Dark artifact
(Write something like Xiaon showdown where there are tons of objects with different abilities. Like rings, necklaces, wristbands.)
Deep in the forest in Florida, A hiker came across a gold necklace laying half covered in a pile of leaves. He knelt down picking it up. It there is the faint light…
Gavin Hokoda sat at his computer studying for his upcoming test when an alert popped up: “Artifact found by coming found to have mysterious abilities” He quickly looked through the pictures of the necklace, studying it's symbols all over it. The teen began to find other stories about mysterious items that seemed to cause strange things to happen.
That's when he realized his best friend’s family had an item with similar symbols, it was a silver ring with a red gem in the center. He quickly called his friend Eric about the ring.
“well, I don’t know much about it why?”
“Are you allowed to take it out of it’s glass case?” Gavin questioned walking around in circles in his room upstairs.
“Yeah but only for a few minutes” Eric replied turning, looking at the glass case holding the artifact. Gavin told him he was gonna come over real quick. Luckily Eric was only a few houses down so it didn’t take long to get there.
Eric carefully showed him the ring, it had the same symbols like the necklace found by the hiker. Just then a loud slam came from the boy's front door. Eric dropped the ring, but Gavin managed to catch it on his middle finger. Before Eric could say anything the door swung open.
“Nobody move!” A may shouted waving a bat at them. Gavin looked at the ring then back at the criminal. “That ring, give it to me!” Suddenly the teen aimed his fist with the ring toward the assailant. A red light shot out of the ring’s gem lighting up the outline of the threat. Their ring’s gem went from red…to yellow…until finally green. Their target hit the carpet floor but instead of a 40 year-old man, there laid an elderly man. All his youth gone.
“Whoa, did you do that!?” Eric exclaimed.
“I-I think it was this ring…it absorbed all his youth like a battery”
“Well what do we do now?” Gavin thought for a moment then aimed it back at their target making a tight fist. This time a green light shined over him as he became younger until he was back to his old age. He got up running away in fear. Gavin smiled looking at the amazing item they had discovered… The dark-haired teen continued his research of all the artifacts that were either protected or hidden away from those who wished to find it.
Eric had told his parents that the robber had stolen it while his friend kept it. After a month or so, Gavin had found reports of strange occurrences happening just an hour away from their town.
(Could be another one…) he thought packing his laptop in his book bag, picking Eric up from his house. It took some convincing to let him come along since a burglar had just threatened him. But eventually they took off towards Tampa. Once there, the boy read about the location most problems were arising.
“This should be it” Gavin announced as they parked and got out of the car. Past the parking lot was just forest. They carefully made their way through stepping over logs and branches. After about 10 minutes of hiking they saw rocks floating around in circles. Eric slowly walked over grabbing one of them.
“I-I can feel some sort of force holding onto the rock, pulling me into it’s orbit!” Intrigued his friend walked past Eric moving dirt and large rocks out of the way. Suddenly the relic’s force became stronger almost causing Eric to lose his balance from holding onto a levitating rock.
“There it is” Gavin said to himself, pulling an arm bracelet out of the small hole. Once he made contact with it, all floating objects hit the ground. “Good work, we found another magical artifact”
“How many are there?” Eric asked as his friend put the bracelet on Eric’s wrist.
“A lot I would think” Gavin replied as they got back in the car, stopping at a fast-food restaurant to eat. While Gavin ate his chicken tenders, Eric practiced with the artifact by levitating a nugget above his hand. Moments later police quickly pulled up Gavin saw a server pointing at them while talking to an officer.
The teen motioned Eric that they had to leave now. They ran out an exit with two officers right behind them demanding they stop. As they pulled out onto the road Gavin aimed his ring toward them.
“I’m sorry about this” The ring lit up shining over the officer’s vehicle. In seconds it went from a new car to an old rusted one. Their vehicle spun out of control nearly missing a tree.
“Was that really necessary?” Eric responded driving down the road as fast as he could yet stopping at red lights to prevent a crash.
