The experience was bizarre, the weakness was disheartening.
Standing before the dining hall Edgar look towards Dawnonvin and with a confident smile threw him a wink.
The great wizard opened the door and urged Dawnovin in ad followed after him.
Within the room Edgar found Lord Robs, the boys father and a woman besides him, an infant wrapped to her chest.
After a greeting and introduction, it was clear to Edgar that the woman was Dawnovins mother.
Edgar held Dawn by the shoulder and firmed his grip as the boy made to leave the wizards side.
The great wizard spoke “Young Dawnovin and I came to some decisions regarding his situation as a Sun-Child, as the expert on this topic I hold a firm stance on how to proceed. First and foremost, I must confirm some suspicions you all must have had about the boys Drawbacks. He does have Bloodlust and it stems from a Blessing of Martius, the God of War. That is all we decided to disclose. I trust you all understand that the future remains as uncertain as it always has been and if Dawnovin wants to reveal more, he will. Now, I suggested to Dawnovin, and I believe that part of why I was summoned, to seal his Innate and Bestowed Talents.”
The boy’s mother gasped and threw a look of concern first towards her husband than to Robs, quickly lowering her gaze again as it was untoward behaviour to a Baron. “Did you intend that all along?”
“I-, it was an idea, but we wanted to know more first.” Joen revealed with some shame hinted in his expression.
Before more words were spoken Edgar’s words reached out to inform and sooth the tension “Let me explain. I do not know what is known about Sealing, but I am quite an expert on the topic. Sealing is an arduous process. It will alter the boy’s physique to match his new capabilities, and the boy will feel weak until he adjusts. That he is still so young makes it easier. With his Talents sealed he will be of little harm even when the influence of his Drawback will push him towards unwanted actions. No Seal is permanent and the ones I apply can be released in stages. The release can be painful, I admit but in stages his explosive growth in muscle will be controlled and by no means dangerous. This IS an opportunity. He can achieve greater hights and learn control over his influences, while he is relatively harmless. Lastly, I mentioned Sealing Innate Talents, I have had success in that regard but there is some risk involved. Should I make a mistake it could unravel the other Seals at once and the boy would be in agony for a day or even longer. Such a mistake I have only made once with a client and there have been none ever since.”
There was arguing. The mother, Helinia was fervently making a case against the Sealing, wishing against any pain to befall her child.
Dawnovin looked downtrodden, the boy wished for no conflict between his parents in his sake, so he spoke “I will undergo the Sealing.” His voice quieted the room, all eyes on him.
The Talent Penetrating Voice. Words spoken with intent may not be ignored, Edgar recalled in his mind. The boy may have never used the Talent before but knowing his capabilities made him subconsciously aware.
Helinia walked over to her son, looked him in the eyes. With a pained expression she resigned “Fine.” She said as she pulled the boy into a tight hug, a few tears rolling down her cheeks.
Terribly upset, Helinia stormed outside, Joen on her heel.
“So? What do I have to do?” Dawn asked timidly.
“Every day at noon, you will come to me, and I will Seal your Talents. Each session will take no longer than an hour. It will take a month. The Seals will hold for about ten odd years after that if they have not unravelled by themselves, I will assist, or we will reinforce them. But these topics will be discussed when the unravelling is due.”

The day after Dawn was walking through town with George. After the incident nothing much changed between the two, they played and joked together like always and yet Dawnovin felt unease from within.
No two ways about it, today he would lose something, or rather he would put something away for another time. Both Lord Robs and his father believed it to be f great benefit to him, an opportunity for him to grow stronger. It was all up to Dawn to make his potential a reality and after that reap what has been sown.
“Hey Dawn? Do want to has duel?” George asked enthusiastically. Well something did change between the two. As it was rather apparent that Dawn was good at fighting, George wanted to challenge himself against Dawn over and over again and Dawn was very eager to have a spar. Once my Talents are sealed, can I still win against him? Who cares I will see to that once it happened! Full of glee the two began their daily duel. Testing out the each other’s mind, testing whether they reacted well and trying some harder strikes test the defence, a simple back and forth, and eventually after exchanging countless blows and engaging in plenty of unnecessary binds Dawn once again emerged victorious. Some of the boys techniques had finesse, most were just simple strikes. To the passerby it was obvious and literal child’s play but to the children it was as serious a matter as could be.
Noon came and the Chapel bell rang. “Good fight George! But I am to meet with a wizard and so do not have the time to lounge about with the likes of you!” Dawn proclaimed smugly.
Geroge made a doubtful expression and retorted “Sure. And Lord Robs has tasked me to slay a Dragon.”
“Whatever, I have to go. Be seeing you tomorrow.” Dawn answered made his way leisurely towards the keep.
Dawnovin knocked at the wizard’s door.
“Enter!” The old warm and yet monotonous voice spoke, and Dawn entered.
“Look who it is! I expected you to be here by the bell! Young Dawnovin I may have not a packed schedule, but we will hold our appointment at the agreed upon time. Am I being understood?”
Dawn stammered an apology, in his life he never had to be so punctual. Noon meant sometime close after the noon bell and afternoon sometimes after the afternoon and so on.
“I am sorry Edgar.” A sad expression on Dawns face.
“Do not be sorry. Be. On. Time! Now take a seat. I am not a mentor, but I will teach you the importance of punctuality while we have daily appointments. Among nobles and wizards alike, time is a limited resource, and we will take advantage of any minute we can!”
Sitting across Dawn now sat the great wizard Edgar What is Edgars last name? He counts as a noble I remember, because he is a wizard.
Edgar eased his expression from his minor outburst of anger from the young boy’s lack of decorum. The wizard held out his hand and Dawn reached out.
While Edgar let the image build in his mind he stated while recalling the list of Talents “Lets start with the Blessings of Aprilis. I will not touch Honest Face and Penetrating Voice. Penetrating Voice is a very minor Talent, but you need to learn to use it. So that leaves Acute Hearing and Vision and Enduring. Let’s go about this alphabetically. Acute Hearing will go first. It might be very disorienting, remembering the dependencies correctly you might feel dizzy once it is done.”
As the process did take up to two hours, the wizard claimed, Edgar started to converse with Dawn asking questions about tales to be told. “Never slayed nor even seen a Dragon.”
Some tales were told that the old man found terribly funny but no more than a chuckle escaped Dawns mouth and no stories of adventure could be gleamed from the wizards life.
At some point Dawn felt that the wizard lowered his voice for some reason and proclaimed to be done.
“I don’t feel any different?” Standing up from the chair the world started to spin like the floor was suddenly moving sideways the world started to spin and back into place a few time. Dawns eyes widened at this new sensation. “Woah?! What is happening?”
“Take deep breaths and close your eyes. Go to all fours.” The boy complied and went to the floor.
Minutes stretched on as the spinning and nausea-inducing feeling slowly subsided. His legs felt somehow weak and unsteady.
“That is among the fasted you would recover from and once we start with the Innate Talents you will experience it again. This was not even the worst, I was told.”
