Hey guys. CatVI here. Sorry to necro this old version of DotW. I have an announcement I'm really excited to share with you all. I'm back with another fresh Xianxia Story!
It's called Data-Driven Daoist, and it's currently Rank 9 on the Rising Stars list (woohoo)!
As an apology for bothering you, first I'd like to thank you. I have a gift for my special readers. On [Chapter 13 - Simulation] of Data-Driven Daoist, in the [A Note from CatVI] section which is the post chapter author's note, there's a special link below the "Can't wait for more?" Patreon banner. The link looks like a golden ଲ(ⓛ ω ⓛ)ଲ. Yep, it's a cat kaomoji. Don't worry, it's a clickable link and after doing so, you will be gifted 1 month membership to the Data-Driven Daoist Patreon (which is 15 chapters ahead). If you want the gift, get there early because they're limited. Also, I want to be absolutely clear that you don't have to do anything to redeem this gift (no need to follow, rate, or review). This is purely a gift from me, a budding author, to you, my oldest readers. Oh, and if you didn't get to redeem it this time, don't worry. I'll do this kind of gift-giving in the future too!
Now onto Data-Driven Daoist.
It's a combination of Xianxia with LitRPG mechanics, so alongside heaven-defying martial arts, there should be plenty of numbers to crunch (maybe not at Delve level though, haha). It will be a progression fantasy, with more emphasis put on action, adventure, and the main character going from weak to strong.
I wanted to wait till we had some wins before bothering you. Yesterday it made the top 10 on RS, so I had to share it! (Maybe some of you are already reading it?). A lot of passion went to this story while DotW is being dev-edited and re-revamped. I got a lot of new readers already, but you know what? I miss my old crowd. TFTC gang and essay commenters who'd keep me up at night.
Here’s the basic premise:
> Transmigrated into a ruthless Xianxia world as a recently orphaned fatty, an anti-social Computer Scientist must leverage his tech skills to survive despite his trash cultivation talent.

> The genuine version of this novel can be found on another site. Support the author by reading it there.
I'll share the full blurb below too (with the fiction link):
Data-Driven Daoist (Link) - Xianxia LitRPG Progression
Description:
They called him trash—until he started treating the Dao like a Dataset.
When demons slaughter his new family, computer scientist Johan—now reborn as Yu Han—survives by pure wit. He gains access to the mysterious system that all cultivators use to defy the heavens.
The Dao.
But it won’t be enough. Betrayed, stripped of everything but his clothes and a worthless booklet, his only way to live is to join the prestigious immortal sect recruiting new disciples. But before he can even step into the sect, he slaps the faces of two powerful young masters.
Yu Han should have no path forward.
But in his past life, he wasn't just any programmer—he was a corporate warfare consultant who wrote not only code but obituaries, treating business rivals like lines of bad code to be mercilessly eliminated.
Trash talent? He'll code his own. Death feuds with young masters? Mere bugs to debug. No money? Just another optimisation problem. Watch this blood-thirsty fatty sprint toward immortality, bringing algorithms to sword fights and treating cultivation like a hostile takeover!
First though, he needs to lose some weight.
----------------------------------------
What to expect:
- Weak to Strong. Poor to Rich. Fat to Fit!
- Earned progression through blood, sweat, grit, and lots of devious planning.
- Xianxia with a LitRPG twist. All cultivators have access to the system. It isn't the MC's unique cheat.
- No Harem (Obviously, it's me we're talking about, so definitely some Romance!)
- 3rd Person POV, with a 99% MC focus

I'd be stoked if you could follow it. I want to know how my writing skills have improved (or got worse) over the years. And the best people to share that feedback with me are you guys.
Don't worry if you miss out this time. Expect more gift-giving like this from me in the future. Hope you all have a nice rest of the week(-end).