“Well it was either their car or them. Would you rather have me suck youth out of a person or object?” Eric sighed replying: “You’re right. Now where exactly are we going?”
“I guess to our next target, since more police will just be waiting at our house. Eric nodded his blonde hair blowing in the wind of the open car window…
MEANWWHILE…
Two men were dinging near a river in New York when they found a crown half buried by the constant currents. They quickly brought it to their lord that stayed in a mansion just outside the city.
“We found one my lord!” They said as one knelt down handing it to her. A dark grin appeared over her face.
“Finally, I knew one of them was nearby…The first of the denmaku is mine” At that moment the crown lit up with an outline of gold light matching it’s color. Her black hair turned white, along with her eyes changing from hazel to dark blue…
Back in Florida they stopped at a hotel so Eric could rest while his friend sat in a corner looking for clues to where their next target was. It had been about an hour when finally he read of a new artifact that had been put up in a museum. Again he made sure it had the magic symbol on it so they weren’t stealing something unless from a museum.
Alright I found our next artefact, only there’s a slight problem” Eric rolled over facing him.
“That would be…?”
“The item, which I found out is called a denmaku. Is in a museum in Georgia” Eric looked at him with an annoyed expression.
“Do you really expect me to steal from there!?” He responded. Gavin rolled his eyes before saying: “You don’t have to steal it…just cause a distraction so I can get to it”
“What about the cameras?” Gavin lifted up his hand showing him the ring…
Finally after a day of resting, they prepared to make their move. They parked a few streets down away from their target to keep their vehicle from being seen. Gavin aimed his ring toward a security camera causing it to fall apart and break from it’s support. He repeated until all cameras outside were offline.
“Keep watch outside” he told Eric before slowly opening a window. Eric took a deep breath watching, he wasn’t the stealing type. So doing something like this was just stressing him out.
Inside Gavin carefully made his way toward the artifacts room. He noticed a guard patrolling the hall. The teen managed to sneak up behind him. Placing his hand upon his shoulder, the guard went from 50 to 90 years old in seconds, his hair thinning and turning white, his face becoming more wrinkled and drooped. He let go as the aged man collapsed on the tiled floor.
Once inside the room he quickly located what they were after. It looked like a gold watch, nothing really unique-looking about it. He forced the glass case off causing an alarm to go off. Quickly the teen put on the watch…Suddenly it was quiet. He looked up at the light that had started flashing, it was frozen in time. He was shocked that such a powerful denmaku was just sitting in a museum.
Racing down the hall he aged the man back to normal then made it outside. He snapped his fingers in front of his friend but it had no effect.
“Umm…” Gavin put his hand on his friend’s shoulder snapping the boy out of the frozen time.
“W-what happened, how’d you get here so fast!?” Gavin explained that the item can manipulate time but unclear of the duration. They ran down the street getting into their car taking off once more. Once Gavin caught his breath the watch stopped glowing along with the spinning hands. Both watched as time continued as normal.
“Surprising things would work out so smoothly” Eric commented. Hokoda nodded resting his eyes from the rush…
1 YEAR LATER…
Both Gavin and Eric stayed at Mason’s house, a friend they had met just weeks ago, He had brown hair with blue eyes...
“How’s the search going?” Their friend asked walking over to them. Gavin shrugged looking away from his computer.
“I haven’t heard of anything strange happening. Or read of any clues to where the closest denmaku is located”
“What about checking the country they came from?”
“I’m sure I did…but I’ll check one more just to be sure” He typed in : “Denmaku Japan” Moments after scrolling through multiple pages, he found something called the “Concari temple” One that held relics and info of gods or deities.
“See, I knew you weren’t checking hard enough” their friend commented. Hokoda just rolled his eyes as they packed their stuff for Japan. It took a few weeks to get their passports and a flight…
They arrived in Kyoto, the part of Japan with temples and shrines. Took about two hours for them to reach the temple they were after, especially since their Japanese wasn’t that good. They found a sign that read: “ 伝間堂” (Denmaku Temple) The three teens made their way up the long flight of stairs. Finally they reached the entrance and was shown all of the relics and history of the gods. That’s when they stopped at one with the denmaku’s symbol.
