I rushed out of the hallway, the sound of other bots screaming for me to stop filled my audio receptors. It's not like I want to be in this situation, I’m just a poor mercenary with no other means of getting money. I took a sharp left to the next corridor, a lot of bots stood in front of me holding blasters in their hands, I gulped the oil that filled my mouth and reached into my back pocket. “Stand still and show us your hands.” The one in the front ordered, he was wearing a different badge on his shoulder from the rest, I assume he was at least at general status. What I stole was so serious that they had to call the general!?? I slowly pulled the flash bang out of my pocket and turned off my audio receptors and automatically lowered my visors. I threw the flash bang and watched as the bots shot at it out of panic, I felt a smile creep its way up my mouth. I watch chaos unfold before my eyes. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to enjoy this and had to leave before the effect ran out.
I ran forward positioning my body closer to the floor to avoid getting knocked over by the disoriented guards. I managed to pick up a blaster and held it close to myself. I turned back on my audio receptor to pay attention to my surroundings while I examined the weapon. Wait, this isn’t a blaster! This is a gun, they were seriously planning on killing me, what the hell did I get myself into. I clutched the gun closer to me, now scared. I really shouldn’t have become a mercenary, ugh, I should have been a mechanic. Crocodile tears ran down my eyes. My theatrics were cut short as I was nearing the window. I threw a knife with a diamond blade at the window, and jumped. The minute the blade touched the window my foot connected with the handle and it shattered the basically indestructible glass. I fell and dove towards my knife. “Gotcha.”
The fall downwards was long, I did fall from the tenth floor of the fortress after all. The ground was covered in freshly fallen snow so I prayed it lessened the blow of this fall. “Oof,” I let out as I finally reached the ground. “That was higher than I expected.” I mumbled looking at the window I fell from. I reached inside my backpack and looked at the item I stole. “This has to be something dangerous.” I mumbled, staring at the orb in my hand. Dangerous or not, I would do anything to end this long drawn out war. My hinges started to creak from this cold. Gosh, my exoskeleton wasn’t made for this. I trudged towards the rendezvous point. There I saw a small armoured van hidden in the snow.
I knocked on the van a few times and heard the sound of panic. Out came a young Android. “Hurry up, open the damn door, it’s freezing outside.” I grinned at the nervous bot. “Did you get it?” he asked, stepping to the side. I hung up my jacket and placed my backpack on the desk. I reached inside and put the orb behind my back when the young android wasn’t looking, “Why don’t you see for yourself.” his eyes flashed yellow in excitement, and looked inside the backpack. Just as quickly as his excitement came it disappeared. I laughed at his sullen face and revealed the orb, “hey that’s not funny, I have you know that it’s wrong to pick on your senior.”

“I’m not a part of this faction, remember.”
“Oh yeah, b-but still.”
I flopped in the passenger seat and kicked my feet up on the dashboard. This is going to be a long ride, better get comfortable. “Hey kid, you better start driving, don’t want to get caught by the bots of Bok.”
“Y-yes Sir.” the android stuttered before stumbling to the driver's seat. Didn’t he say he was my senior?
“Anyways, I have some stuff I need to complain about with YOUR seniors, and my employer.” I said between gritted teeth. I tried my hardest not to complain about the lack of information about my job to the young bot. It just doesn’t make sense, what could this orb possibly be. I thought as I watched the android place it in his chest compartment. I sat back and turned off my visual receptors and listened to the sound of the car engine. The hum of the car was relaxing and the constant sound was a striking contrast from my busy life of running around and flip flopping between the five factions. If I knew the importance of the object I stole and how dangerous this mission would be I probably wouldn’t have agreed on taking this job, I am a coward after all.
“Hey kid, what's your name?” I asked, never looking towards him.
“Huh, it’s Tungsten, Tungsten Impact, but I thought you knew this already Mr. Mercenary.”
“Well young Tungsten, I probably forgot because of how forgettable you are.”
“That’s not very nice.” I heard him mumble, I only laughed in return. “You know kid, I was going to ask this when I reach the sun fortress in the frontlines, but what’s this orb supposed to be?” I turned on my optics and looked at him. He answered not taking his eyes off the snow covered ground. “It’s the orb of Mae obviously, we’re planning on weaponizing it.” I nearly choked on my oil and fell out of my seat. “The Orb Of Mae, Why Is That Here. No Why Was That There. No Wait, What Are You Trying To Do With It.” The orb of Mae, the rumored source of all techno’s life, if this ends up in the wrong hands we’re done for. I only heard of this in legends, but turns out I was running around with this. “ Relax, that’s the reason why we took the orb. My faction is trying to save everyone from the weapons the people of Bok were making.” he said with pure pride. “Now be quiet. I'm trying to focus on the road, this place makes me nervous.” I gulped and stared out of the window, I hope the Lucy faction doesn’t do anything stupid with this.
Who am I kidding of course they will.
