Prologue

An Empire once united clashed under the reign of two rulers and their factions. Mistrust was sowed along the centuries until a time came when the consequences of aristocratic schemes had reached a deeming end: the beginning of a war.

The once prosperous land became barren, childless as middle-class parents that saw their sons go to the battlefield and never come back, and fatherless as the children in the slums that were dragged to fight for a country that ignored their existence and suffering.

Both sides were forced to take any measures to ensure they would become victorious over one another under the pretenses of being the only one destined for the throne, not fostering any consciousness about the lives their flimsy games of power would reap.

But, after five years of relentless battles, deaths and economical demise, the two states were closer to an end than they ever could, or so each one of them believed. They had their trump cards, a bastard son of the archduke of Saltain and the nameless assassin that once belonged to the East King's secret guard.

This is a story about how one single misguided move can bring the downfall of an entire continent.