“This deity was called: “Kamizu” He was considered one of the most omnipotent gods in existence” The tour guide continued on while Gavin stepped closer, starring at the statue of the god. Slowly he put his hand on the statue. Suddenly he fell back losing consciousness.
“Gavin!” Mason managed to catch him just before the teen could hit the tiled floor. They set him in a chair out in the hall while waiting for him to snap out of it…
Meanwhile Gavin found himself floating in a void of endless darkness when a figure manifested. Kamizu stood inn front of him, but was as big as a giant.
“Welcome Hokoda…I sense a connection you made when you touched the statue while wearing my tamashi” The boy looked at him confused.
“My apologies, forgot you’re not familiar with Japanese. It means part soul. As you and a few others have noticed, each of those items have different abilities”
“Yes, we’ve collected three of your pieces. A watch, bracelet and ring”
“Yes…the ring of youth, the watch of time and bracelet of force. Well done, to see you collect three so quickly even if there are tons out there. You must’ve really done your research. Be careful though…there are few who have pieces of me and are planning to use them for devious purposes”
Finally Gavin opened his eyes to find himself back outside the temple with Eric and Mason checking to make sure he was ok.
“What happened!?” His friend asked still concerned. Their friend told them about meeting Kamizu in a dark void.
“It must’ve been an out of body experience, which is why I fell into a coma-like state. But I’m fine now. However, we have a problem on our hands”
“What would that be?” Mason replied, brushing his dark-red hair out of his hazel eyes.
“Kamizu warned me that others have found pieces of their own, planning to use them for dark intentions” Both looked at each other then back at him.
“Then…we should hurry and go in case those guys decide to come here” Just as they proceeded to leave, Hokoda noticed a group of men in suits.
(They look nothing like security guards) He motioned his friends to hide their denmaku while their friend got closer. Gavin’s watch lit up in a golden light as a wave of gold light covered the entire area. He waited for everything to completely stop before getting any closer. The men’s suits all had the word: “CORTEX” written on the front left of their suits. As the boy planned to search the men’s pockets, he was knocked forward from behind. Looking up Gavin saw a women standing in front of him.
“Who are you?” She looked at him with a smirk growing across her face.
“My name is Sumi Tyogomi. I am the head of Cortex, and seeing that everything but us is frozen in time…it’s obvious you have a magical relic in your possession”
“How are you able to move around unaffected!?” The boy cried slowly getting back up. She laughed as she lowered the neck of her shirt revealing a necklace.
“With the necklace of shirudo, I’m able to move freely, as if your artifact wasn’t even active. This necklace makes me immune to any magical effect” Gavin ran past their guard, pushing off it to pick up speed before grabbing both his allies as the denmaku deactivated and time began to resume.
(He may be just a teen, but I feel as though the guy will be a great trouble) She told herself. As the men proceeded back to their car, the tires all fell off completely rusted.
“What the how did-” That’s when she realized her foe had touched their vehicle as they were escaping. Instead of being furious, a grin spread over her face. “Cleaver boy…”

They didn’t stop until they thought they were far enough. They stopped at a restaurant, it was mainly outside with a river view. They commented how nice it was as they sat down close to the wall with the river view.
“Welcome to Ainokawa, may I take your order” A tall dark-haired waiter asked. They hadn’t had time to look through the menu when Gavin replied: “I’ll take one of your most preferred dish”
“Ah, then you would like the tonkatsu, it’s similar to what you call chicken fried steak”
“We’ll each have that please” Hokoda handed him their menus as their waiter wrote the order down.
“Very good sir, my name is Akira so if you need anything just call” He nodded with a smile before their server walked off.
“We may’ve had a little trouble, but I really like this place” Gavin nodded with a smile as he watched the river flow past them into the large body of water just outside the room…
After about five minutes their food came. Their server set their food down commenting: “Enjoy your food, is there anything else I may do for you?” Mason handed him a 10-dollar bill.
