Prologue
20XX
A year like any other, where students go to school, adults go to work, and parents take care of their kids.
But after every year, technology will definitely improve.
Though not to the point where there is virtual reality but every where you look, almost everything is operated on floating touch-screen panels.
TV became obsolete and currency became digital.
Cleaning droids roam around as well.
Of course, as technology improves, the 'entertainment' that comes along with it follows suite.
Many videos get released in many different sites and countless games have flooded the app stores.
Many of these come and go very quickly because of the ever-changing trends.
But one game in particular, hasn't died off and instead grew increasingly popular.
CrossHair.
A real-time first-person shooter game only available on phones.
A game where when you play, you have to 'shoot' other people's phones and risk getting shot as well.
When playing, the screen will show what the camera can see.
It's like taking a picture.
What's different though is that in the center of the screen, is a crosshair.
All you have to do is aim and touch the screen to shoot.
And the best part? You earn money. Real and authentic money, automatically transported to your account.
Think it's simple?
Well no, it's not.
Having limited bullets and very small hit-boxes, one must make sure the bullet hits.
Because bullets cost money.
And when it hits, you earn cash.
But when you get hit, you lose it.
It's like gambling.
Also, the part about getting hit.
You will suffer a 'death penalty' and your phone can't shoot or be shot for twenty-four hours.
And if you're wondering about whether one can get two phones and shoot eachother well...
You can but...
let me explain.
Shooting just one person nets you a ton of money, enough for a person to live comfortably for a week.
The bullets' prices vary but won't cost you very much when compared to what you're earning.
The downside though, is that when you get hit, a huge chunk of money gets removed from you're account. And when it reaches zero, people who hit you can't earn money.
Obviously because you don't have any.
If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement.
Getting hit will remove money from you're account and transfer to the one who hit you.
And if you don't have any, then the one who hit you just wasted a bullet.
Meaning, hitting another phone you own, will be earning money you already own.
Another feature, is that you can make 'groups'.
When in a group, you earn money from a groupmate's 'kill'.
Likewise, your groupmates earn money from your 'kill' as well.
But the price is that the earned money is divided and distributed.
So the bigger a group is, the smaller your gain.
And since this is a shooter game, there are obviously different kinds of guns.
One kind lets you zoom in and shoot from afar but makes the already small hit-box even smaller.
Another would be a kind that shoots rapid-fire but wastes a lot of bullets and the screen even shakes when shooting making it even harder to get a hit.
There are many kinds, and of course...
These aren't free.
You have to buy them with real money.
They may be hard to use, but when used right, it is definitely worth the cost.
Now... you may be asking. How does the game recognize another phone that has the game in it?
You can only hit the other phone when the app is on, but how does it recognize whether it's on or not?
Well let me give you an answer.
It's been may years already and let me remind you again that technology has been improving.
Improving really fast.
And after such a long time, they have finally released a phone that can do what it can do today.
That is why, this phone is the most widely used and most common now.
And that is why they finally thought it safe enough to release the game...
CrossHair.

Author's note - To anyone who's actually reading this... Thank you very much.
This story just one of the many projects I have, and well... if you liked the concept of the story I really appreciate it.
But let me say this in advanced. I'm not a writer so there might not be many updates(but I'll still try...) and I'm expecting my works to have many mistakes as well.
If you spot any, please inform me in the comments and I'll try to amend it.
Once again, thank you :D
