“HA! HA! HA!” (´∀`)ʱªʱªʱª
(☞ ͡ಥuಥ)☞ “Are you serious?!” (๑òᗜó)
This time even the ‘serious’ Rock couldn’t hold in his laughter. Maggie, Kaori and Sky became red from embarrassment, as the crowd laughed.
Malina king was sought after by everybody from the younger generation, even those in their late 40’s would seek her for advice. Even her husband, the patriarch of the great Martial clan couldn’t muster such hysterical behavior among the younger generation. And Damon wanted to be her disciple?
Let’s forget that no one ever takes disciples, more than 2-3 cultivation realms below them and even if they did, it was either because the disciple was related by blood or was incredibly talented. In fact, even Maggie doesn’t receive anything more than the occupational ‘tips’ regarding cultivation. Rock stood there with a disdainful smile touching upon his lips.
‘I tried so many times myself. But it’s a pity, Aunt is always busy. But…..a trash with Lower insect talent, common veins layout and ZERO unblocked meridians dares to have ambitions, same as me!? Who does he think he is?! Enough of this outsider! I’ll make an example out of him and his resource sucking, waste of air, little sister.’
A voice drifted across the hall, oozing with every bit of authority.
“I accept.”
Silence reigned suddenly across the hall as soon as they heard Malina. Everyone stared dumbly and even Maggie gaped at her mother-half expecting Malina king to giggle and exclaim April fools! Even though it was November.
Malina King smiled as she addressed Damon, “I’ll accept you as my first disciple. Maggie, bring him to his sister. We’ll continue this afterword. Everyone back to your work. Remember we have the hunt coming in 20 days.”
With that, Malina King left with Brinham king. Rock looked extremely disturbed. As if the rug has been pulled from under his feet. Damon smiled at Rock’s distraught expression, choosing to forgive him for his earlier hostility. A stray wind picked up as it ruffled his hair.
‘What the? Why do I feel so full, all of a sudden? And the air feels different….feels more welcoming, as if they’re happy to be in my presence.’
After everyone left, Maggie came to Damon, “What did you do yesterday? My mother must have talked to you before! Was that earthquake early morning, somehow related to you?”
“Good to see you too, kitten. (Grins) Actually, your mother did ask me about something, yesterday. But she made me promise to keep it a secret.” Damon made a ‘difficult’ face.
Maggie drew near as she whispers, “What? What was it? Tell me, I won’t tell anyone.”
Damon stepped close to her ear. The fragrance from Maggie’s freshly shampooed hair, almost made him close his eyes in appreciation. He cleared his throat as he whispered, “Your mother asked me, if I was willing to accept you as my fiancée.”
Maggie, who too had her eyes closed, jerked backward; glaring at Damon.
“What!?”
Damon sighed, “Yes, and she can be so persuasive, that after a lot of back and forth. I finally acquiesced.”
“You! You-”
“I didn’t have a choice, Maggie! You know your mother! She always gets what she wan—Alright alright! Don’t run. I’ll tell you the truth after I see my sister.”
Maggie humped and made her way to the infirmary. Damon followed after her, teasing her along the way.
‘I’m sorry, Maggie, teasing you is the only way I can distract myself from worrying about my sister.’
They made their way through a glass wall hallway. Early morning sunlight filtered in through the glass throwing their hazy shadows onto the white tiled floor. They arrived in front of a glass lite door. Damon peeped in to look at his sister laid in a horizontal glass capsule.
‘If I didn’t know any better, I’d say she’s just taking a nap. (Grits his teeth) A 10 yr. old shouldn’t have to go through this nightmare.”
Maggie’s eyes were naturally drawn to the cute little girl, laid softly on the white bedding. She let her gaze roam gently on the little child. With jet black hair and the same cute, curvy ears, it was apparent to Maggie that this little one was Damon’s blood sister.
“Are you always this annoying? Gosh! I can’t ever imagine being your little sister.”
When Maggie realized Damon had become unresponsive; His gaze fixed on the toddler. She left him alone in the room to give him space.

‘I promise, I’ll break those kidnappers with my own hands and bring their heads to you!’
Damon clasped Kate’s tiny hand with his 2 large ones. Her hand felt a little cold.
“I brought you a snow white bunny for your 10th birthday, Kate. A cute black-eyed fluffy little thing, you would have absolutely adored him. He’s small and energetic….just like you Kate! So….Wake up! Please just wake up!”
The old turtle walked on air. His eyes lit up when he saw Kate, but gradually a deep frown began to invade his forehead.
“You should wake her immediately. If you want her to live.”
“What!? What’s wrong? She’s supposed to be in coma. How is her life in danger?”
“Trust me, Damon! this is serious. Draw blood from your fingers and recite the spell I’m about to teach you.”