“Here’s part of our tip for the fast service”
“Arigato” he replied heading back to the kitchen. They ate their food in no time, enjoying every bite until nothing was left.
“How was it?” Akira asked handing them the check.
“It was great!” Gavin answered grabbing the check. He paid it then put in an extra 10 dollars for the tip just as they got ready to leave.
“We appreciate your generous tip and will gladly give you a discount on your next visit” They smiled then left getting back in their car heading out again. Mason drove while Eric was in the passenger seat and Gavin laid in the back. As they were driving, on a high wave over the ocean, a man could be seen out in the distance.
“Be careful, there’s no doubt that’s an enemy after our current artifacts. Not sure how he would know we have them though” Hokoda commented. That’s when Mason could see a glow on the man’s forehead. “Watch out he has an artifact!” The boy shouted from the back seat. That’s when the wave nearly became the size of a tsunami.
They drove as fast as they could, but their vehicle wasn’t enough to outrun the large wave. The trio was sent through the streets by the powerful wave until the car went spiraling off-road down a large cliff. They were badly wounded and sat in the car surrounded by water at the bottom of the cliff.
After a little hesitation, they slowly got up and tried opening any doors of the car. However, the car was too damaged along with all the water surrounding it. So no matter how hard they tried none of the doors would open. Without any other option, Gavin smashed through the windshield of the car, climbing out along with the others. They made their way up the cliff hoping they could make their way back to the top.
Looking down they saw the water instantly turning to ice below them. As they made their way to the top they found the assailant that attacked them standing just a few feet away. Eric used the ability of the bracelet to force the man back. They were knocked off their feet landing on the ice. A faint crack could be heard as more cracks begin to form. While Mason waited at the top, Gavin used his watch to freeze time.
Placing his hand upon Eric’s shoulder, he was able to unfreeze his ally in the frozen time. “Hurry and combine a punch with your bracelet’s ability of force” The boy rushed over to the assailant clenching his fist as his artifact began to glow. Eric struck the unknown assailant with all his strength combined with the power of his artifact.
Once his friend had made contact, Hokoda deactivated his watch, causing time to resume. The unknown assailant slammed into the frozen lake. The trio watched as it began cracking apart. As their attacker fell into their own trap, they decided to continue on foot until they found a vehicle they could use. After an hour of walking they reached a small town called Kenyo.
While Hokoda got them a hotel room, Mason ordered them plane tickets back to the U.S. “Our flight is at 9:00 tomorrow” He told them as he slit his phone back in his pocket. As the sun went down, giving off a beautiful pink color. The trio laid in bed and one on the couch in the corner of the room. Gavin and Mason laid in their beds while Eric laid on the small red couch.
All three of them slept straight through the night until they awoke to the alarm they had set. “Alright, let’s hurry to our flight before something goes wrong” Gavin responded as they quickly packed all their stuff in and took a local bus. Hokoda had a bad feeling in his gut but decided to brush it off as his imagination. As they arrived at the airport, their bus suddenly went up in flames. Everyone aboard managed to escape the flames with minor burns and bruises.
“I-I knew I should’ve listened to my gut” Gavin commented. Eric was only able to stand on one leg while Mason. Was out cold. With my bracelet I was able to lower the injuries of all the passengers, but it looks like it was too much for Mason” As the citizens ran off in fear, a women wearing a black jump-suit with a red ring came into view.
“Well done, you managed to save the passengers while also protecting yourselves. Too bad your friend isn’t awake to witness it. She walked over to Mason’s unconscious body. “Tell me…how much does he really mean to both of you?” Both men watched as she put weight down on his ribs with her foot.
“Enough! Pick on someone that can defend themselves!” She turned her attention toward Gavin who stood ready for her next attack. “Very well” She replied in a soft tone. That’s when her palm was covered in blue flames. She leapt right for Hokoda when he managed to stop time just in time. Gavin looked over at his unconsciousness ally and decided to heal him.
