How long had she been awake now? Answer? Too long. I mean, when you only sleep for an hour once every one-to-seven months, living in a time machine in a human families backyard-
No big adventures, dad needed to rest.
But that didn’t feel… right. They’d had adventures, scrapes, companions! Sure, she’d end up ‘slipping’ down his timestream against her will, even backwards that one time, but still. So many adventures, so much running. Messaline. She was born on Messaline.
What was she? Gallifreyan? Far from being a Time Lord. She was just.. from Messaline.
Chiswick. That's where she lived now. Chiswick. The Noble-Temple's backyard. The TARDIS. Her room. Her bedroom. Near the secondary console room... for now.
Had she forgotten to eat today? Probably not. Maybe not. Hopefully not.
No, she still had an apple in her mouth, and a few 'inventions' littered around, some Lego... picked up a spare sonic her dad had lying around in the university a few years ago... nice green light-up thingy..
It was nice to see Cole Hill Academy.. for him. She just wanted to move. To see the stars. To save a planet... not go to school with Rose. Sure, it was nice to have friends. Heck, she liked talking to people. Talking. Talking. Talking. Not that she technobabbled.. why do it if nobody would understand? Ok, maybe in her head. She got the morals, she got the hair, the eyes, maybe some of the other stuff.
She felt restless, foot tapping, hands twitching, a couple of hats she'd 'borrowed' were somewhere around here... was her room near the actual control room or the secondary one?
She should be saving planets, rescuing civilizations, defeating terrible creatures, and running, like they used to. Seriously, there was a ridiculous amount of running involved in a life like hers. But that's the benefit of two hearts... you're good at cardio.
Homework, why did teachers give that out? She could just go back in time and get rid of the punishment. No, no messing with time like that. Dad said no. And sure, if wasn't like she was sneaking the TARDIS out, getting back in time for the plants to not fall-
It wasn't like she and Rose hadn't done that and gotten reprimanded. It wasn't like she could be rapid when she talked about something she liked and could clearly see people were annoyed but she just didn't stop because she'd started might as well keep going because she just has so much energy and so much energy and so much energy and-
Running through random TARDIS corridors, getting away from thoughts, species to meet, wars to end, companions to have...
She still didn't have a companion yet. A friend, a mate to pal around with across time and space. Maybe someone she can read with... to listen to. Friends outside of school. More than she encountered on the small travels she had.. what? She learned TARDIS stealing, well, borrowing from the best. She still missed her.
Clothes, clothes, clothes. Nothing with long sleeves, more flexible that way. Plus there was the soft, stretchy leggings. More breathable, moisture-wicking too! She didn't even bother learning what moisture-wicking meant, it just sounded cool.
How long had it been since they'd gotten back into the box for something serious? Dad was probably running errands, maybe picking up takeout. Maybe he's shadowing Rose as she goes to grab something for a school project? That would be her if she wasn't in the TARDIS. It wasn't that she didn't like being around them, it was just... boring, at the end of the day. Donna dropping off packages, going off to UNIT HQ, Dad coming along... He wasn't even offering to give them a lift in the TARDIS most of the time, he just saw someone going somewhere and was like "Me too!" She wanted to see the start of the universe? They aren't going alone! The rollerblading was funny.. if she could balance. Fast, run, adventure.

So what if she let her dad take and do her physics homework for her because he was bored and she didn't want to do it? It still got done, no matter how much Donna sighed.
Ok, getting to meet the old companions was fun. But maybe she could call her friends something like that. Assistants? Friends? Buddies? Mates? Affectionaries? Consorts? Friends. Yeah, that worked! She didn't come to brunch with Yaz. Wasn't big on Liverpool history. Hiking with Tegan.. she may have been running too much. But... an old 'cinema', watching The Wizard Of Oz with Ace... it was like having a big sister... one who was 'pissed' at dad. She didn't get that word yet.
She wore headphones during the yelling. Ah, the UNO game... the day she learned true hatred. At least she didn't end up on Mars with Geoffrey Chaucer and a robot shark... slightly stressful. She wasn't big on football, but... it felt good to win. To do something nice.
