Hope you all enjoy this chapter. Also next chapter may get a bit wired and Laria may seem a bit out of character because she has so far been pretty normal, but trust me she isn't, her personality is acctually pretty fucked.

The Car screeches back down the street.
I wonder what the driver will do now that his contract is complete. I talked to him on the way here and it turns out that along with a custom Lamborghini they also gave him about 10 million dollars worth of pesos. The guy could probably just buy a house in the Mexican country side and retire if he wanted to. A pretty good deal to drive someone a few miles.
Anyway, currently I'm standing on the curb in front of a few run down looking buildings. This is one of Hong Kings slums.
Each building looked like a normal apartment complex that had been left to rot. Vines were creeping up the side of the walls and the brick was chipped in many places.
The agency had hid the HQ among the slum buildings so that nobody would notice our operations. Supposedly there are Tark safe houses all over China. Though this will be my first time in one, I was never on active duty in mainland Asia.
The building in front of me is supposed to be the safe house. I got the room number before arriving in Manila, it's #705. Though for safety reasons I wasn't told the building that it was in.
The building that supposedly contains our headquarters in Hong Kong looks exactly like the other buildings around it. A tall, grey brick apartment complex with several clotheslines hanging from the Windows. Bt I guess that's why they located themselves here. To stay hidden within blandness.
Shifting my backpack up a little on my shoulders I step forwards and walk towards the building.
The sidewalk is also cracked and unkempt, and there are weeds growing in the crevices, creeping into the concrete.
The door is one of those spinning doors that you usually see on hotels or large office buildings. As I go through it I'm reminded that These doors always annoyed me, they always made me feel like i had to rush through them or I would get hurt.
The room I step into is just as rundown as the exterior of the building. It's dirty and the striped pink wallpaper is peeling off in several spots.
On a desk to the side of the room a small fan is chugging along blowing cold air and pushing out
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
I feel Someone's eyes on me and realize that behind the desk there is an old Chinese woman staring straight at me.
Realizing that I had been looking at her for several minutes without noticing it. I gave an awkward smile, to which she lifted her wrinkled cheeks into something that resembled a smile of her own.
For me the atmosphere in the room had become stuffy, so I decided that I should probably just leave.
Noticing that there was an elevator just across the room, I stiffly jerked my body parts until they carried me across the room.
I pressed the small button Which had an arrow pointing upwards and it lit up. After what seemed like an eternity of waiting the elevator doors finally opened. I rushed inside and hurriedly pressed the button for the 10th floor.
After the door closed I let out a sigh of relief.
“GODS that was awkward, thank merciful lord Verium that I didn't have to talk to the lady at the desk, hell if I can speak Chinese.”
I may be a highly trained assassin but I don't know everything.
Finally the elevator reached the 10th floor.
Good I can finally have a proper conversation with some sensible people, maybe meet a new friend.
I stepped out of the elevator and walked out into the dimly lit hallway. A man In a suit walked down the hall towards the elevator.
I started walking down the hallway.
I hope the other agents are Tark I would really like to..!!!!!
What was that!!!
That was… Killing intent!!
I froze,my jaw clenched
That man… There was something wrong with him. As soon as we crossed paths… It felt as though he was watching me… And that was killing intent for sure.
I whipped my body around just in time to see the door close and the elevator shoot upwards.
He is going to a higher floor…. There is something not right here, I can feel it. My instincts don't lie.
I remember that time in Berlin. If I hadn't gotten that feeling and pulled the trigger. I might not be alive still.
And this situation is no different from Berlin. I must be the one to strike first from here on out i must be very cautious.
My hand tightens on the handle of my brief case. And I look down at it lovingly.
I shiver, but not in fear. In anticipation. Soon I will see my baby...soon.