Using the ring of youth, he aimed it in the directed of his assailant. She was just a few feet away from him, her fist blazing with flames. An orange ray of light shot from his ring as if skinning her. After a moment of going over her body with the light, the boy walked over to his fallen friend, aiming the ring toward him. This time a green light went over his body sevreal times before stopping.
As Gavin let time resume, the unknown women stood in her tracks for a moment, confused on what had happened before she fell to one knee. What's happening!?” She cried out, her hair going from black to gray, wrinkles appearing all over her aged body. “My-my youth...where has it gone?” She looked up from her old wrinkly body to see her target approaching her.
In an attempt to defend herself, she threw her hand out in his direction, but no flames came out. All she could make is small wisps of fire. “I knew this would happen. You should’ve realized the moment your body aged in such a short amount of time, your body wouldn’t have enough will power to use your artifact”
“Curse you” She cried out. With his enemy unable to fight back, he found her artifact which was an earring. “Hmm, not much for earrings, but with it’s kind of power I'll make an exception” He put on the gold crystal earring on his right ear before checking his phone...” Crap, we only have 15 minutes to get to our gate. If I use the watch we should be able to make it past everyone as long as I don’t accidently touch someone”
Mason managed to come to as they raced into the airport. Once they were near security Gavin once again unleashed the power of his artifact, stopping time for everyone in the airport. After getting past a few frozen citizens they reached the end of secretly. That’s when Hokoda accidently tripped and touched a guard’s shoulder. The female guard asked if he was alright before seeing all the people frozen in time. Quickly the young boy deactivated his ability right as she looked around.
Luckily, she brushed it off as her seeing things. All three of them all took a sigh of relief as they left security and made it to their gate with just 12 minutes to spare. “Good we made it” Gavin replied a little drained from using the watch. As they took off into the air, Eric looked out the window while Mason sat in between them. The flight crew announced that it would take 15 hours to get there. Gavin sighed leaning back in his chair.
“Come on Hokoda, we managed to tolerate it the first time. Just take deep breaths and try to distract yourself” Gavin rolled his eyes when he thought one of the crew members was wearing an artifact. He tried to look at it but they walkd too fast for him to see it clearly. (There better not be an enemy on this flight. I don’t have the patience and all these innocent riders could be in danger.
10 hours later...
Hokoda had finally put the possible threat in the back of his mind when One of the flight-attendants fell onto the walkway, motionless for a few seconds before getting back up. “Are you alright sir?” A women asked concerned. He assured her that he was fine and continued walking through the walk-way. One of the trio noticed the man’s eyes were much reder than an average person.
“He’s probably on something, you’re just being paranoid. Plus I don’t see anywhere he could be hiding an artifact, they need to be in contact with your body to activate. If it’s just in a pocket it won’t work” Just then a scream rang out as the plane began plummeting down toward the coast of Daytona beach. Screams echoed through-out the plane. (Screaming won’t make it any better) Gavin said to himself as he rushed through the crowded walk-way toward the cockpit.
All three of them saw in horror to see both pilots dead on the floor. Mason took control of the plane hoping to land just right not to cause any fatal damage. “I studied how to fly years ago, my uncle actually had an old plane he let me fly, but this is much more high-tech so it won’t be as simple” Skimming through all the rows of buttons he found the EMAS that were like Para-shoots that slowed a plane down.
Once he was just minutes from impacting, he flipped the switch. Three large Para shoot-like bags burst out, beginning to slow their descent along with Mason pulling the aircraft up nearly straight. Just in time to hit the beach, sliding across the sand in a large crater. Everyone was evacuated from the aircraft while the three men sat in the cockpit out of breath from such as stressful experience.
That’s when footsteps could be heard making their way towards them. All of them turned around to see a tall man with long brown hair that covered his right hazel eyes. “I see you three managed to survive my plane crash” Suddenly he grabbed Mason by his throat. “You don’t care about your friends, they’re not even true friends…let them go and come to me” All watched as the boy’s eyes turned red and his assailant let go of him.
