Heavy darkness. That's all Demi saw, and felt for that matter, as she called out his name. Everything felt as if it was closing in all around her. Her breathing ragged and harsh. The only thing she could feel was the cold tile beneath her knees. Her mind empty yet swarming at the same time.
At the sound of the door clicking open, her eyes open with it and look over to meet her boyfriend, Seth's.
Just as she had expected, his eyes widened and focused on the object that was in her hand. She glances down to see it as well. A blade. Sharp enough to cut through paper like it's nothing. It has a single drop of blood on the tip. Her finger bleeding a little from a small incision.
Seth practically dives for the blade, taking it as quickly, and safely, as possible from Demi's hands.
He gives her a look. "You promised you would tell me if you hurt yourself again."
"I called for you, didn't I?" Her voice is flatter and colder than she expects it to be and it slightly shocks her.
Apparently it shocked Seth too because he winces slightly. "You still hurt yourself though."
"It wasn't intentional."
"Then how did it happen Demi." He says, gently taking her hand and looking at the cut.
She looks at her finger. "I went to grab something and that was just in the basket and it got my finger," She says as she glances at the blade. "I was holding it because i had grabbed it from the inside to check it out and see what had cut me. Then I just froze and collapsed after I realized what it was, then I called you."
He sighs, tossing the blade into the trash, knowing that's where it needs to stay, before he stands up and holds out a hand to Demi.
She takes his hand, letting the warmth of his hand sink into her skin for a second before letting him lift her off of the cold tile floor.
He gently leads her through their bedroom and into the living room where he sits her down, walks back into the bathroom, coming back with a bandaid, some toilet paper and some neosporin. He cleans up and covers her cut saying nothing. He knows words don't do much in this situation. Demi sits in silence, simply being thankful for his warmth.
Finally, he stands up and walks away from her, leaving her feeling cold and empty alone. This time, it's to go into the kitchen.
Demi stays where he left her, observing her bandaged finger. Minutes later, Seth returns to the living room with a cup.

"Hot chocolate helps. And good company." He smiles at her, holding the cup out to her.
She takes it gently, feeling the heat scald her fingers where they touch the cup. Almost as soon as she takes it from him, she sets it down on the coffee table. 'Too hot to drink.'
Seth walks over to where a warm blanket is neatly folded and opens it up before bringing it over to where Demi sits and plops down next to her, covering them both up. He gently places a hand over her hand with the bandaged finger and rubs it gently. She melts under his touch and calms slightly, getting a little bit of feeling back.
That little bit of feeling is all it took for the tears to finally start flowing. Demi lifts her hand and gently touches her cheek, feeling the moisture on it before her body begins to shake and she begins to sob.
"I'm sorry... i'm sorry...." She mutters, trying to wipe away the constant flow of tears.
"Hey, hey-- it's alright, everything's okay. Come here," Seth coos, opening his arms to Demi.
Slowly and shakily, Demi leans into him as he wraps his arms around her and he pulls her towards him, allowing her to lay on top of him. Her head right over his heartbeat.
This wasn't anything romantic for the two of them, just a mean of soothing and aiding.
"Shh. you're safe. I won't let you go. Just focus on my voice and my heartbeat. You're okay, we're both okay. Everything will be okay," he whispers to Demi, gently running his fingers through her hair. "I'm not going to leave you. You're never going to have to suffer by yourself again, I promise."
Her breaths are shaky and uneven as she shudders. Her sobbing slowly quiets as he whispers words of reassurance to her. Finally, her breathing begins to even out and she begins to calm down, burying her face into Seth's now damp shirt. Her mind now focused on his words and his heart. Finally, she's completely calm again, her own brain silenced.
His hand gently rubs her back and tangles in her hair as he obviously wishes there was more he could do to help the girl he loves so dearly.
"Can we stay like this for a while...?" Demi questions Seth softly. "It's nice..."
He smiles gently, "Of course baby girl."
Demi once again shuts her eyes while cradled in his arms. The darkness shrouds her again. It's gotten to be familiar to her, almost like another home. This time however, the darkness is peaceful.
