Prologue

"Quingyun. A world mysterious as it is old. Rich to the brim with life and wonder, fueled by the essence of existence itself, Qi, it is a vibrant and lush world."

"Qi is the essence of existence and life. The fuel that keeps everything going. It's present everywhere, the air, the land, the oceans, even within ourselves. Certain people can harness this Qi to do wonderful miracles and gain superhuman powers. These people are called Cultivators."

"Hundreds of different parts and paths of cultivation exist, but they all have one goal. To attain immortality."

"To obtain immortality, cultivators got together to form sects. Places where cultivators could trust eachother, learn and advance together."

"The greatest of these sects, the top of the 4 great immortal sects, is the Eternal Skyfire Sect, housing the three of the strongest cultivators alive."

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

"The third strongest, named Galr. The jade emperor. The golden dragon. His strength nearly unparalleled under the heavens, a man without much talent, who rose to new heights and defied the heavens."

"The second strongest named Xiaolong. The honoured one. The Holy Father. He is a man of peculiar tastes. Unorthodox from the regular Cultivator. It's said that he visited the western lands long ago, and his behavior and mannerisms changed accordingly. He and Galr are old friends and rivals."

"And finally, their sect master. No one knows much about him, no one knows his name either. All that is known is that...that man is on a league of his own."

"Other notable cultivators also exist. The Rat Venerable. One of the most successful and powerful cultivators to ever live. The sage of the Five Flavours. An unassuming man with terrific strength. And the Yellow Emperor."

A voice that belonged to a woman said to her young son that couldn't be any older than 12. The boy looked at his mother, his yellow eyes sparkling with amazement.

"I wanna be just like them!"

He said excitedly. The mother chuckled a little.

"I'm sure you will son. I'm sure you will."

She said.

"Remember. Innate talent isn't everything. Look at lord Galr. He didn't have much talent yet still persevered and has nearly reached the pinnacle. Even if you fail at the upcoming aptitude test, remember to give it your all."

She encouraged. The boy nodded.

"Alright. Good luck Xuan Wok. Remember, I will always be watching over you."

She said with a motherly and tender smile. This was the story of Xuan Wok. A boy on his quest to achieve immortality.
