Hello, Lurker. If you’re reading this then that means you’ve chosen to give this story a shot. I’d like to mention some things before you dive into the story.
This story is a slow burn! There be fights, yes, but it’ll come when it’s needed. I don’t intend to force scenes or anything at all, I’m trying my best to make it all feel natural, so I hope you bear with me for that.
Will there be action? Yes! Will there be progression? Yes! But they’ll only come when the characters stick their nose into such situations—which they will.
The Mc, Elmer, is a naive young boy who just relocated from the countryside to a city, so some of his decisions may seem weird and all, but I promise you that he does grow.
The Worldbuilding will be slow, as I will not partake in any infodumps, so I hope you have a bit of patience since all the countries and kingdoms won't be spelled out to you at once.
You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story.
With that out of the way, you may proceed, Lurker. Oh, and please don’t skip the prologue. It’s necessary, and don’t worry, I try my best to avoid info dumps in my story. I can’t do it even if I wanted to!
T/N: This story’s magic system is inspired by LOTM’s, but that’s where it stops, the magic system. In no way does this story borrow any plot line from the world of LOTM. I’ve heard that the premise is similar to that of COI (LOTM Book 2), so I’m putting this out there to curb any confusion about that.
I began to read LOTM to grasp the concept of eldritch horror and whatnot, same as I did for “The call of Cthulhu” and as I’m doing currently with bloodborne so as not to fail in my own story in that aspect. Therefore, if by some intervention of the divine beings any similarities are noticed, take note that it was purely coincidental, unless I intentionally reference LOTM world, which would probably be pretty glaring if that happens.
Thank you for reading.
