Chapter 1 - Glory Road

The four went to inside the computer shop. Finn went to the counter.

“Boss is there any vacant for four?” Finn said to the man near the counter with a little polite tone.

“Oh if it isn’t our Finn the Glory Road addict, How are ya doin’ these days?” The boss replied with a goofy voice.

“Good, It seems that my favorite computer shop has expanded” Finn said while looking at the new part of the computer shop.

“Yeah, it took some real time before we finally convinced the neighbor to sell a part of his to me” The boss replied with a proud high voice.

“That’s great Boss! So back to the question , is there any vacant for four right now?” Finn said.

“Well there’s currently a vacant for two right now but there’s two that’ll times end at….” The boss paused to look at the computer beside him.

“Exactly 5 minutes away from now.” The boss continued.

“Then reserve those 4 for me please.” Finn replied with a pleading face.

“Sure thing but remember to come back at the time those two times up.” The boss said.

“Don’t worry Boss, I’ll just call the people that’s with me and wait here.” Finn replied with a smile and started to walk towards the front door of the computer shop.

“Guys, there’s currently 2 vacant and I already reserved us the next two that’ll times up in 5 minutes away from now. So who wanna go first?” Finn question the three.

“Wait I have an idea, why not let Joseph and Enzo go first then I’ll wait together with you, it’s only 5 minutes isn’t it?” Celestia suggested.

“So is it fine to you two?” Finn looked at Joseph and Enzo.

“We should be the one that question you cause it’s on our favor rather than yours.” Joseph replied.

“It’s totally fine to me since I’ll have some time to explain to Celestia the Glory Road and you two would find it boring” Finn explained.

“Well then it’s decided, We shall go play first and don’t worry dude, we’ll just look around the auction to look for equipment” Enzo replied with a wide grin and mischievous face.

“That face is the one that I can’t trust the most” Finn replied with a suspicious voice.

“Come on bro! Trust us sometimes too” Joseph added with a grin can be seen on his face.

“Yeah yeah, just don’t do something stupid ingame” Finn replied with annoyed tone.

“Sure thing Finn” Enzo and Joseph said while walking towards the vacant computers on their left side.

‘Haah, those two are definitely up to something’ Finn thought on the two and walk towards where Celestia is standing.

“Sorry to keep you waiting” Finn said with apologetic face

“It’s totally okay Finn, it’s not like you’ve went away for like a year.” Celestia replied with a chuckle and innocent smile can be seen on her face while facing Finn.

“Alright. Then let me show you what makes Glory Road unique and popular among the most MMORPG’s.” Finn said with a proud tone.

“You see that game? That’s Glory Road, it’s on a first person view which makes it totally different than most of the MMORPG you see everyday and to make it more interesting, The graphics of the game is Superb and even the low-end laptops can afford to play it smoothly and that arouse questions on the other game company on how they did

that” Finn explained carefully and fully detailed while pointing at a computer screen of some random guy.

“And one also thing that makes Glory Road an odd ball in terms of MMORPG genre is that you don’t actually have a specific class. When you joined the game, You’ll have to choose a 10 skills in a thousand of them that you think that fits to your playing style. And you can’t just easily change those 10 skills, you’ll have to find a ‘Dragon’s Heart’ which can only be get on world boss raids” Finn continued to explain.

“It must’ve been hard for you to understand all of them but you’ll get it once you played the game itself” Finn said with a beaming smile.

“Oh ok, but I have a question Finn. What are those card that other people takes out?” Celestia asked

“Oh god, I completely forgot about the game card!, Those card are the one that you need to use to access the game to use those, you’ll just have to slide them on the side of the computer” Finn replied while pointing at the sliding

machine.

“Then where do we buy those cards.” Celestia asked again.

“You can buy them on some big computer shop. Such as this.” Finn replied while walking towards to the counter.

“Boss, do you have any unused Glory Cards.” Finn asked to the guy who is in the counter.

“Oh it’s you again Finn, well yeah I still have one left in here and as usual it cost 120 pesos but for you Finn my boy,

I’ll just sell them to you for 85 pesos.”The boss replied with a carefree attitude.

“Thanks for the discount Boss, I’ll take one for my friend.” Finn said while pointing at Celestia at the back.