“Yes, let us go” Mason replied in an emotionless tone. As his friend attempted to grab him, The foe pulled out a golden cane and tapped the bottom of it on the ground. An abrupt wave of forced cause the entire front of the plane to break off while sending the pair miles away. “Let us go” He responded once they were out of sight. Mason put his hand upon the man’s shoulder before they were transported in a ray of light…
Eric and Gavin awoke in a hospital, their bodies badly hurt. “H-how are you doing over there?” Hokoda asked struggling to get up from the bed, only able to turn his head over to his friend’s bed. “Not much better” Eric replied. They laid there for hours, unable to even sit up. “Well, we should at least be glad we survied such a far fall. Most normal humans would’ve died from the impact”
Meanwhile…
The man had transported them to a cavern beneath the desert. “Alright my friend, I’m going to show you just how strong a person can be come…when they’re infused with the relics I’ve gathered over these past few years” Mason was placed on a metal table where he was locked onto by his hands and feet. His controller melted down multiple relics until they were only gold liquid. Once they had cooled, they were injected inside the boy’s body using a syringe.
The super-natural energy with the items flowed through the youth’s bloodstream until his entire body was surging with it. He easily brook free from the restraints that kept him pinned to the metal table. “It worked!” The man cheered from his successful experiment. However, that’s when Mason’s eyes went from completely red to just the iris. “Yes, it has” The boy responded with an evil tone.
Once his captor looked at him in shock when he noticed his minion wasn’t fully under his control any longer. “Stop! You are under my control and do what I say!” Brushing his hair out of his face reveled a red crystal in the center of his forehead. As he struggled to take control over Mason, his captive slowly approached him, knocking him off his feet getting back-handed across the face, slamming into the walls of the cavern.
“You brat, don’t get ahead of yourself!” Grabbing his gold cane he slammed it down onto the rocky terrain, sending a powerful jolt of force in every direction. Though when it made contact with his target, it was as if an invisible force-field was protecting him. “Inconceivable! That was the full might of the staff of Kongaro”
“It seems my capabilities far exceed your expectations. Now unless you want to be killed on the spot, I suggest you hand over those relics to me before your life comes to a miserable halt” As the man began to defy once more, Mason vanished for a split moment…His foe felt an excruciating level of pain in his chest. Looking down he saw a blood-covered hand sticking out of his chest.
“Y-you won’t get away with this. There’s many more out there with relics that have the power to stop or even kill you” With that Mason pulled his hand from his target’s body. Watching as they hit the ground dead. The cave was beginning to cave-in on itself. Luckily with the staff of Kongaro, the enhanced warrior managed to transport himself out of the cave to a dessalent forest, away from most life to think. He was free from his captor’s brainwash, but had dark thoughts still surging through his mind that he knew wasn’t his normal thoughts. That’s when he fell unconscious…After some time he found himself in a black void. He didn’t know where he was at first when suddenly two versions came out from the darkness.
One was his normal self, while the other looked like an evil version. It had pale skin with red eyes. Both stared at him for a moment before he replied: What do you want?”
“We are the two parts of your mind” The normal one replied. “I am the normal and good side of you.
“While I am the dark and evil thoughts that your assailant forced into your head with his artifact to cloud your judgment and follow his command! We must show them all that we’re not some weakling, we have power now, power that even exceeds all of Hokoda’s relics”
“No! Remember, you wanted to find the relics, but not to kill, to help those that deserve it”
“Shut up! He must kill all those that stand in the way of his happiness!” Coming to, Mason could feel the thoughts rushing through his head as if all the talking was is own thoughts. “Enough! I don’t need your rambling clouding my thoughts. This is my power, I don’t need you corrupting it” Clutching his fists tightly, Mason began to release a vast amount of power, hoping to extinguish the corrupt part of him. Everything around him shook as he focused his abilities to overwhelm his body. “I may not be aware of what all my powers are, but with enough power, I should rid my body of you”
Sweat ran down his face as he continued to focus his power. That’s when a dark mist floated from his body over a few feet before taking shape. In a look of shock, Mason saw him looking at a dark version of himself. He had blue hair with gold eyes. “You look like me if I randomly changed my look” He commented as if acting confident.
