to me. I sat up and stuck out my tongue, and laid back. "May I join you?" He asked but didn't wait for my response as he climbed up.

"It's good to see you, Malakhi." And I gave a soft smile.

"From me as well." He replied and we touched our foreheads toghether, me now sitting up cross legged. "Anyway we down to business." He said as we pulled away, and my face went back to neutral. "Elaena, we have a week until the ball. Unfortunately for you Hell awaits..."