She'd... gotten a bit attached to humans. She liked friends! Friends. Friends. It sounded nice.
Getting a phone was fun. So many weird little apps she could hit with her fingers! Figuring out how to install a hologram projector was fun! Inventing with dad!
Lilo And Stitch! Loved it! She kept saying words from it to herself.. brain stuck on lines.. it was nice. Dad couldn't handle it though.
Ugh, experiencing time linearly. She hated it. Hate hate hate hate hate hate! Did she say she hated it? Of course not, she's thinking. Thinking. Thinking, thinking, thinking. But so easy to keep track of. No, she hated easy! She needed a challenge! She needed adventure, it was in her DNA!
Somewhere out there, the tea was getting cold. Sure, he'd be handling it, some version of him at some place in time.
Pond. The cat. Their cat. Infinite lives, infinite regenerations. How she envied that cat. Envy? That's a word? A new feeling. She wasn't sure she liked it.
Christmas. That was a good day. Drawing, drawing. Drawing. Fuzzy socks. She liked fuzzy socks. So what if Sylvia didn't have certain materials by the end, and hers were all rainbow? She loved them! Love! Loving something that wasn't a person. That was nice. Eye didn't come out when she was bouncing this time! Rose gave her a plush of herself! Cuter than she could be. Maybe being made of fabric would be an easier life... easier to patch up.
Tesco trip. How the heck had her dad lost four credit cards? Honesty, neither of them kept track. Ear piercing, a lot of blood. First time experiencing pain. Maybe.
Still needed to get used to drinking water. Ugh, school. Why would she do that when she could adventure?
Just... running down the hallways, thinking, thinking, thinking. Dad was probably asleep in his hammock...
Jenny swung around to the console room, maybe she could get a quick trip in to Revonnah, only to see her dear old dad reading a letter, the remains of the brown envelope at the console desktop.
"Dad? What's going on?" Jenny questioned. Still needed to get used to normal talking.
He could just telepath it straight into her head...
He swung around, putting on a smile at seeing her. "How about a trip to Romania, just you and me?"
Jenny would've leaped at the chance... but at the same time, it's earth again. But it's somewhere new, somewhere fresh. Something new to experience, friends to make, little adventures to have.
Jenny grinned. It was like she couldn't stop herself. "What's the occasion?"
He wouldn't hide this part from her. "...Oh, y'know. Just father-daughter stuff."
If there was one thing Jenny knew, it was the sound of her dad lying. But the chance to finally get the old girl moving again was right at her fingertips. A chance to move around.
"Then let's go!" Jenny ran back to her room. Needed the right outfit. Probably the cowboy hat. Why? It was one part of human history she found cool.
She'd need a name. Fake name. Name, name name name name. No, wait. Jenny was a nice name. It was a pun. But she didn't have a last name yet. Song? Smith? Foreman? Noble? Temple? Fudge it, she's Jenny Doe as far as she cares. Jenny.. Jane.. Janet.. January..
The noise. That noise. The wheezing-like noise. She'd never heard actual wheezing. Maybe she'd hear it properly one day, before she gets older. Just a teenager... right? How old was she again? Hard to tell. She didn't know.
Fast, fast, fast. Thinking fast. Maybe that jacket she picked up? Ooh, she hadn't expected to enjoy picking up a jacket... or buying something.
Catchphrase, catchphrase, catchphrase. Why couldn't she have that figured out yet? Maybe 'time to win'? That sounded good! Maybe a bit corny.
The jacket, jacket, jacket, jacket! Black jacket, black bomber jacket, black fabric bomber jacket. Was she inspired by Ace? Heck yeah! Ace was cool! She was awesome! She was...
"Oh, fantastic!" She heard a sarcastic remark, and popped her head out of her room, now only a corridor away from the console room. She hadn't even felt her room move... and she stepped on a Lego.
Now was a bad time to not have anything but fuzzy socks on her feet.
Now was a good time to know how to swear in another language.
"Language."
The sound of a lever being pulled... it better not be the wibbly one.
"How long has it been since we've had an adventure on Earth?" Jenny questioned.
"Let's make it... twenty-twenty four!" The Doctor tried to be dramatic... despite the fact that was the year they were in.