“Nice ‘friend’ you have there Finn” The boss replied with a sarcastic voice.

“Thanks” Finn said with a total ignorance on The boss joke.

“Then just tell her to come over here and press her finger on the card, Don’t forget the payment Finn” The boss replied as Finn walk towards to the Celestia and came back to the counter along with her.

Finn guided her thumb to the corner of the card and it sends a small electricity into Celestia’s fingers which cause it to be numb for a few seconds.

“There you go, It’s done” Finn said with a casual smile.

“Finn, why does my card’s color is white?” Celestia asked.

“Well Glory Road’s card is unique because the card can be used to determine the persons level and ranking, The card color starts from white then yellow, orange, green, blue, red, gold, black, then black gold. And the pro players who’s participating on world championship have their own card design depends on the team design.” Finn explained and paused for a few seconds.

“You can also see the person’s name in-game and their guild name below it with its symbol. The Glory Road’s card security is also no joke, You have to put your finger in the corner of the card after sliding it in for it to gain access to the game so even if you lost it or someone snatch it from you, It’s just gonna be some useless card” Finn continued.

“Wow… That’s amazing! No wonder it’s so expensive cause the card has unique features and a very tight security system which is very great thing for players and the cost of the card is totally worth it!” Celestia praised the Glory Road card.

“Yeah that’s why it’s the most popular game on the whole world, and their server is fast enough for everyone on the whole world to connect in the game with no problems with lag.” Finn replied then suddenly a voice came from their back said.

“Hey Finn, there’s two vacant now” The boss called them from the counter.

“Thanks Boss, I’ll pay for both of the pc rent together with the card” Finn replied as he guided Celestia into her seat.

“Now slide the card in here and leave it there and only take it after you finished playing for it to update the color of the card.” Finn explained to Celestia as she slides the card into the machine.

“There will be a guide for new players like you in the Glory Road. Just follow the instruction and if there’s anything that you don’t understand, call me since I’m just right beside you.”Finn said.

“Okay” Celestia replied as she put the headphone into her head.

Finn did the same and slides his card into the machine and wears the headphones into his head. Unbeknownst to Celestia that Finn’s cards color is Black gold and currently holding the Top 1 title in terms of character ranking and currently the Guild master of the Strongest guild: Light.

As the loading screen appeared in the screen, Finn is on a deep thought.

‘Sigh, all those pro players is sending many invitation again in my e-mail since it’s the start of the world championship this year, Sigh I hate this time of the year.’ Finn thought to himself.

'Welcome to the Glory Road, where anyone have a chance to at the top of the world and own their own empire’ The title of the game appeared in the screen and proceed into the character selection.

Finn pressed his one and only character: Xavier, The loading screen appeared again with a beautiful scene as its background. After the loading disappear, A stunning hall appeared in the screen with a line of soldier on the side of the majestic carpet.

“Guild Master!” All of the soldiers yell at the same time.

Finn can hear it since the game has implemented a voice chat system which allowed the players to talk to each other by pressing one button.

“Flowing Water, what’s the guilds today report?” Xavier said to the player that was beside him.

“Nothing special Guild Master.” Flowing water said with very polite tone

“I see, Thanks for handling the guild affairs when I was away!.” Xavier replied while looking at his inventory.

‘Wait what is this? A letter? Weird cause never in my whole gaming time that I encounter a letter with purple aura around it, I know there’s a green aura but that’s only used by the kings’ Finn thought after seeing the letter in his inventory.

’Oh well I just hope it won’t be bad’ Finn thought wishing it won’t be bad.Finn decided to open the letter and pressed the right click on the mouse, A light has enveloped his whole body, and Celestia was the first one to notice it and immediately hugged Finn and they were now both completely enveloped in light and their body has disappear from the earth and the light went inside the monitor along with their game card.

It was too late for anyone in the computer shop to notice the light that envelope the two and it disappear silently.

Not even Joseph nor Enzo noticed the two disappear as they was too busy playing Glory Road, completely unaware on what’s happening on their surroundings.

I was actually thinking on putting this note on the very top but decided to put it in here since it would ruin the moment of reading :3

Btw I was using my country's currency. It's basically 1$ = 46.73 pesos. And 85 is already kinda big as a students daily allowance..
