(Description: a Dark-attributed longsword used for assassinations)
This sword was pretty good considering its Bronze Quality. Normally, Bronze Quality Weapons would have Passive Skills, like randomly triggering a Critical Attack or Ignoring partly Defensive Stats. While it had an Active Skill limited in time, the additional Magical Damage was pretty interesting even though it was not very high.
Dealing Magical Damage as a Swordsman was always very surprising. Especially against targets with high Physical Resistance and low Magical Resistance.
The surprising part of the sword was its description, that heavily hinted at it coming from an Assassin's Guild. Jake was almost ready to bet this very sword that the Organization which produced it was named "Black Crow". He quite liked the design of it as well. It was one-handed like the fencing swords he was used to, and its black guard looked like the feathered wing of a crow. A cool sword.
He sheathed it, turning his attention to his Status Window. He had accepted his Level Up, gaining 5 APs. In order to reach 10 STR and fulfill the [Black Crow Sword]'s STR requirement, he had put 4 APs in his STR. He had dumped the last AP in his VIT, since he felt that his Health was a little low. He would remediate later to the uneven way his Attributes were spread. Right now, his Equipment was making up for some of his shortcomings. But he still felt like a glass cannon with high damage and no defensive stats.
He also noted that he had 400 XP left from his Level up. He could keep it for his next Level Up, or he could spend it on Skill Points to Level up his Skills. Each Skill Points cost 100 XP, amounting to 4. And since he would need 2 Skill Points to raise a Skill from Level 1 to Level 2, he was only able to Level Up 2 Skills out of the 4 he had.
He pondered for a bit. "Side Strike" and "Counter" had longer Cooldown timers. But if their special effects were used right, they could turn around most situations. "Chop" had a short Cooldown, and dealt a lot of damage. "Sword Wielder" provided negligible enhancements and would not change much at Level 2.
Oh well. Since "Chop" was a regular damage increase and had a low Cost and he preferred "Counter" to "Side Strike". He Leveled Up "Chop" and "Counter". They both gained a +5% increase to their multipliers.

Odin's Physical Attack had gone up by so much that if he had to PK a Level 0 Player right now, Jake was sure that he could instantly kill them with a Basic Attack. But he knew better than to celebrate that fact.
While all Level 0 Players were equipped with Garbage Equipment. He had a Bronze Quality Weapon, which was 3 Qualities higher than the Garbage Quality [Coarse Sword]. And a higher Quality was very important as it was an indicator of the Attributes and Effects of an Equipment.
As far as the Beta had gone, they had uncovered six Ranks of Quality: Garbage, Common, Iron, Bronze, Silver and Gold. And the gap of Attributes would gradually widen between Ranks.
A Garbage Weapon would only enhance one Attribute with one digit, whereas a Common Weapon would directly jump to enhancing one Attribute by 10 to 60 more. There was a big gap between both because of the nature of their Qualities. Garbage Equipment was always Level 0 and could not be enhanced. Whereas all of the higher Qualities Equipment could be enhanced.
Currently, Equipment could go from Level 0 to 50, and would gain + 1 to the main Attribute it enhanced each time it Leveled up. Secondary Attributes always started with half the amount of the main Attribute, and would gain + 1 every 2 Levels.
So, Iron Weapons would go from 20 to 70 and could enhance a secondary Attribute like AGI. The secondary Attribute would go from 10 to 35.
Bronze Weapons widened the gap with lower Qualities by going from 40 to 90 for a main Attribute. They also had 2 secondary Attributes which would go from 20 to 45. They also gained an Effect in the form of 1 Passive Skill or 1 Active Skill.
Silver Weapons also had 1 Effect. They went from 70 to 120 for their main Attribute, and 35 to 60 for their 2 Secondary Attributes. The main thing separating Silver Quality from the Bronze Quality was the Attributes gap.
It was a gap that could sometimes be made up by Levels, higher Attributes and skilled Players. Because of that, Bronze and Silver were the mainstays of Quality for Weapons for most Beta Players.
And finally, Gold Weapons. Only one had been found during the Beta. It had started out with +100 in its main Attribute, + 50 in its 2 secondary Attributes. A Level 50 Bronze Weapon's Attributes could not even compare with a Level 0 Gold Weapon Attributes. And not only did it breach the triple-digit barrier of Attributes, it also had 2 Skills in the form 1 Passive Skill and 1 Active Skill. Only Silver Weapons had enough Attributes to resist a Gold Weapon, at the cost of their Durability.
This last point was quite important: once an Equipment reached 0 Durability, it would be nothing more than scrap materials. Nothing would be reusable. No Blacksmith could reforge an Equipment with 0 Durability left.
And of course, Durability was different at every rank. Garbage Equipment had 10 Durability. Common Equipment doubled it to 20, while Iron Equipment jumped to 50. From there, Durability became much higher. And much more unfair.
Bronze Equipment had 100 Durability. Silver Equipment had 200. And Gold Equipment allegedly had a whopping 300 Durability.
But Players would not reach Gold Equipment. Actually, they would not be able to get even Silver Equipment until they reached Level 10. The highest Quality the Beginner's Town could offer was Bronze Equipment. And Jake possessed 2 pieces of it.
He grinned. Having good Equipment felt good. But he did not have enough Equipment yet. He still needed some Defensive Equipment, even if his Tracking Quest was going to give him some. Better be safe than sorry. He started walking back to the main streets of the Town, heading for the market.
