For some others, it comes too late, as they spend painful days slowly losing themselves to the regrets accumulated through their long lives. In Kary's case, the moment to kick the bucket was neither here nor there. For while life had stolen any prospective future from her, it also meant the sweet release from all the painful things that kept her awake at night, an end to the suffering she had grown used to experiencing. Brought to a new world filled with magic and whimsical creatures as a result of either extreme or awful luck, depending on how you see it, Kary now had the opportunity to let her deepest desires run wild as she explores this fresh land.
