Chapter eleven: Left in the Dark

Kakashin and another man stand within the recesses of an underground bunker deep inside of a cave. The two keep their vision illuminated by the surrounding torches as they converse.

"He went over to Erekin," Kakashin states, "He said something about her tsavi being dormant." He then steps to the side and thinks for a moment. "Are you sure there were no other clues back at the lav, Yamato?"

The other man unveils his face from the dark hood to reveal the mitsu that he is. "Not a damn thing. Sorry Kakashin, but your father is more of an expert with this sort of thing than anyone else I know. It's gonna be a lot more difficult to find Sommi than you think," he says as the scar that penetrates his scales from his left eye to his lower lip is unmoving. Yamato hands Kakashin a very thin envelope.

Kakashin takes it and lets his fingers clutch to the packet. "We need to find Sommi. He might be the only one who can break this curse, the only one who can destroy him, for good..."

The mitsu named Yamato gives him a concerned look with his one red reptile-like eye on the right and one grey glass eye on the left. "You do understand the extent of this vow; don't you Kakashin? Vila might be able to accomplish this as well, she seemed to have grown a lot when I bumped into her the other day."

He directs his soft red gaze towards the servant and makes the slightest scoff with a lingering smile of joy. "Of course I do, and she has grown so much, but in the end," he drops his gaze back to the envelope, "it will all be worth it."

"Euna, you can be a real jerk sometimes!" A young boy exclaims towards his sister as he sits in a mixed patch of blue and green grass not too far from Kai and Erekin. The tears in his big green eyes begin to form to guilt trip her as they hide behind his untamable dirty blonde hair.

"Don't be such a baby Hiroko, it's part of the game," The little girl named Euna replies back with her young attitude. The wind sends a slight breeze through her long, red-tinted black hair for her to give a dramatic effect when she strides her fingers through it. A lone tree with age stays dormant next to them as the leaves rustle around from the soft gust of wind.

Hiroko gives her a more intense sad-puppy stare with his emerald eyes. "I don't think pushing your opponent to the ground is a part of tag, sister."

Euna decides to give him a harsher statement, "Tch; you're such a wimp Hiroko. What would you do without me?"

"Oh brother; what are you two hooligans up to this time," Yamato mopes out as he slugs his way over to them.

"Yamato-kan," The children chirp in unison as Euna heads straight for him with a hug and Hiroko gets up from the grass before tackling him.

The mitsu takes the greeting as a normal thing from the two.

"What makes you think we're up to no good? It's just tag," Euna states sweetly with a smile on her face and a giggle in her words as the purple glow shines from her dark eyes.

Yamato chuckles to their innocence. "It's getting late you two, dinner is ready."

The two stare at him confused before Hiroko speaks, "What about Venni, where's he?"

He looks back to him with a raised eyebrow from his good eye. "Who?"

"Vensen-kan," Euna answers.

"You gave him a pet name?" He inquires with some fear. "Oh dear Methel."

"Don't worry Yamato-kan, Venni said it was okay for us to call him that."

The two chuckle again before Hiroko asks his question a second time, "So where is he? I have a question for him."

Yamato looks to the darkening sky before he answers, "He had to go finish an errand, least that's what Kakashin told me."

"Kakashin-kan is so scary!" Euna states as she lets go of Yamato to hunch over a little.

Hiroko does the same to support her. "Yeah, he's always so gloom and doom."

The children shiver before they jump into each other's arms.

"You're more afraid of Kakshin?" Yamato comments as his knuckles lie against his hips. "You poor little souls." Suddenly, he gently grabs the two by their noggins and starts dragging them to the house. "Now you rascals get going before the meal gets cold and everyone gets pissed."

They squeal in pain before shouting in unison, "You're like a grumpy old lady Yamato-kan!"

Yamato releases his grip and points them to the house sitting in the middle of the field. "Go!"

Euna and Hiriko skip towards the building as they hold each other's hands. The sun says its last good-bye for the day with its lasting beam poking out from the horizon and striking Yamato's backside. He watches them hurry towards the place as he lets a few words slip through his pointy teeth, "Those poor kids... Don't know what they got themselves into..."
