The hooded man pulled out a key and stuck it into the massive metal doors keyhole, twisting it.

A screen on the sterilized white wall next to the door flashed red, and displayed a warning message stating that the passcode must be put in within 15 seconds. The man jumped in shock, making his mask jiggle about, and then quickly ran over to the side and rummaged through a guard’s pockets. The screen flashed, and a monotone voice announced that there were ten seconds left.

He rushed back to the screen, finally noticing the camera watching his every move. He swore under his breath, and unraveled a scrap of paper, then punched the code into the screen. It flashed green, and the voice said. “Code verified. Access granted.” The door opened with a shudder.

The man ran into the room that was revealed, looking either way for more guards. He didn’t see any, so he continued through to a large metal desk covered with buttons and levers. He scanned the surface, and his eyes lit up as they passed over a large red button. “Emergency launch” the button stated. He slammed his finger down on it and jumped in happiness. An alarm sounded suddenly, and the doors behind him opened slowly.

Behind them was a group of guards eight strong, two of them with high powered rifles in their hands, the rest holding pistols pointed forwards. The man turned slowly towards the doors, hands up. Once he was facing them, he pulled down his mask and giggled. “The world is soon to be rid of this human plague,” he chuckled. “Too bad I won’t be there to see it.” The group of guards suddenly opened fire at the man, and he jerked around, being hit by bullets. As he died, he laughed a terrible, high pitched laugh.