“Joke as much as you want, I have all your abilities with a ruthless attitude to back up my goal of killing you” Without another word the imitation took off at full speed from the start. His attacker struck him with a powerful blow to the gut. Mason let out a gag from the sudden loss of air.
Meanwhile…
Hokoda and Eric were finally well enough to get out of bed with just a little soreness and bruises. “We need to find Mason” Eric commented as they both sat in bed. “How would we do that? I’m sure they’re both far away or at least hiding somewhere by now. Best we can do is carry on our search and hope he comes to us”
Back In The Forest…
Both fighters traded blows as their fists impacted one another’s, shaking the entire forest. Shockwaves of force shook the area when Mason was punched across the face, getting sent flying through the forest, smashing into a large oak in the center of the forest. “Damn it, how is he so strong?” Wiping the blood from his mouth he found it hard to stand. “If this keeps up I might die. I have to think of a strategy. But it’s gonna be difficult when the only powers I’m aware of is super-strength and sonic speed. I’ll either have to wait until he revels another, or focus my energy until I use another ability”
That’s when his doppelganger came flying through the air before hovering above him just a few feet away. “You might as well submit, you’re not strong enough to beat me. I have an idea, why not merge with me? With both of us as one instead of as a faint consciousness we’d be unstoppable”
“Go to hell” The warrior responded still in pain but managing to stand properly. A smirk spread across the being’s face. “Very well, allow me to take you with me” Just as the villain prepared an attack, a wall of flames shielded Mason. Looking past the oak tree he saw Gavin and Eric rushing to his side.
“What are you both doing here and how did you find me?”
“It really wasn’t that hard, some people were posting online about strange shockwaves coming from a nearby forest and we thought they’d probably be coming from you or your kidnapper” Hokoda replied. “Sounds like you aren’t being controlled any longer” Eric commented.
“I’m ok, just need to deal with this imposter” Mason said turning his attention back to his dark-self. Clapping his palms together, Gavin sealed the fake within a sphere of flames. As his powered-up ally ascended up to punch the blazing sphere out into space, the orb evaporated into small wisps of light. Mason was shocked as his opposite caught his fist with one hand.
“You’re so gullible” He twisted the hero’s arm before throwing him back to his friends. “You three are pathetic. Either your relics are weak, or you don’t know how to use them. I’m done with this pointless game…With this last ability I have left, it’s more than enough to deal with your friends”
“No don’t!” Mason cried out. Aiming his index finger toward the two warriors, he fired to purple beams in their directions. The boy watched in horror as both projectiles hit them head-on. Gavin and Eric began to turn to stone. I’m sorry they said until they were statues of themselves.
Tears filled his eyes as he was engulfed in feelings of rage and sorrow. A white aura swarmed around his body as he faced his opponent. “You’ll-you’ll pay for this!!” His eyes changed to red as he soared into the air at great speed. As his foe put his guard up, Mason struck the villain’s left arm with such strength it caused it to shatter their entire arm bone.
“You little shit! I’ll turn you to stone as well!” The assailant fired multiple beams right for the warrior, but it had no effect. “No, that can’t be! I just missed!” He told himself as he fired a barrage of lasers that hit him head on with still no effect.
“Now do you see? Your ability has no effect on me. That’s when the hero aimed his finger right back at his attacker. Focusing his power, Mason fired a beam directed right for his double’s face. He watched as his enemy turned to stone as well. The boy walked up to the statue. “This is the end” With a chop to the statue’s neck, the entire thing shattered to pieces into the dirt.
The boy took his friends stone bodies back to his house where he placed them in a large empty room. “Don’t worry…I will find a way to reverse this curse I’ve put upon you both” He placed a steel stand under both of them that read:
