The locks on the car doors slammed showing only the tips, like nubs on severed limbs.

My eyes remained there, and then rose to watch the raindrops slide down the window, which seemed to be crying for my release.

Inside of the car was complete silence.

All that could be heard was the sound of the rain dancing on the hood, and the murmurs of my heart. 

When I heard the click of his seat belt unfastening, I wished I could disappear into the cushions of the Mercedes leather seats. 

The seats squeaked as he slid over. I could feel the presence of his strong muscular arms as his hand found my neck and his lips pressed against my ear as he whispered, 

        "You shouldn't have said that."