Damon hesitated; this was his sister! He didn’t want to risk anything; God knows he’s already harmed her with his immature actions.
The old turtle shouted. “Now Damon! If you don’t do something to her now, God will take her from you!”
Damon gritted his teeth and bit his thumb. Drawing blood, he followed the old turtle’s instructions as he drew symbols on his sister’s face.
Kate jerked with her eyes wide open her heart beat thunderously in her tiny rib cage. Threatening to break out of her chest.
That’s when she smelled it.
A primal thirst took control of her body, as she glared possessively on the bright red on top of Damon’s thumb and before she knew it, she dipped one of her teeth into the open wound, drawing deep. Kate almost moaned with joy this was delicious! How could no one tell her something this tasty existed?!
“Kate! AHH!”
Damon somehow used strength from his Qi refining cultivation realm, to push Kate back.
“Don’t stop her. Let her drink your blood.”
“What?—”
Kate pounced with renewed strength, this time she managed to bite into Damon’s wrist. Drawing so deeply that Damon could see stars in bright daylight. After sometime Kate separated, closing her eyes as she fell to sleep immediately.
As for Damon, the damage was done. He fell to the floor with a bang and stayed there. The last thing, he saw was the old turtle staring at him, his eyes glowing with curiosity.
The Martial clan. Martial province. Day 2.
The November sun was shining brightly, radiating the city of Martial clan with its heat.
A strong beam of sunlight woke Damon up slowly in a big bedroom. Damon was sweating heavily, because of the strange nightmare he had.
A cursory glance around the room, revealed his sister, sleeping lightly tucked, in an adjacent bed. Away from the sunlight, the little doll slept like an angel. Damon woke up quickly and went to check on his little sister.
“My silver eyed sloth, finally awake?”
“Why did my little sister wake from a coma and drink my blood? Was it the spell you taught me? You turned her?!”
“Funny lad! If a clumsy spell from a 14-year-old can raise vampires, then this world would be ruled by blood sucking vampires. No, what I taught you was a simple spell to raise her from the coma, although this was dangerous, A newly turned vampire without blood would be dead within days.”
“So, its true? She really is one? But I don’t understand. How? And why is she..free? Aren’t vampires considered enemies?”
“So many questions my innocent disciple and yet I suspect you know the answers already.”
“The assailants? the ones who tried to kidnap her? And…my blood stopped her from transforming into a vampire?”
“Yes, the vampires were your assailants, yes, your blood. But! You can’t stop the turning process no one can. But your blood did alter her. Granted, she’s not a dead being with no heart and large blood sucking teeth, with fear of sunlight. But she is different, she will need blood but she can sustain herself on other food sources.”
“Can she cultivate?”
“Yes, but although, I think you would have to help her in that, I’m afraid. She was a vampire already when she came to this world and so, no guide was assigned to her.”
A servant came in with a trolley holding breakfast. A large glass jar of Juice, breads, eggs and other delicious food furnished the silver trolley.
“Madam Malina king expects you to pay her a visit after your breakfast, human.” Said the servant with simple grace although she didn’t bother to hide the disdain she had for Damon.
“Thank you for the food. Yes, I’ll meet my cultivation master after my breakfast.”
The servant slightly narrowed her eyes but said nothing as she turned away and closed the door behind her.
“Human? I wish I was one. (frowns) Did they forget about my silver eyes and the light on my head?”
The old turtle was floating around the trolley looking at all the food wistfully.
“Yes, I suppose they did. Damon, you know how guides are only assigned to humans when they start cultivating? and no one else? Did you ever wonder why you’d receive me?”
Damon wondered out loud, “Yes! That’s right. Why would I get you? …unless this Silver power has a way to hide itself from the world?”
“HA! HA! Yes! My genius disciple! In fact, us guides know about every natural living being to ever roam this land. But you! I have absolutely no clue! Yesterday I found that your blood which contains trace amount of that silver power actually has the ability to not only stop a vampire’s transformation into an undead immortal being but also alter the victim to host the silver power!”
Damon glanced at the sleeping beauty, “Does this mean she has the Silver power too?”
“Nope not exactly. You see, your sister is a vampire but she is also something else. The exact extent of her silver power remains to be seen.”
“So? What does this silver power do? Can I have a berserk ability? or is it another panty grabbing and butt pinching ability?”
“HA! this minor is a wisecrack now. From what I’ve seen, the silver power makes you look like an angel and grants the ability to host the silver power into your victim. That’s all it does. But do you know, I’ve already classified the Silver power as highly dangerous?”
Damon looked out the window, “Just the fact that it has the ability to stop vampire transformation; means if word got out. I’ll be strapped to a hospital bed and be experimented on by curious scientists?”
The old turtle stared at Damon’s adolescent shoulders.
*Sighs*
“If only, it was ever that simple… No. I suspect that this silver power has the ability to influence reality”
